  1. You have to remove 360 Total Security; disabling it is not enough (we know this from several users with the exact same issue). Please try uninstalling 360 Total Security, then reboot, then try installing Malwarebytes and let us know how it goes. Thanks
  2. Greetings, Your logs show that you have 360 Total Security installed. This application is known to prevent Malwarebytes from installing. Please remove it temporarily and then install Malwarebytes, then you should be able to reinstall it and create exclusions between the two products to get them to work alongside each other. For Malwarebytes, exclude the items listed in this support article from 360 Total Security and exclude 360 Total Security's program folder (likely under C:\Program Files and/or C:\Program Files (x86)) from Malwarebytes following the instructions under the Allow a file or folder section of this support article and do the same for its primary data folder, likely located under C:\ProgramData. If you still have trouble then it could be due to AVG. In fact, you really should just use one or the other, not both, so I would recommend removing either 360 Total Security or AVG AV from the system permanently otherwise you may have issues. Please let us know how it goes and if the problem still persists. Thanks
  3. Greetings, You should be able to use a tool such as MS Sysinternals Process Monitor to see what Malwarebytes is analyzing during the CPU spikes. I hope this helps, and please let us know if you continue to experience issues or if there is anything else we might assist you with.
  4. It should show up under Programs and Features. .NET 3.5 shows up under Windows Features because it is included with/built into Windows 7; version 4.0 is not so it is treated like a normal program and creates its entry in the normal Programs and Features interface.
  5. That's awesome. They're like great big kitties Of course those great big kitties could rip you to shreds in the wild, but I'd still love to visit that park and get up close with the more tame ones.
  6. You're very welcome, and if there is anything else we might assist you with please let us know. Thanks
  7. Greetings, DDoS stands for distributed denial-of-service attack and is different from the issues you describe. It sounds like the VPN was simply gathering telemetry/customer data similar to what other companies such as Microsoft and Google do when using their products and services. If you are concerned about your privacy, I would recommend taking a look at the information provided in this topic. I hope this helps and if there is anything else we might assist you with please let us know. Thanks
  8. Greetings, Please try disabling your VPN and see if that resolves the issue. It it does not, then try removing any iOBit products to see if that fixes it. Please let us know how it goes. Thanks
  9. Yes, it must be conflicting then unfortunately. Web Protection in Malwarebytes uses WFP; the same API's and framework as the built in Windows Firewall. It sounds like something about how Web Protection is filtering is interfering with the Split-Tunneling feature. If you would, please do the following so that we may gather data about the issue for the Developers and for further troubleshooting purposes: Download and run the Malwarebytes Support Tool Accept the EULA and click Advanced tab on the left (not Start Repair) Click the Gather Logs button, and once it completes, attach the zip file it creates on your desktop to your next reply Thanks
  10. Greetings, Please read and follow the instructions in this topic and then create a new topic in our malware removal area by clicking here and one of our malware removal specialists will assist you in checking and cleaning your system of any threats which should eliminate the issue you're seeing with searches. If there is anything else we might assist you with please let us know. Thanks
  11. You stated in your post that you excluded from detection and as potentially unwanted; the exclusions for Web Protection are completely separate and must be created individually/separate from exclusions from other modules/components. Your initial post never mentioned that you created exclusions from Web Protection using the Allow an application to connect to the internet which is why I instructed you to do so; that is the only way to exclude an application from Web Protection. If you already did so, good, however if you did then it can't be Web Protection blocking it unless it is some sort of driver conflict as Malwarebytes allows all communications to/from any process excluded that way.
  12. FYI for anyone who has chosen to abandon Windows 7 for Windows 10. Apparently Windows 10 suffers from a new critical vulnerability that impacts digital signature validation and cryptography (the tech that allows you to validate the source of a file and the tech that keeps your communications encrypted/safe from snoopers). According to Microsoft, neither Windows 7 or 8/8.1 are affected. Remember what I was saying about 7 being inherently more secure than 10, regardless of patches ? I kid, but it does make you wonder; why does such a weakness exist in Microsoft's new code, and why aren't earlier Windows versions affected? I wonder what they might have changed to result in this vulnerability existing in 10 and the latest versions of Windows Server.
  13. Greetings, I suspect that it is probably being caused by the fast startup feature in Windows. It has been known to cause this and other issues with Malwarebytes and other applications due to the way it retains some processes in memory while shutting down others normally. This 'hybrid' approach to system startup causes the Malwarebytes tray and service to go out of sync resulting in the issue you are experiencing it, and since fast startup doesn't apply to system restarts, only shutdowns, that explains why performing a system restart resolves it for you. If you would prefer to eliminate this issue permanently as well as avoid any other potential problems that might be caused by the fast startup feature then you may disable it by following the instructions found here as well as here. Please let us know how it goes and if there is anything else we might assist you with. Thanks
  14. Greetings, According to the info I could gather on Malwarebytes for Mac, it doesn't appear to include the Web Protection component in the Windows version; it only has app blocking and anti-malware (i.e. no web filtering/malicious website blocking), so if it is the same for the business product then the IP test page won't be blocked by Macs. If anyone from the staff knows better then they are free to correct me, however I believe this is how it is.
  15. Greetings, Unfortunately there is no easy way to add additional licenses/devices to an existing subscription/account, however Malwarebytes Support will be able to assist you in getting it done. Please contact them directly by filling out the form on the bottom of this page and they will help you. If there is anything else we might assist you with please let us know. Thanks
  16. You're welcome, I'm glad to be of service
  17. Yes, it adds protection in addition to the Web Protection in Malwarebytes Premium as it blocks things that cannot be blocked outside the browser (such as behaviorally blocking certain sites such as tech support scams etc.). Yes, it should work with the Chromium based Edge browser and several users have been running Malwarebytes Browser Guard with the Edge Chromium beta.
  18. @AlexSmith can you assist please? Alex will be able to change your forum account to a Techbench member which should give you access. You'll also get access to the areas of the forums exclusive to Techbench members.
  19. Yeah, I did the same. I removed all those scheduled tasks for EOL that shipped with some of their recent updates.
  20. Yes, that is the case, however there is at least a preview button so that you can check to see what your post looks like before posting it. It is in the editor on the left side just before the B for bold.
  21. Greetings, Please try excluding iTunes from Ransomware Protection by following the instructions under the Allow a file or folder section of this support article and select the option Exclude from detection as ransomware only and select the iTunes program folder which should be located under either C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (x86). Please let us know how it goes and if the issue is resolved or not. Thanks
  22. To exclude an item from Web Protection you must exclude it by selecting the Allow an application to connect to the Internet option as described in the section of the same name in this support article. If Web Protection is blocking it, you should be able to exclude it that way and Malwarebytes should stop blocking it. I hope this helps and if there is anything else we might assist you with please let us know. Thanks
