  1. Malwarebytes Browser Guard (on Firefox on Mac) is blocking the following website, and I believe it's a false positive: www.verizonwireless-employmentvalidation.com
  2. Thank you, JMaM! I'm still on version 4.21.9, but maybe what you're referring to is different. I did wonder whether the issue was on Malwarebytes' end or mine.
  3. Malwarebytes is stuck scanning and cancelling the scan doesn't work -- it just keeps scanning. It says it's scanned 0 items. I'm on the latest version (4.21.9), and I tried restarting my Mac (which is on Ventura), but the issue persists. Please help.

    false positive?

Malwarebytes Browser Guard blocked www.dpbolvw.net, and I'm wondering if it was a false positive since the site should not be risky, but who knows....
  5. Thank you, Mr. Reed! An honor to get a reply from the developer himself!
  6. My Malwarebytes for Mac notifications were turned off without my realizing it. (It might have had to do with troubleshooting I did when my Notification Center was having issues.) If notifications are turned off, how would you know if Malwarebytes needed to tell you that it had found or blocked malware, or if you had some other issue with your application or account? Would you only know if you went into the Malwarebytes app itself? Thank you!
  7. I was trying to go to the softtouchcollars.com website (for dog collars) and got what I think is a false positive (a message saying that the website was blocked by Malwarebytes Browser Guard). Could someone please look into this? Thank you.
  8. A thought: Especially since it appears to work differently with Malwarebytes for Windows, the term "Quit" could be confusing in terms of whether you continue to be protected or not. So maybe instead of Quit Malwarebytes, for command-Q the app could say "Close Malwarebytes interface". Just a suggestion.
  9. Yes. I think treed was just adding that in order to be thorough and cover other cases.
  10. treed, thank you so much! It's an honor to get a response from the developer himself! Being that Malwarebytes is a well-designed program, I figured it would alert me if I did something stupid like quit the app if the app needed to be running in order for me to be protected, but I wanted to make sure....
  11. Thank you for your prompt reply! Yes, I saw that with Windows. I thought that with Mac maybe Real-Time Protection would continue scanning even if the app were quit...?
  12. Will Malwarebytes for Mac continue Real-Time Protection if you quit the app? I saw an article that made it sound like if you quit Malwarebytes in Windows some of the services can't run, and I'm wondering if it's the same for Mac. Basically, I want to know if it's OK to quit Malwarebytes for Mac, to not leave it open all the time. Will I still be protected? Thank you!
  13. Malwarebytes Browser Guard is blocking GraphicConverter's download site, and I think it shouldn't be. It's blocking https://www.lemkesoft.info/files/graphicconverter/gc11.dmg which is accessed from https://www.lemkesoft.de/en/products/graphicconverter/ Should that in fact be blocked? I'm concerned about downloading the latest version of GraphicConverter, even though I've had previous versions for years.
  14. Good point, exile360. Perhaps Malwarebytes could give a notification such as: "You're on the free version. If you purchased a premium subscription, please input your license key." That would notify people without creating confusion.
  15. Thanks, exile360. What you mention is ideal -- but most people are not experts and may not go into the applications much at all unless they need to or they notice something's wrong. But if they don't get notifications, then they won't realize something's wrong. If a software has a separate free version and a premium version, then people presumably chose to get just the free version. But if the two are the same software *and* it reverts to free mode when you get a new device, and if the software is vital -- as anti-malware software is -- then I think it's the responsibility of the software to notify people that they are no longer on the premium version. Why not notify free users that they need to register the software to activate their possible paid subscription? Why would that be confusing? If you don't notify people, then they're trusting the software and it's really letting them down.
  16. Thank you so much for your candid response! My comment, then: Many people don't think too much about this sort of stuff. People would be in danger of thinking they had the premium version and not realizing the software had reverted to free and they weren't adequately protected. So although too many notifications might hassle folks who are using Malwarebytes for free, I'd think it would be reasonable to show a few reminders. I'd say Malwarebytes has a greater responsibility to those people who've paid for the premium version! Malwarebytes could also show notifications that had a "Don't remind me again" checkbox.
  17. Feature request: Although too many notifications might hassle folks who are using Malwarebytes for free, I'd think it would be reasonable to show just a couple of reminders, for those people who forget to activate the premium version, or perhaps if they transfer to a new computer and forget (or don't know) to re-activate their license. I'd say Malwarebytes has a greater responsibility to those people who've paid for the premium version! Malwarebytes could also show a notification that had a "Don't remind me again" checkbox.
  18. P.S.: Does the license key transfer if you use Setup Assistant or Migration Assistant to transfer to a new computer?
  19. What happens if someone doesn't re-input their license key when transferring to a new device? Do they get a notification that Malwarebytes is not on the premium version? It would be easy for someone to forget or not know to do that, and then they would not be on the premium version -- they'd be unprotected and wouldn't realize it. Also, does Malwarebytes notify you if you have too many devices on your account? Thank you!
  20. Thank you so much! It's an honor to get a response from experts -- and from the developer himself!
  21. Thank you, good point. Would it be possible for Malwarebytes to know that someone has paid but not activated their license key, and then just send that person reminders?
  22. My family members have Malwarebytes for Mac, and my sister *thought* she had it and even paid to renew it, but it turns out she never activated the premium version so it was running the free version. Does Malwarebytes for Mac give notifications if you forget to input your license key and activate the premium version? If not, it would be easy to forget and think you'd taken care of it because you'd paid.
  23. The Rakuten credit card site is being blocked by Malwarebytes Browser Guard for Chrome, and I believe it's a false positive. The site is: rakutencreditcard.com
