Search Protect comes back every time i try to remove it. My computer came with McAfee and every time it comes back McAfee tells me.
I click Remove which brings up a new window.
I get this popup window and click ok, which doesn't appear to do anything.
I go to Window Task Manager and 'End Task' on these 3 processes.
I go to C:\Program Files (x86) and shift-delete 'Search Protect'
I was following a YouTube tutorial, but the Regedit location it guides me to does not contain the folder it describes.
This may be the reason it keeps coming back. I downloaded Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Home free trial. and it discovered a file that had previously gone unnoticed. I was anxious to just click 'delete all' but the guide told me 'Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.'.
Is it safe to simply click delete all without downloading this extra software?
Thanks in advance.
