  1. @Steve1982 The current Beta version is 1.4.5 released on 11 August 2020 expiring on 09 November 2020. I am not aware of the stable version The definitions are: Call Protection 1.0.2020100923 (dated 09/10/2020) Web Protection 1.0.2020100923 (dated 09/10/2020) AdBlocker 1.0.2020100717 (dated 07/10/2020) I hope it will be useful to you
  2. I understood what you wrote above. It would be nice to know the reasons why Safari 14 for iOS yes and Safari 14 for macOS no: shouldn't be more or less the same App? @treed can you update us on this?
  3. @alvarnell , can you explain something to me? The web-related part of Malwarebytes for iOS (web protection and ad-blocker) that works on Safari what is different from these new Safari 14 extensions that you think are not implementable? I use macOS and iOS but know nothing about software development Thank you
  4. Automatically installed upgrade to the new beta 4.6.9 No problems with Catalina 10.15.6 (+ August supplemental update) No Big Sur because my Mac was banned (as I had already written)
  5. On Safari, third-party cookies cannot be disabled or enabled: they are rejected by the system by default and ITP is Apple's proprietary system that uses AI to block cross-site tracking
  6. Yes, you can install Malwarebytes Browser Guard on both Firefox and Chromium Based browsers on macOS. However, I prefer Safari as, being supplied with the system, it is much better in my opinion. I use Firefox on Windows. To Chrome and the like, being Google, I'm a bit allergic due to the standard total tracking. I think Safari is much better in terms of privacy. For example, there is no possibility of third-party cookies and uses the Intelligent Tracking Prevention (if you want to read up on this, click here)
  7. @exile360 I'm sorry but I didn't make myself clear. I have to connect from two different networks but both of my own (in two different places) and never from public networks. So I need ad blocker that works independently of the single Lan And that's why Malwarebytes Browser Guard for Safari (web protection, ad-blocker, etc.) would be useful.
  8. Using a MacBook I need an ad-blocker not on the local network but that travels with my Mac (I hope Ka-Block! continues to work being still available with Safari 14 on the Mac AppStore)
  9. And what do you use as an ad blocker (possibly free)? (I use KA-Block! - do you say it will still work?)
  10. Yet on the Mac AppStore there have been Norton SafeWeb and Norton Safe Web Plus for some time (which you advised against me, advice I followed given your experience on Mac) and several Ad-Blocks so I don't understand why Malwarebytes' one cannot exist. @treed can you update us on this?
  11. Safari 14 released now for Catalina (with compatibility with new extensions). We await comment from @treed
  12. After scanning with Malwarebytes and removing everything, restart your Mac and then try following How to remove the after-effects of adware. If you then have problems with the internet follow Internet connection lost after malware removal
  13. a difference of 30/40 seconds (in most cases) compared to before. Seldom more. I started noticing this recently. Earlier I thought the Mac was stuck and I forced restart by holding down the power key. In the early days, as I wrote, after waking up, for some apps (not always the same - it happened to me with Safari, Messages for example) some times the icon re-bounced (sometimes with a beach ball) when I launched them and there too I forced the restart (probably if I had waited longer it would have unlocked but the app appeared not responding) even if sometimes I was able to force the ap
  14. Read here. Why Malwarebytes scans so fast on Mac devices PS: my Mac also takes about 3 seconds. My Windows (however little used) with the threat scan takes just over a minute. The long scan on Windows is done with the custom scan which is not recommended if not rarely: on Windows just run the threat scan once a day.
  15. I also tried it on Catalina 10.15.6 (with Supplementary Update installed) and everything works fine. Unfortunately I am one of the excluded from Big Sur. The only remaining problem (despite a reinstallation of macOS from Recovery and a clean installation of macOS) is a slowdown in waking up from stand-by (once the password is entered it takes much longer to appear on the desktop). Considering that the problem (along with the others later solved) arose after installing the first version that used Apple's new System Extensions, @treed I would like to ask you: it could be due to h
  16. Only flaw. He created two identical posts for me (except for a mistake in the title) and it is no longer possible to edit the posts). Why? Update. I found the editing function
  17. New version of the forum! Fantastic and excellent readability
  18. For the moment thanks @alvarnell All that remains is to wait for an opinion from a staff member
  19. On the Spider-Mac Apple User Group (online community officially recognized by Apple) in Italy, I participated in a discussion about the app Open Any Files di Rocky Sand Studio Ltd. In the discussion it turned out that the app in question would no longer have the misbehavior of advertising other invalid software. I would like to ask if with the released version updates (latest being 1.2.6 roughly 7 months ago), which according to the group manager would have eliminated the misbehavior the app in question should still be detected as OSX.FakeFileOpener. @treed or other Malwarebytes for Mac
  20. Is there anything known about, at least as far as Malwarebytes is concerned, the new Mac Malware infecting the XCode projects found by TrendMicro (link here on TrendMicro Blog XCSSET Mac Malware: Infects Xcode Projects, Performs UXSS Attack on Safari, Other Browsers, Leverages Zero-day Exploits)? Thanks Greetings Massimiliano
  21. Frequent checking is actually useful. It is true that they are rarely updated but in two cases it has happened to me (I have been using MWB for macOS since the first beta released in July 2017) twice in which there were three updates in one day (probably for variants of the same malware). I read a while ago that one new malware per month on the Mac platform means a busy month.
  22. @tonytomlinson For a test, you can re-scan with Malwarebytes, follow its cleaning instructions and then empty the quarantine. Given the symptoms (modification of the search engine) it may be ad-aware. Restart the Mac Follow the instructions contained in these two posts by @treed How to remove the after-effects of adware If you then have problems with the internet connection Internet connection lost after malware removal
  23. @exile360 , @GuruGuy I received the definition update 4.0.493 on 07/31/2020. Today, however, I turned on the Mac at 11:30AM (Italian time) and the check was done (regularly displayed in the menu) and it was redone at 12:00PM (always displayed) without downloading anything therefore I can say that, at least to me, they work correctly as in the past. It rarely happens that it skips an hourly deadline. @GuruGuy DTBS version cited by @1PW are the definition version updates I only have a few problems (very rarely) when I wake up the Mac: in these cases it can happen that an app (no
