  1. Greetings This usually occurs if you are running the software from a limited user account. You should be able to log into an administrative user account or run the program as administrator and be able to update.
  2. This might be something, though I'm not sure. From the above link provided by AdvancedSetup: If N360P refers to Norton 360 Premiere, then the patch should be available for that version.
  3. I believe it gets deleted. At least it always has for me (usually after reboot once it's been used).
  4. I am skeptical to the point of believing that it is just a rock. Having done a lot of hiking out in the rocky wilderness of Albuquerque, New Mexico years back and seeing tons of natural rock and dirt formations of various sizes and shapes, many of which resembled everyday things, be they plant, animal, human, alien, technological or 'other' even though they were all just dirt and stone; I'm pretty sure that's all this is.
  5. Greetings and welcome We correctly detect this entry as PUM which means Potentially Unwanted Modification. We use this detection type for changes made to system settings which are known to be modified by malware. If you are the one who made this change then you may add this detection to your ignore list. You may also change how Malwarebytes Anti-Malware handles any future PUM detections via the drop down menu provided for it under Scanner Settings in the Settings tab.
  6. I'm not sure about Conduit, but as far as I know, we've never detected Ask. Ask is pretty much on par with Google and MSN/MS Bing as far as toolbars go. They always have an opt-out option in software installers and don't really do much other than show you search results from their search engine and gather statistical data (which all search engines do anyway, even if not using their toolbar as that's how they rank results and gauge the popularity of links/websites and handle their 'targeted' adverts).
  7. You might try clearing your browser cache too and then using Task Manager to kill Flash Player's process, then try viewing the video(s) in question again. It could be a Flash hiccup causing it. You should also see if you can view other videos from other YouTube channels as it might be something specific to that particular channel/server etc.
  8. I used PSI for a while, but kept finding it to be lacking with regards to actually notifying me in a timely manner when a piece of software was out of date. I check for software updates pretty regularly manually and found that PSI would almost never notify me of a software being out of date before I'd already updated it on my own. If you use OSI as David recommended or actually use the manual scanner in PSI, it works just fine because it checks then and there for outdated software, however the 'realtime' monitor in PSI is what I have issues with because, as I said, it doesn't seem to check as regularly as it should to be of any real use to me.
  9. It's working fine for me here. I've had this happen to me before and it just went away on its own eventually and YouTube started working again. I've no idea of the cause, but it's nothing system specific as when it happened to me and was subsequently 'fixed', I hadn't altered anything with regards to my system configuration. It's likely just an issue with whatever server YouTube is pointing you to for the specific video(s) in question.
  10. If it's the site being blocked (although it isn't blocked for me, and I'm using the latest database), please read and follow the instructions in this post and post the requested information in a new topic here.
  11. Where did you hear that? It's news to me and I'm the Product Manager for Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.
  12. We don't read files at the same time as your antivirus. They read on access and on creation, we read on execution which is after your antivirus has already analyzed them. This means that if a threat is detected and removed by your antivirus, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware will never see it. If your antivirus misses the threat completely, allowing the threat to try and execute, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware will block and remove the threat.
  13. Greetings and welcome If using the consumer version of the product, there is no way, however if you're using the business version, then you can use mbamAPI to do so. If you're business user, refer to the Malwarebytes Corporate Documentation for more info or contact Business Support if you don't have a copy of it and they'll send you a copy.
  14. This may be a silly question, but does the screen have built in speakers of its own? I know that some monitors do, and if connected to the PCs audio jacks, it could explain what's going on. As for a 'drip' sound specifically, I see you have Skype installed, and the sound it makes when someone messages you does sound like a water drop. As for the tick, I'm not sure, but Steam has a sound that sort of sounds like a metallic 'tick' sound when someone messages you on that.
  15. Back when I was a tech at a repair shop, I noticed the same thing. It seems they use different model/product numbers (usually 2) for each product. One used publicly (i.e. for customers/store shelves/adverts) and another 'internally' (e.g. for repairs/ordering parts). It's weird, but you should be fine.
  16. DDA stands for Direct Disk Access, and is required for rootkit scanning. Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit needs this driver installed in order to be able to detect and remove most rootkits and is needed for it to function properly on any operating system, including Windows 8. It's possible that another process is blocking it from doing so, such as your antivirus or third party firewall if you use one. Additionally, once the driver has done its work, it gets removed by Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit, so it doesn't stay loaded on your system permanently (much the same as the DDA driver used in the scanner of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware).
  17. Malwarebytes Anti-Rookti BETA says it is expired even though I've downloaded the latest version This is a known issue which occurs when you've run Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit BETA previously and then move the tool to a different location and attempt to run it again. To correct this problem, do either of the following: Option 1: Move the mbar folder to its previous location Navigate to the location where you are attempting to run Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit from and right-click on the folder containing mbar.exe and select Cut Navigate to the location from which you originally had the tool stored when it last worked without error and right-click in any empty space within that folder and select Paste Open the folder you just placed in the new location and run mbar.exe again and it should work without error Option 2: Download and run a fresh copy of Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit from the new location Note: Any scan logs from Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit from previous scans will be deleted using this method unless you move them to another location first before proceeding Delete the folder containing mbar.exe from your computer (the folder is named mbar by default) Download a new copy of Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit BETA from this page Extract the folder to the new location from which you wish to run the tool Open the folder you just created and run mbar.exe again and it should function properly
  18. That's great, thank you for posting and for supporting our product and our company !Also, if your boss would like more info on the business versions of our product, it may be found on our website here or he may contact our Sales department directly for information, including a custom quote to suit your company's specific needs here.
  19. Instructions on downloading and using Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit BETA may be found here
  20. You won't be able to add mbam.sys because Norton won't actually let you view the System32 folder (it gets redirected by Windows itself to SysWOW64 because it is a 32 bit program).mbamswissarmy.sys will not be present unless you are currently running a scan with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, but that file should not need to be excluded for compatibility so you should be fine.
  21. Yep, that's a change I wanted to see as well. I think we still will do so, but it's a matter of also moving all those website FP topics into a new area as well, separating them from file FPs.
  22. Greetings Yes, we're aware of it and have contacted Symantec already. They've agreed to remove the message in a future update as there is actually no conflict between the two of them.
  23. This could have been a temporary issue with our CDN which handles the updates in your area. Such problems occur from time to time but are usually fixed quickly. If it happens again, please don't hesitate to contact us, especially if it lasts longer than a day (though it shouldn't take that long to correct itself in most cases).
  24. It may help, thanks for the additional info . Also, in a future release (ETA unknown at this time) we actually plan to implement an option allowing users to set a delay for the startup of the protection module in Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, thus enabling users to configure it to startup with a delay when needed for compatibility. It's also adjustable so the delay may be shorter or longer depending on what's needed for compatibility. That being said, the goal is always to simply eliminate these compatibility issues when they emerge so that no additional steps are needed on the part of the user, so hopefully that will be the case with this issue.
  25. Thanks for reporting this. I've asked our Quality Assurance team to look into it. Hopefully we can replicate it and then get it corrected if there's anything that we can do on our end to do so. Otherwise, if a fix is needed from ESET, then I hope they're speedy to find and fix it.
