  1. well we have gone three weeks without malwarebytes shutting down, so something must have worked (don't know what, but something in the litany of items you had me do worked.
  2. Attached are the logs for FRST, Addition, MBAM-Check, and Autoruns after Sophos completed its scan overnight. Sophos identified no threats and did not create a log. I did have to reboot the computer to run the scans, as something was preventing them from running (even with anti-malware and antivirus turned off). Addition-10-1-16.txt FRST-10-1-16.txt CheckResults-10-1-16.txt JULIAN-PC.zip
  3. The computer is running no differently. As for MBAM, I'll have to watch it. For some reason it rarely shuts down on weekends, but almost every afternoon during the week. I still haven't run sophos yet, but will be overnight.
  4. Here is the log of the MBAM threat scan (after removing MBAM, re-booting, and re-installing MBAM.) MBAM Threat Scan 9-30-16.txt
  5. Attached are the logs from steps 1 and 2. Step 3 I will have to run tonight (after 90 minutes, it had only completed less than 5% of the scan, and I need the computer for some work this afternoon. By the way, combofix identified FRST as malware. By the way, both AOL and Google/Chrome identify Viewpoint (removed by JRT) as needed software to display items. I have not re-installed it yet. JRT.txt AdwCleaner[C0].txt
  6. One other note. MBAM shutdown 5 minutes before I ran combofix.
  7. I compared the files I posted yesterday with the ones on my computer and they appear identical, however, I am going to post them again, along with the results of the combofix scan. I am editing the above comment to note that the combofix log txt file was generated while I was outside feeding the animals. When I went outside, it was only on step 5 (of the 50 mentioned in the combofix instructions) and was complete when I returned. The file is only 27 kb long.
  8. I compared the files I posted yesterday with the ones on my computer and they appear identical, however, I am going to post them again, along with the results of the combofix scan. Addition 9-27.txt CheckResults 9-27.txt combofix log 9-28-2016.txt FRST 9-27.txt
  9. The problem still continues. Here are the updated logs: as of 9/27/2016 Addition 9-27.txt CheckResults 9-27.txt FRST 9-27.txt
  10. Today's crash just occurred (1621 Central Time). 11. I decided to give support extra time, but still no response. You probably aren't on for the weekend, so I'll check back Tuesday.
  12. Thank you very much. I knew I was stupid the moment I clicked the submit reply button.
  13. I tried to edit and remove the post just after I posted it, but for some reason the site would not allow me to do so. It won't allow me to do it now, either.
  14. Thank you. I check my spam folders daily (except weekends, so unless they are using an e-mail address other than from Malwarebytes, there has been no answer (the e-mail from their representative went right into my normal e-mail, as do their occasional notices/advertisements). I did not expect an answer until late Monday or Tuesday at the earliest. What's weird is that Sunday is about the only day this crash doesn't occur.
