  1. You definately need at least an anti-virus along with MBAM (I usually recommend Avira if going for a freebie, or Kaspersky or NOD32 if paying), as MBAM is not an anti-virus, but is designed to detect the threats that most anti-virus programs miss. An internet security suite isn't a bad idea either, as it gives you a software firewall which is always a good layer of protection to have.

  2. Hi guys, to answer your question, please review my post here: http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.p...ost&p=40573 It explains it pretty well. If you need anything else let me know. Good luck and safe surfing.

edit: Oh yeah, and as far as other realtime antispyware/antimalware apps go, I don't know of any that conflict with MBAM (including all those you listed VHT).

  3. That's very true Mad Dog, most of them just come here for help (this forum's pretty good for that), then they bail, leaving the forum feeling cheap and used, like a sock lost in the dryer never to be found again.

  4. Greetings trouttrout, and welcome. I'm glad you're lurving it (heh heh) and no worries about exposing your ugly mug around here, I've got a face not even a mother could love, a platypus maybe, but not a mother.

  5. Hello IT Expert. Unfortunately you can't edit posts until you've reached 50 posts, the mods implemented this to prevent spam and editing of HijackThis logs in the help forum. As far as the keys go, each license for Malwarebytes' is lifetime, no renewal fees or subscription fees, so no worries about activation times. And as far as logos goes, please refer to the zip file attached to this post by Rubber Ducky: http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.p...ost&p=31259 And as far as a link, I would PM one of the mods like Rubber Ducky or Nosirrah about that and they should provide you with one so customers can purchase it direct from your site giving you your payment as a reseller.

  6. Sorry to butt in, but...no yearly subscription fees? One payment forever?

Hmm...I need to look into this. And maybe recommend a few people.

No worries about butting in, and I'm sure the developers appreciate you recommending the software.

  7. Yeah, Malwarebytes' uses the same settings as Internet Explorer, so it's highly possible (even likely) that when you altered those settings it messed with MBAM's ability to update. And have yourself a happy and safe holiday as well. ;)

  8. No problemo, scooter, MBAM's easy enough to reinstall, takes hardly any time at all. Just reinstall and reboot if necessary and updating should go much smoother now. There may still be errors from time to time until the next version which is due shortly, but it should be much better than it's been the past couple of days.

  9. Greetings stef, and welcome. It's possible that some component of the program became corrupted. Please uninstall Malwarebytes', reboot then reinstall it. Download the latest signatures, then do a scan again and see if things don't improve. Please post back with your results.

edit: since your system is being analyzed in a HijackThis thread, I want you to ignore my instructions as no changes should be made to your system right now except those that the expert who's helping you recommends.

  10. Greetings and welcome. To get Malwarebytes' to work, please follow AdvancedSetup's instructions here: http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.p...amp;#entry35969

Once you have done that, please read the instructions here:

    http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=2936

and post your logs in a new topic here:

    http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showforum=7

Please be sure not to install any software or use any removal/scanning tools exept those that you are

instructed to by the expert who will be assisting you as doing so can make their job much more difficult.

I hope I was helpful. Good luck and safe surfing.

  11. Yeah, the site's had some serious issues lately, and there have also been some problems with updating in the software as well (but I think only in the pro version with auto updates), but the auto update issue is something I believe they said they were going to fix with a new version in the next few weeks.

  12. It's been doing it like clockwork here so let's hope the hardware fix solves it. But, it has also been doing it on both update sites for me.

I think the issue you're having (and most of the users with auto update issues) has more to do with what's getting fixed in the next version than the site issues (although yesterday and today have been terrible as far as the servers go).

  13. It doesn't look as though they see it as problematic enough to correct it.

I believe one of the developers mentioned fixing this in the next build, which they expect to roll out within the next few weeks. And as far as malwarebytes.org goes, a mod in another thread said that one of the servers had a hardware failure and is now fixed, and steps were taken to prevent it from happening again.
