  1. Okay, thank you. I was a bit concerned with so many items being listed and with the graph being so active and having so many peaks (actually to the point of changing colors).
  2. Here are some screen shots from first turning my pc on today. I let it sit idle and did nothing except open the task manager and open paint a few times to save the pics. I titled them at the time they were taken(from waking)... initial, 1 minute and 11 minutes. I do only put my pc in standby rather than shut it down. It looks pretty busy to me.
  3. So after deleting the Google toolbar and giving it a bit I am no longer experiencing issues with desktop icons and start menu items locking up and not being available to open. Checking the task manager shows that there are no longer additional Iexplorer.exe processes running either. I also haven't had any more issues with failures to shut down or warnings that Internet Explore was closed improperly. Evidently Google Toolbar was the culprit causing these issues. I am still having what I feel like is excessive hard drive run times, though I haven't seemed to have anymore issues with file or folder access being slow. Thank you to TwinHeadedEagle for all of your help and your suggestions.
  4. Okay. I uninstalled it yesterday. I'll give it a while and report back.
  5. I use this extension very frequently but have no issues removing it if it's causing issues. Do you believe this is the cause of my issues? And what would you like me to do after uninstalling it? Also, since I was having issues with the Toolbar itself, I previously(before my posting) uninstalled and reinstalled it. It had no affect on reviving it's search prompt or search history functions. This was an immediate uninstall/reinstall so there was no real down time or time that I was without it.
  6. Hello, and thank you for the welcoming. Apologies for the delayed response, I never received a notification of a reply (immediate notification is, and was, selected). I'm guessing that I was meant to follow the "I'm infected - What do I do now?" post? I installed and ran the scan. Here are the files: FRST.txt Addition.txt
  7. Hello, I'm running Windows 7 Professional 64bit and IE 11 and somewhat recently I've been experiencing issues with desktop icons and start menu items locking up and not being available to open. New items added to either will also not show when this is the case. I've also noticed that my hard drive runs way more and longer than it ever has before. I've ran Malwarebytes Anti-Malware(free version) and MSE, neither ever find anything. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware will run completely, while MSE usually fails to complete. After some research online I found the suggestion that going into task manager and stopping Iexplorer.exe is a fix. While this does work it is not a solution as the issue keeps reoccurring. I've noticed that there will always be several, usually at least four, Iexplorer.exe processes running. And that they will continue to run after I've closed all web pages. I've had a few times when I open my browser back up it will prompt that IE was shut down improperly and would I like to recover, as if it crashed, only it hasn't. And a few times when shutting down I get the prompt that something is still running and not allowing shut down even though nothing is open or being accessed. File/folder access seems slow as well. I've also been experiencing issues with the Google toolbar extension (no prompting, no history, etc.). I've found this online as well, which seems to be due to a Windows update, but I am unsure if it could be related. After reading this: I feel that I may have a similar malware issue. As it's an older post I haven't followed any of the many steps. So I thought that I would post for some advice/help. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
