MBAM3 prevented upgrade to CCleaner
Hawaii_Beach replied to mightaswell's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
it's not only cc -
I don't really know what's going on, but at rare occasions malwarebytes will lock files I frequency access. For example when I develop applications, and QA them by frequently writing to disk, or any IO activity really. Upon trying to delete the file, the computer will say that I don't have sufficient permissions (administrator account, which I already am using). I've also tried using Unlocker without any success. Today when I tried updating Dell Display Manager the installer had failed saying that the main executable (ddm.exe) was 'locked' and it couldn't proceed. I downloaded Process Explorer and used the Find Handle function and searched for the executable. It came up as used by MBAMService.exe, so I shut off Malwarebytes, and then the file just disappeared (the 'locked' exe file). I highly suspect this is caused by Malwarebytes, and would appricate if anyone could take a closer look, I cannot be the only affected user. Malwarebytes 3.2.2.2018 Windows 10 build 15063

I am not a part of the staff of the website, have opened a ticket to the staff so they can remove the file you mentioned. How about this happening in the future? Maybe Malwarebytes should establish contact with the owners of Gamebanana so files with malware get deleted. Anyone can register and upload content, it's a content sharing website for games (and gamers) so this isn't the first time, and not the last time either.

Guys, they this is getting old. Gamebanana.com

You shouldn't even be using EAC, the developers have a kinda dark story behind them

tcpip.sys tcpip.sys BSOD Insider 14965
Hawaii_Beach replied to Hawaii_Beach's topic in BSOD, Crashes, Kernel Debugging
I don't know what the hell Intel Technology Access is but I haven't installed it - I know what I put on my computer, or do I - after all I'm running Windows 10... Now I don't know what the hell is going on. Somehow Malwarebytes causes my stuff to break, but without Malwarebytes I never get these weird bsods n stuff. We need some support from a guy knowing Intel software... -

Some more research and it seems like ndisrfl.sys is the ethernet card driver..? -

So the driver verifier caused my computer to throw DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION (bsod), never got to my desktop. A quick research and it points to ndisrfl.sys which is Intel(R) Technology Access Filter Driver ?!?! waah this stuff is so deep! Went and turned on safeboot and disabled the verifier, here's a full memory dump and one from the minidump folder: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-UGaCd9HSqgTm9fdFNqUTZWYVU/view?usp=sharing -

Hawaii_Beach replied to Hawaii_Beach's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
Thanks a lot! Restarted > BSOD > Restarted again > Works! Yes, and ofc I'm running this as admin?? -
So I installed the Malwarebytes 3 beta 3, today I uninstalled it (to move to the stable branch), installing the stable version it fails and is unable to unpack mbae64.sys in C:\Windows\System32\drivers. I went to the folder and tried to delete mbae64.sys and it didn't let me saying that it is used by another process? I uninstalled malwarebytes....

Weird, used uTorrent today when Malwarebytes was turned on, and got a BSOD after ~20 seconds after adding torrent to download list. When I restarted my computer, I shut off malwarebytes and didn't bsod... Very sure that it isn't my driver since they are working perfectly, also BSODed one time when I was using the Arma 3 Launcher server browser (a game) with same exception error and points to the same tcpip.sys 112916-4656-01.zip btw sorry for late reply, just waited until another bsod to come so i could blame it on malwarebytes again -

Already running latest Intel I217-V drivers, and as I said it only BSOD when utilizing the entire bandwidth I have which is about 11MB/s - and requires waiting... about 5mins and it goes blue -

BSOD upgrading to Insider 14942
Hawaii_Beach replied to Hawaii_Beach's topic in BSOD, Crashes, Kernel Debugging
Yes, should be noted that I am running the premium version of MBAM. But only this insider has made my computer bsod at all, I have ran multiple rootkit scans before I upgraded to 14942 and never had a bsod... -
BSOD upgrading to Insider 14942
Hawaii_Beach replied to Hawaii_Beach's topic in BSOD, Crashes, Kernel Debugging
Yep, had to keep restart my computer until it automaticly started "automatic repair", then I opened a CMD window and set the computer to boot into safe mode.
