In-depth scanning as a possible choice, not mandatory, allows anyone who wants to protect the entire system; if alvarnell does not want to be totally protected is free to do so. Google SafeBrowsing is not omnipotent, a better security without breaking down its performance (windows does not have any performance crashes, I do not see why it should happen in macOS) is only positive.     I have a macbook pro 2012 with ssd with filevault with macOS Sierra 10.12.6 I installed the malwarebytes 3.0 beta for mac and did not have any problems When the official release was released I uninstalled the beta and installed the official one and I had no problem When MalwareBytes notified the presence of an update I installed it on the previous version without making any uninstallation and even here no problem. In the last release the only thing missing is the version of definitions for the rest is all ok.

    IOS antivirus does not exist but some software houses develop protection apps from harmful web content and limitation of websites that are categorized by the user amongst the intended categories.     Anti-everything protection is not needed, but a full-fledged protection can be desirable even at the web level without worsening the performance of the mac.
