When my normal scheduled scan ran it presented no threats (yay) but because it was so strange not seeing the same 3 after all this time, I ran one immediately again and then got 15! Never had that many. However, have run several since as well as another scheduled (while having worked on the PC) and all clear. So I shall ignore the aberration and declare problem fixed. Many thanks for your help with this Aura, much appreciated.

Scan came back clean. Although I have faith in your expertise, can we wait until my scheduled scan occurs before we definitely give the thumbs up? I have found the scan is usually clean, after quarantining, until the scheduled 24 hour scan. Yes I do occasionally use an external storage units on the PC. I have never had that notification before and I don't believe the externals have ever shown up as Drive J. After the last restart it is no longer appearing so it was probably a minor hiccup. Thanks very much for your help and I will (hopefully) report an all clear in 24 hours if that's okay

Instructions followed. However, it didn't "open a log in Notepad". It said a log had been saved and the computer needed to restart. It took me a while to realise that the fixlist.txt had been replaced with the fixlog.txt Since restart I have repeated notification that of "Low Disk space on drive J". I have never had this occur before and include an image of the clean up window presented when clicking on the notification. Fixlog.txt

Thanks for responding Aura. I followed the instructions on the link. However, when I started running FRST it delivered an "application error" - copy of which I have attached. I closed the error and pressed the scan button. The program ran but at "Scanning Shortcuts" it presented a "no disk error". Upon hitting the cancel button it ran through all of my card reader drives asking for a disk to be inserted. I had to terminate the program through the task manager as it just kept looping through the card reader drives. Copy of no disk error attached. Quarantine, Frst and Addition files attached Addition.txt FRST.txt Log.txt

From researching and reading other forums, following suggestions and testing, I think I have finally resolved all problems. Malwarebytes is now running at Windows Start-up, minimizing to system tray, conducting real-time protection, updating and scanning - AUTOMATICALLY. Thanking all ... and fingers crossed it is smooth sailing from here.

Firstly thank you for your help. Secondly, it didn't quite go as expected. I followed your instructions. When I started running FRST it delivered an "application error" - copy of which I have attached. I closed the error and pressed the scan button. The program ran but at "Scanning Shortcuts" it presented a "no disk error" - copy also attached. Upon hitting the cancel button it ran through all of my card reader drives asking for a disk to be inserted. I had to terminate the program through the task manager as it just kept looping through the card reader drives. However, it did produce the FRST.txt and Addition.txt so I ran MB-Check and have attached the resultant zip file. I ran this procedure twice (deleting the files produced between each run) and the same occurrences happened exactly the same. mb-check-results.zip

Hello, I have the same problem. I downloaded the MB-Clean tool. Followed instructions to the letter as stated here https://support.malwarebytes.com/docs/DOC-1112 After reinstalling I still have the same problem, i.e. Malwarebytes will not automatically start. After I start it, I have to manually perform updates and scans. When trying to close to the notification area, it closes entirely thereby not having real time protection. I have Malwarebytes Premuim. MB-Clean results.txt attached Would appreciate assistance. mb-clean-results.txt
