1PW,Thanks. : MBAM Clean Removal Process 2.x. did the trick. You would think MalwareBytes itself would tell me to do this or even have some way around the problem.

ver 2.2.1.1043 Windows 7 Scan works normally through Check for Updates, Pre-scan Operations, and Scan for Rootkits, reporting 274 objects scanned. Then in an instant it goes through the remaining operations, Scan Memory, Scan Startup Files, Scan Registry, Scan File System, and Heuristic Analysis checking each off, but obviously not doing anything. Used to work. What happened?
