  1. Hello @radunn, Can you turn on the debug mode: https://support.malwarebytes.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038520134-Malwarebytes-AdwCleaner-Application-settings to generate a more detailed report showing the culprit for this BSOD? Then run AdwCleaner as usual, run a scan + clean to trigger a BSOD, reboot, and share the file C:\AdwCleaner\Logs\AdwCleaner_debug.log please. Regards,
  2. Hello, Thanks @1PW for the assistance! @CheonHoPark: I went through your logs and video, but I don't see any reason to explain the issue you faced and how it got fixed.. It's also the first report I'm hearing about it but I'll stay on the lookout to see if there is a pattern. Best regards,
  3. We are happy to release AdwCleaner 8.4.2! It's a bugfix release that focuses on fixing an issue with the way we validate a new AdwCleaner binary during the update process. Nothing new apart from that in this release, but we're working on a major upgrade of most components, and this is going to be a big release. Stay tuned! Changelog: ## v8.4.2 [04/03/2024] ### Changes * Update bundled definitions to 2024.03.04.1 ### Bugfixes * Fix the updater process verification mechanism failure and migrate from OpenSSL to Wincrypt. Download here: https://www.malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner
  4. Hello, This has been fixed, the CDN cleaning process took a bit longer than usual and we ended up in a "in-between" test. All good now!
  5. Hello, After a long period without receiving public facing updates, I'm very happy to share a new release for AdwCleaner, 8.4.1. This is a maintenance version to fix a security vulnerability and update the bundled definitions. Many of you have questions and are curious regarding what's next for AdwCleaner, and I hope to be able to share more about that soon. Regardless, we should now be back on track to release more regular and valuable updates! Please share your feature requests and any suggestions you would like to see implemented! Thanks to everyone who submits vulnerability reports, we love to receive them! As usual, see the changelog below: ## v8.4.1 [29/01/2024] ### Changes * Update bundled definitions to 2024.01.29.1 ### Bugfixes * Fix Privilege Escalation when deleting debug logfiles (CVE-2023-28892 - https://www.malwarebytes.com/secure/cves/cve-2023-28892) Download here: https://malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner
  6. Hello @Grunty, Sorry for the delay, I wanted to reply sooner but got sidetracked. There is no "purchase package" for AdwCleaner as of today, however we want AdwCleaner to be useful to everyone, that's why we included the following in the EULA: Does it cover your use-case? Please DM me if not so we can discuss further.
  7. I'm not sure where the issue comes from, I've reverted the latest backend stack update and it seems to be ok (please confirm 🤞) I'll dig deeper before rolling it out again..
  8. Hello, Do you confirm you have issues with this link, or with another one?
  9. Sorry about that. I think I finally identified the issue, and fixed it. Can you retry to confirm?
  10. Hello, We finally released a new version of AdwCleaner, 8.4. It contains quite a few changes over the last version, learn more below! AdwCleaner now scans and remediate malicious modifications of the "new" Microsoft Edge browser. After Firefox, Chromium and variants, it's Edge's turn to be covered. In a more technical aspect, we added the `/uninstall` command line switch and re-implemented the uninstallation logic to make it much more robust (as a reminder, AdwCleaner doesn't exactly install anything, by "uninstallation" we mean removing folders and files that AdwCleaner need to function properly, something that can also be done by hand). We also fixed a security vulnerability with regards to how we used to handle mountpoints and symbolic links. Thanks to everyone who submits vulnerability reports, we love to receive them! As usual, see the changelog below: ## v8.4.0 [22/08/2022] ### New Features * Now also supports Microsoft Edge browser * Improve the uninstallation flow, and add a `/uninstall` command to the CLI. ### Changes * Update bundled definitions to 2022.08.22.1 ### Bugfixes * Fix security issue when dealing with mountpoints and symlinks. * Some deleted items were not displayed in the quarantine * Fix Chrome-based browsers scanning logic Download here: https://malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner
  11. @TarunThe fix is now live. Let me know if you're still running into issues!
  12. Thanks for the write-up, it's a good finding indeed, it seems I may have overlooked this. I've tested with a new configuration and I will deploy it shortly, you may have to update the code on your end..
  13. Ok, keep me posted! I would focus on IPv6 compatibility with your code maybe, it's my main theory.
  14. So it's working well here. Can you share more context about the code you're using in your tool?
  15. Hello @Tarun, Sorry for the delay, I just got back from vacations. Does it work fine if you use the links below in a web browser, and you're only facing the problem within your tool? Can you try in `cmd.exe` with `curl -vvvv https://downloads.malwarebytes.com/file/adwcleaner` and share the output?
  16. Yes, thanks 👍 The CDN seemed to have been desynchronized, I spent another few hours to get why it didn't work for some of you and I hope I've now completely fixed it. Thanks for your patience,
  17. @FetzBox22Thanks! Can you retry now, and let me know how it behaves for you?
  18. @Steve1982Sorry for the delay - I fixed the issue so I thought it was sorted out and I don't have this issue.. Can you send me another debug logfile + a scan logfile? Note that I have some long-awaited time off coming on, so I might not be able to answer for a couple weeks, sorry in advance for the delay..
  19. Hello, This has been fixed, sorry for the issue. Note that this is no longer officially supported. The official and recommended link is https://downloads.malwarebytes.com/file/adwcleaner, or you can use the links directly from the updater's manifest if you want to get alpha and beta versions: https://adwcleaner.malwarebytes.com/manifest/v1.json
  20. Hello, Just to acknowledge the issue. I hope to have a fix early next week - I'll follow up.
  21. We are happy to finally share with you the new AdwCleaner 8.3.2! It contains many small bugfixes, and we also spent a lot of time working on improving the web browsers module. However we have been facing more challenges than expected, so we weren't able to ship all the changes we wanted to initially - that new feature will be completed in the next release. The changelog is available below: ## v8.3.2 [23/03/2022] ### Changes * Enhance logging around process termination * Ongoing work to improve the web browsers module * Logfiles are now sorted by ID (rather than alphabetical as previously) * Update definitions to 2022.03.15.1 * Update translations. ### Bugfixes * Fix a DLL hijacking issue. * Fix the Portuguese translation. You can download the new version here: https://www.malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner
