  1. Same thing detected for me too, but I see you've already reported it @skoivan so that's awesome to see the MBAM team is already on the case. :)
  2. I experienced the same crash issues as @vladquintero with the official ADWCleaner 7.0.0.0 release. Tried the unsigned version you linked above and it also runs fine for me, so I'm guessing it'll be fixed in the next official version. If it helps, I am running Windows 10 Home 1703 (64-bit) Insider Build 16241.1001 on my Dell XPS 15 9560 laptop.
  3. Great to hear! Coincidentally, as I write this, the other 2 workstations at the same business also nuked their Dropbox.exe files from orbit. le sigh I guess that's why they pay me the big buck. <INSERT CANNED LAUGHTER> Anyway, I'll manually update all the MBAM clients, and add Dropbox.exe to the exclusion list so this can't ever happen again.
  4. I've attached the MBAMService.log file from the affected computer as requested. To clarify, I was moving things in a folder in my DropBox on my computer, which is a folder I share with other users in the office. This detection occurred on one of the workstations at the office running their own company DropBox account that has access to my shared folder. I don't know if their installation of MBAM was up-to-date or installed properly when this detection occurred, since they had another "computer expert" come in to fix some things while I was away over the weekend. le sigh When I checked their programs in appwiz.cpl, a lot of programs had different install dates than when I had installed them, including MBAM, so hopefully this computer guy didn't break things and I'm not wasting anyone's time with this issue. MBAMSERVICE.LOG MBAMSERVICE.LOG.zip
  5. I just had MBAM Premium detect a DropBox Windows HKLM Registry Key as Ransomware. I was moving files around inside my DropBox folder when this happened, so MBAM probably picked up on the DropBox.exe process "modifying" (AKA Syncing) these files to the cloud en masse, killed the process, and blocked it from executing. I'd like to first say amazing job at blocking Ransomware in its' tracks - um... if it was actually Ransomware. Malwarebytes version: 3.0.6.1469 Component package version: 1.0.103 Update package version: 1.0.1763 No big deal, as I'll just reinstall DropBox and start its' sync process again, and probably whitelist it in MBAM, but I thought I's share in case this has happened to anyone else.
  6. My my, that's quite a ... colorful back ground you've made there Too busy for my tastes, but definitely full of energy!
  7. Nothing at the moment, since I'm waiting for series to end so I can bingewatch them all at once. When they become available to me, these are on my watchlist: The 100 Season 4 Suits Season 6 & 7 Reign Season 3 & 4 Designated Survivor (because Kiefer Sutherland is always RUNNING OUT OF TIME!) LetterKenny Season 2 The Last Kingdom Vikings
  8. Currently I'm re-experiencing Shakira's first hit album Laundry Service for only about the 100th time. I also can't stop listening to Janet Devlin's Outernet track, another recent discovery courtesy of Spotify's Discover Weekly playlist.
  9. Hi Michael! Depending on how tech savvy you are already, you might be perfectly ready to leap into the world of computer programming, and CodeCademy is a good place to start. I've done most of the JavaScript and HTML lessons there, just to brush up on best practices and see how much of it I already knew. It was fairly easy, and is explained well through their online course platform. I have yet to try any of their paid lessons yet though, so don't take this as an endorsement. You might find that you love the programming side of code more so than the design aspect, and thus going to school for it like @David H. Lipman suggested provides great experience, if you can apply yourself to such a thing. Either taking a full fledged CompSci course with a focus on programming works, or even doing an 8 week code bootcamp, similar to what https://lighthouselabs.ca offers us on the West Coast of Canada. Programming does require a lot more critical thinking and attention to higher level logic and math skils though, so keep that in mind. This is why I decided to focus on hardware and software configuration instead of carrying on with Computer Programming in high school. I enjoy working with my hands to create something or solve a problem for a client, so becoming an independent technician and frontend web developer made more sense for me since they don't require my brain cells to work so hard. But hey, if you've got the drive to program, go for it! Any other questions, don't hesitate to ask!
  10. Great to hear MBAM and Discord are both already on the case. As of 13:33 PST (GMT-8) hours, cdn.discordapp.com is still being blocked. But I'm sure it'll be resolved soon.
  11. As a computer technician (among other technical roles) with over 10 years experience, I cannot believe your intentions laid out in your post... I've relied on MBAM for almost 6 years now, and on tools on BleepingComputer.com (JRT, ADWCleaner, RKill, etc.) longer than that - all of which were developed by the community, for the community. These tools are indispensable when it comes to cleaning up infected machines and keeping consumers safe when connecting any computer to a network. Eventually, these people have to eat, pay bills, and take care of loved ones, so it only makes sense that they have to make just a wee bit of money to do such things. MBAM, like any other company, has employees, researchers, and office staff to pay for their hard work. They have families to take care of, and deserve to be paid for the amazing work they do and tools they provide in the security community, most of which are totally free. I remember; I bought 3 lifetime licenses. They're still lifetime, unlike a few other pieces of software and Android Apps I've purchased for life, only to get converted to a paying user. MBAM isn't throwing the customers who supported them in the beginning under the bus - they're honoring and supporting lifetime customers. Anti-Ransomware technology is something we're all going to need looking into the future - ransomware has proven to be much more effective in extorting money from not only regular users, but from the banking and medical sectors as well. Wouldn't it be better for the technology to exist as a paid product than not at all? This one is my opinion: MBAM Free was created to help users cleanse their computers after infection, so their computers are safe again. Once safe, then the users can consider purchasing preventative protection software, which is why MBAM Premium exists, and also why MBAM Free will probably always be Free. I truly hope your opinion changes @mbam-is-extortionware, because the rate of malware infections and security research is advancing at an alarming rate.
