  1. One additional note. The dialogs appear while Firefox is open but no one is sitting at the computer. It may be hours later. FYI. Echo
  2. Thanks for the reassurance RE keyloggers. Unfortunately, the attached "firefox patch" occurred within one day of resetting Firefox per your last post. Usually it takes at least a week to recur. NB: I did download a free trial to Zemana Anti-Keylogger from zermana.com and it detected one problem in a MSI*.TMP file in C:\WIndows\Installer that was removed. Earlier this month, I also received the "computer blocked" event attached. I discarded this event (with Task Manager "End Process", as always), as a one-off but now I am not so sure. FYI. Thanks.
  3. I did the browser resets and ran TFC (nothing found). It may take a few weeks to confirm the firefox patch dialog is gone. In the meantime, I am very concerned that my current problem may include a key logger. I know we ran Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit (MBAR) earlier in this thread. Can you recommend a more comprehensive anti-key logger? I am considering Zemana. Thanks.
  4. It has been at least one month. Just received the dialog below while running Firefox but computer was not in use (no browsing). Very stubborn problem. Please advise.
  5. I have removed all references to any Java plug-in in my Firefox add-ons screen. We should know in about a week if this has made a difference. I will also look into removing Java entirely from my PC. Thanks.
  6. I have searched this thread and see no mention of "TFC" temp cleaner. Please indicate from where to download and how to run. Thanks - Echo
  7. We just received the attached Firefox patch while browsing with Zillo. Should we uninstall Java?
  8. Our PC continues to run very well. Where do I make my donation? Perhaps we could leave this thread open another 7 days to make sure the patch dialog is gone. Is there one particular log I can examine to see the removed threat? Thanks for all your help. Echo
  9. My PC appears normal. Sometime over the past 2 weeks of this thread my Bluetooth mouse stopped working. Let me know if you see anything in the logs that would account for this. It is an Apple Magic Mouse, has been running for years, and is not critical. Perhaps the driver was stopped. The last unwanted patch dialog was Thursday, September 15. We need to give it another 7 days before concluding the dialog is gone. If we could leave this thread open I will either post a new patch dialog or reply to this thread in 7 days indicating the threat is likely gone. Thanks. Echo
  10. Attached. Does CHKDSK write a log file? Addition.txt FRST.txt
  11. No malware found. If the problem is still present, I will receive a dialog like the one at the beginning of this thread within 7 days. Thanks. mbar-log-2016-09-17 (13-29-38).txt system-log.txt
  12. See attached tdsskiller logs. TDSSKiller.3.1.0.11_16.09.2016_10.22.26_log.txt TDSSKiller.3.1.0.11_16.09.2016_10.27.30_log.txt
