  1. Thanks Borislav.......the OTC program only removed 1 or maybe 2 of the logs, so just deleted rest of them and the JRT prog manually. I did have them in a separate folder, but took them out before running that OTC prog. The ADW one went poof like a charm. So all references, progs and logs are now gone from the desktop and I had a look thru Windows Explorer and didn't see any of them under Desktop or the ADW one. I am very pleased with the removal methods and the way you dealt with this. It has been years since I had malware/viruses and used to be able to remove the easier ones. They a
  2. Wonderful!! Much faster at everything. I thought the wireless mouse was acting up but it appears it was all that JUNK that was on here (laptop is 2.5 years old). Thank you so much. Have a couple of questions.... 1. How to I get rid of these AppData Local files?? Just delete them in Windows Explorer when they pile up or use the Junk Remover Tool?? ***[Empty Folder] C:\Users\Heather\appdata\local\{2FE85C5A-1059-489D-8E61-D68A7D0CE3F1} 2. Is everything clean on here now? Just ran another MBAM scan and it was clean. Think I should invest in the PRO version. Many thanks again.....
  3. Darnit.....this keeps getting away from me.......hitting the wrong key I guess. The last scan is the CLEAN scan from 12:29 today which should show all of those registry items gone. I am afraid I don't know quite what I am doing and I apologize. Thanks.......Figgs/Heather
  4. Hi Borislav....I am sorry for the mix-up. This new version 3.0 has a Scan and a Clean button, no Delete. I ran the Scan then hit the Clean and it appears from what is in the Log from yesterday, that I did clean it. But I will put yesterday's CLEAN log out (Aug 22) and also the TWO created today. Perhaps it used to just do one, but it does two now. Btw, it is opening up much faster now that it has been cleaned......and also the Firefox Identity that it removed is probably because I reset Firefox in an effort to get rid of this malware. Firefox suggested that in its Help Files. OK.....
  5. A THOUSAND APOLOGIES for posting this to the wrong thread which I had open to double check something. I feel like such an idiot, but if it is going to happen to anyone, it will be ME!!!! ====================================================== I will start again, but first I have a question........when I tried to download AdwCleaner via your link to Bleeping Computer, it wouldn't download (just tried it again from the other guy's thread and it still won't). Same with their website, once I deciphered the French. Mine is minimal. For some strange reason, I noticed that it was a new version
  6. I am SO SORRY!!! I had this open checking something and replied to it instead of my own. I will now hide my head in shame and copy the information over to MY enquiry....... Again.......so sorry........if something is going to get messed up, I usually manage to do it. I have the same malware and .....well, blame it on old age!! Heather.
  7. I was doing so well and had copied over the reports and hit the wrong key and managed to delete everything I put on here, aarrgghh!!!! I will start again, but first I have a question........when I tried to download AdwCleaner via your link to Bleeping Computer, it wouldn't download (just tried it again and it still won't). Same with their website, once I deciphered the French. Mine is minimal. For some strange reason, I noticed that it was a new version 3.0........so I found it at CNET I believe. The logo is now blue instead of an orange bug. 4 days ago I was reading all the instructio
  8. I got a strange search page hijacker about Aug. 4th after downloading a photo editing program from a friend's link. Not the company's website which I didn't notice. I immediately realized what had happened and started hunting, etc. and removed a lot of malware manually. (conduit was one....another started with "S" I believe). Problem is I then got the subject malware appearing every few days in different spots and MBAM caught it and I removed it. But I know there must still be stuff in the registry and that is something I do not touch. I will copy over the dds. results and hope yo
  9. But of course, mon ami! Glad to read your face again. I was surprised you saw this. I am an Admin on a UK Genealogy Forum which is extremely similar to this one and one of these days I will figure it out, lol.
  10. Thanks Fatdcuk....I will restore them now. It was just a minor point, but wanted to make sure before I did that seeing as the System 32 file was replaced. You are up late!! Cheers....from Canada
  11. Glad to officially hear that it is a false alarm, but one small question. I still have the original 17 alleged trojans in quarantine.....and when I ran MBAM midday, had 19 but didn't quarantine them. Noticed then that the System 32 file was rebuilt.....so should those quarantines be returned or deleted. My educated guess is ignore them. But would like to hear from you what to do. First time on this Forum, and must say that your program is super!! Only one I am using other than SpywareBlaster......and Avast of course. Oh, and I put Zone Alarm on last night when I thought I was infested
  12. OK....should have come here first!! This has driven me nuts since last night and I ended up putting Zone Alarm on because I checked my ports at GRC and it said 80 and 443 were open. That mystified me, so better safe than sorry. I didn't quarantine this batch.....last night it was 17.....today it was 19. Thanks.....Figgs
