  1. I am using Windows 10 in my new laptop bought less than a month ago. I try to be careful when it comes to malware. I use a bunch of anti malware software & run scans once a week. Everything seemed ok until 2 days back. 2 days back, I had a college presentation & had to plug in my friend's USB drive which had lots of viruses. I did not want to, but had to click on the shortcut virus to open her files since i was standing in front of the whole class & i had to give the presentation. It also had an autorun virus along with others. I could not unplug the USB drive until i finished with my presentation. Can someone please help me on what to do to get rid of all of them which may have infected my OS while I plugged the drive in my laptop? I have tried scanning again & again, till all the scan results were clean. But still i fear some may be left out. what should i do? I use zemana antimalware, emergency kit scanner from emsisoft, Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool, Security Scan & TDSS Killer from kaspersky, ESET online scanner, Norton security scan, aswmbr from avast, Malwarebytes 3.0, adwcleaner & JRT from malwarebytes, superantispyware to run on-demand scans. I ran all of these again & again till all of them came up with clean results. I tried running all of these in safe mode as well, but got clean results again. ( I use avira free antivirus as my main antivirus. ) what should i do now? How can i find out if my laptop is clean or not? Someone please help me out on this. Would be highly thankful if someone could come up with a solution to ensure my laptop is 100% clean. I have attached the FRST logs below.. Thanks. FRST.txt Addition.txt
  2. Just got a doubt. Is Malwarebytes designed to work along side something like Emsisoft AntiMalware? Ok. Will try it out in another system then Thank you
  3. How can i download the trial version? I am already using the free version. I downloaded the trial version of MBAM premium. I uninstalled the free version using revo uninstaller & installed the trial version. but it seems i got the free version installed again. No matter how many times i download & install the trial version i only get the free version installed. ( I vaguely remember downloading the premium trial when MBAM premium was new & evolved from MB anti malware. but since i thought MBAM premium real time protection is going to clash with my anti virus, i had reverted back to the free version almost within a day. Does that have something to do with now? ) i really want to try the MBAM 3.0 now ( since a lot of users have complaints with the new version ) before going ahead & buying it. Is there any way to do this? Can someone help me?
  4. Im using Avira free antivirus, which does not provide web protection & mail protection. I am considering to buy malwarebytes premium very soon. I already use malwarebytes free version to run scans. Am i allowed to have both at the same time? Or will they affect my system speed & performance? Should i include some exclusions in both?
  5. Actually i have solved it myself. Now the program opens. Could not edit the previous reply, so posting a new reply.
  6. i too get the same toolbars again & again. What should i do? I have not done anything the topic starter has mentioned like syncing or re syncing. But I am very sure about not downloading any of the toolbars. I too run malwarebytes, super anti spyware, junkware removal tool once a week. The toolbars get detected only by adwCleaner, that too everytime i run the scan. What should i do? Should i create a separate topic for this? # AdwCleaner v6.045 - Logfile created 10/04/2017 at 11:46:54 # Updated on 28/03/2017 by Malwarebytes # Database : 2017-03-28.2 [Local] # Operating System : Windows 10 Home Single Language (X64) # Username : Rebecca Valentine - REBECCA-VALENTI # Running from : C:\Users\Rebecca Valentine\Downloads\Programs & Setup Files\adwcleaner_6.045.exe # Mode: Clean # Support : https://www.malwarebytes.com/support ***** [ Services ] ***** ***** [ Folders ] ***** ***** [ Files ] ***** ***** [ DLL ] ***** ***** [ WMI ] ***** ***** [ Shortcuts ] ***** ***** [ Scheduled Tasks ] ***** ***** [ Registry ] ***** ***** [ Web browsers ] ***** [-] [C:\Users\Rebecca Valentine\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Profile 1\Web data] [Search Provider] Deleted: ask.com [-] [C:\Users\Rebecca Valentine\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Profile 1\Web data] [Search Provider] Deleted: aol.com ************************* :: "Tracing" keys deleted :: Winsock settings cleared :: " Image File Execution Options" keys deleted ************************* C:\AdwCleaner\AdwCleaner[C0].txt - [1692 Bytes] - [20/01/2017 02:21:47] C:\AdwCleaner\AdwCleaner[C2].txt - [1493 Bytes] - [20/01/2017 02:28:30] C:\AdwCleaner\AdwCleaner[C3].txt - [1640 Bytes] - [21/01/2017 01:54:42] C:\AdwCleaner\AdwCleaner[C4].txt - [1785 Bytes] - [21/01/2017 20:55:22] C:\AdwCleaner\AdwCleaner[C5].txt - [2004 Bytes] - [09/04/2017 17:10:33] C:\AdwCleaner\AdwCleaner[C6].txt - [1971 Bytes] - [09/04/2017 21:03:02] C:\AdwCleaner\AdwCleaner[C7].txt - [1560 Bytes] - [10/04/2017 11:46:54] C:\AdwCleaner\AdwCleaner[S0].txt - [1657 Bytes] - [20/01/2017 01:56:20] C:\AdwCleaner\AdwCleaner[S1].txt - [1543 Bytes] - [20/01/2017 02:25:50] C:\AdwCleaner\AdwCleaner[S2].txt - [1690 Bytes] - [21/01/2017 01:54:09] C:\AdwCleaner\AdwCleaner[S3].txt - [1835 Bytes] - [21/01/2017 19:23:35] C:\AdwCleaner\AdwCleaner[S4].txt - [1775 Bytes] - [08/04/2017 12:01:17] C:\AdwCleaner\AdwCleaner[S5].txt - [2054 Bytes] - [09/04/2017 17:10:25] C:\AdwCleaner\AdwCleaner[S6].txt - [2016 Bytes] - [09/04/2017 18:36:16] C:\AdwCleaner\AdwCleaner[S7].txt - [2089 Bytes] - [09/04/2017 21:02:24] C:\AdwCleaner\AdwCleaner[S8].txt - [2419 Bytes] - [10/04/2017 09:46:35] ########## EOF - C:\AdwCleaner\AdwCleaner[C7].txt - [2290 Bytes] ##########
  7. when i restarted my laptop malwarebytes didnt open. got the error "unable to start - Unable to connect to the service"... Please help..
  8. I had both anti ransomware beta & anti exploit beta running. Now Ive uninstalled both of them. & installed the new version MB. Now the scan works like a charm. Thank you so much. Thanks a ton!
  9. Since im running the free version, i thought it would be better to have separate anti ransomware as well. Ramsomware protection only comes in the premium version not in the free MB version, isnt it? Is it completely necessary to uninstall anti ransomware beta for MB to work? Thank you so much. I should uninstall this version & install the new version isnt it? Thank you once again.
  10. Now i cant even open the program.. Getting this error "unable to start - Unable to connect to the service" ( I just now installed Malwarebytes anti ransomware beta 8. This has something to do with malwarebytes 3.0 not opening? ) Sorry for not attaching those logs previously. I have attached them below. MBAMSERVICE.LOG MB-CheckResult.txt Addition.txt FRST.txt
  11. I use malwarebytes 3.0 free version. Since the last few days the scan lasts for only 3-5 seconds & finishes displaying clean results. Ive checked & re-checked to ensure that all the drives are selected. I even tried running it in safe mode & still the scan finished in 5 seconds. The scan runs only till pre scan operations. It doesnt proceed further at all. What should I do? would be grateful if someone could help me out please..
  12. I had recently installed the chrome extension "Extensity" and had found it very very useful. The link for it -> https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/extensity/jjmflmamggggndanpgfnpelongoepncg Its an extension to toggle other chrome extensions on or off with a press of a button. I just loved it. But doing a scan with adwcleaner, flagged it as a threat & hence i deleted it. But the other reviews state that the extension is not a malware & is safe. Could it be a false positive? Ive posted the log file here.. Can someone please please guide me on this. I so loved the extension.. :'( PLEASE i need help on this.. # AdwCleaner v6.030 - Logfile created 03/11/2016 at 09:25:16 # Updated on 19/10/2016 by Malwarebytes # Database : 2016-11-02.1 [Local] # Operating System : Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1 (X64) # Username : Rebecca - REBECCA-PC # Running from : C:\Users\Rebecca\Downloads\Programs & setup files\adwcleaner_6.030.exe # Mode: Scan # Support : https://www.malwarebytes.com/support ***** [ Services ] ***** No malicious services found. ***** [ Folders ] ***** Folder Found: C:\Users\Rebecca\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Extensions\jjmflmamggggndanpgfnpelongoepncg ***** [ Files ] ***** No malicious files found. ***** [ DLL ] ***** No malicious DLLs found. ***** [ WMI ] ***** No malicious keys found. ***** [ Shortcuts ] ***** No infected shortcut found. ***** [ Scheduled Tasks ] ***** No malicious task found. ***** [ Registry ] ***** No malicious registry entries found. ***** [ Web browsers ] ***** No malicious Firefox based browser items found.
