  1. @Scottmh  I was on my Win11 Laptop and checked MWB for updates.    First of all it updated the Update Package Version. A subsequent check brought down CU 1.0.1051. I thought this might be the expected update you mentioned. So I powered up my Desktop "C". It downloaded this:-

So I went back to the laptop and got that update now. Powered up the other two desktops and they downloaded 5.0.13.84.  Did take several update checks though. Kept saying they were "Up to Date" before it brought it down.

Anyway all four now have the update.

  2. I have  Desktop "B" running Win 11 and currently has been running MWB 4 Beta.  Did a Clean with the tool and then installed 5.0.12.72.  Set the Beta enable switch and tried an update. It updated to 5.0.12.75 with one hitch.

Also did a Clean on Desktop "C" and then installed 5.0.12.72.  Tried the update and it updated after two hitches. Now on 5.0.12.75.

The hitch I was seeing was this. Just retrying the update allowed the update to complete.

  3. I had problems similar to what happened when I previously  updated to 5.0.12.72--see--Malwarebytes 5.0.12.72 upgrade and multiple restarts. - Malwarebytes 5 for Windows Pre-Release - Malwarebytes Forums.

This morning I was running Belarc Advisor on my Desktop "A" and noticed it was reporting MWB at 5.0.12.75. Sure enough when I opened MWB I found that it had indeed updated.

Tried to update my Win11_Laptop but it just wouldn't update. Tried several times, even restarting the Laptop to see if that helped. No joy. I powered up my Desktop "C" which is running Win 10 Pro. It also wouldn't update even after several attempts and a restart. Gave up on that and powered it off.

Later I tried again on my laptop  but still no joy. Left it powered up while I did some other things. When I next checked it had updated!!!

Went back to Desktop "C" and powered it back on. Malwarebytes wasn't showing in the System Tray. When I tried to run the App, I got the following error.  Closed MWB , did a Restart but the result was the same . Ran the tool for the logs. Uploading them as they are below the upload limit---the Laptop are above it so will have to do that later---other things need doing! Will probably try a clean on "C" and reinstall MWB.

All machines have Beta updates enabled.

  4. I tried to update my two laptops--one is on Win10 and the other on Win11.  Both took multiple attempts to get it on.  After the first attempt on both, all that had changed was that the  Beta had disappeared from the heading.   Further attempts were necessary to get 5.0.12.78--even rebooted both to see if that would help.  Tried to upload one log and it exceeds the allowed limit!   I have loaded them both to my BT Cloud instead.

    @icolcear

I will send the link by private message--let me know when you have them please.

Edit:- Don't know if the message went or not, so have put in this Word doc.

  5. @unknownguy  I have 2 Desktops and one Laptop, all running Windows 11 Pro 22H2 22621.1194--the same as yourself.  Since my Laptop uninstalled MWB 5 successfully from the Control Panel and yours didn't, I decided to do it on this Desktop A which has been running MWB 5. . As you'll see from another posting, I hit a snag with the licence registration so abandoned that idea for the time being. I have Desktop B which is running version 4.5.21.231  CU 1.0.1905. So decided to do it  instead.  Removed 4 using Clean and installed MWB 5. Tried to uninstall from the Control Panel and it fails like the Win 10 Laptop--and yourself--stuck at 5%. Restored it back using Macrium Reflect.

  6. I installed MWB 5 Beta on this Windows 11 Desktop on the 27th. January. I had previously been running the 4.5 Betas and did the clean to remove it. It has a lifetime licence purchased in October 2013. MWB 5 installed fine and activated itself o.k.  Today I was going to try removing MWB 5 as a test for another posting and noticed that it has been activated not with my details but those of some German person. Have blurred out his name. Probably a problem with MWB 5 Beta but raised a Support Ticket as well----4163052.  The licence shows in my account. Only connection with Germany is that I purchased it from Cleverbridge--a German Company.2057223526_WrongOwner.png.a6d4080714a7c039b64ed0c2b708006c.png

  7. @MikeW  You don't say what level your Windows 11 is at.  My PC's are running Windows 11 Pro Version 22621.819. Both have KB5020044 outstanding as I read reports on Windows 11 Forum that there were problems with it. I was waiting for Patch Tuesday which is tomorrow in case Microsoft update it.

Have just tried the two Desktops again, but they are not budging from 4.5.18.226. Both say no updates available.

Am submitting my logs in case they are needed.

  8. I got the email notification about this posting last night  after I had just updated my Windows 11 Laptop to the MWB 5 version so was too late to try it. I therefore tried to install it on my Windows 10 Laptop. It took a few attempts but got there eventually. It installed the Component Package 1.0.1852 but needed another go to update the version.

This morning I tried the update on my two Windows 11 Desktops, 22621.819, but they just update the Component Package Version.

    Both stuck at 4.5.18.226  1.0.63294  1.0.1852.

  9. Switched my Laptop on at 20:33. [Windows 11 Pro 22621.819]  Shortly afterwards it crashed, took a minidump and rebooted. At the reboot, I got a notification that "Real-Time Protection error occurred"  and to download the Support Tool for further analysis. This I did and created the logs. Don't know if the problem was caused by Malwarebytes but I've not had any problems previously with this laptop and I use it every evening.  According to WhoCrashedMe it could  be caused by antivirus software. Perhaps the logs will show something. I have been using the laptop since and no problems,

  10. @pal1000 @1PW Well I don't think I will be in this situation but since I will be removing Malwarebytes temporarily to use my Win 10 for another test,  I was curious as to what would happen.   I was currently on the 4.5.3.162 beta and deactivated it to free.  Restarted the PC and then activated the licence. No problem---back as 4.5.3.162.  Only thing I can see that happens is that the Enable Beta  option has been reset.

I was going to zip up the pictures and post them as a zip file but don't know if that leaves them accessible to "ordinary members" or only Staff/Moderators can view them.  Maybe someone could enlighten me as regards that for the future.   Have temporarily stored them here in my BT Cloud.

  11. I don't want the icon on the desktop either so in previous updates I unticked the option and then did a Save during the install.    Looks like it has remembered that because I run the Beta on all my PC's and my two Desktops and one Laptop have all updated to 4.5.3.162 with NO icon created on the desktop.   They are all on Windows 11--Version 22000.469.

I have just powered up my Windows 10 laptop and it updated  o.k.---- again with NO icon created.  So it's not related to the Windows version but has obviously remembered my preference from previous updates.
