  1. Absolutely, Malwarebytes is the best and I've tested every AV program I could get my hands on.
  2. Tony I have several Lifetime subscriptions also. They told me on the telephone that they were end of life-ing all the old Lifetime Subscriptions like mine, and they don't offer them anymore. I also got a Lifetime deal on Endpoint and they said it's no good as well. Not sure what to make of all this.
  3. Thanks Alex! Not sure how my settings got changed, but since I put them back the way Porthos recommended, I'm fine. Thanks guys!
  4. Done, thanks. I saw in the other thread, you mentioned your posted settings above are "default", but does unchecking those boxes make me vulnerable in any way??
  5. I'm a small business owner, and as such I wear many hats, one of which being the "IT Guy". I made my own web-page for the business, and maintain it myself. Last week, much to my surprise and chagrin i discovered my web site had become the victim of cryptojacking!! I found out only because of MB3, which blocked coinhive code, in my header and then blocked my header from view. Without MB3, I'd still be clueless that my site had been compromised, there was no other indications of any issue, so thanks MB3!! -- Cain
  6. Nice catch Donna, that's a bit of a relief knowing it's a bug/glitch and not an actual exploit that got through to our systems.
  7. Hey Donna, I'm guessing this is an issue with the new Firefox update and all the major changes MB has recently made to their "web protection", sadly you and I may be the canaries in the mine - so we got it first! :-) I also made a post to support your post, I'm guessing they will jump on this later tonight or early tomorrow morning. Love me some Firefox, and also love me some Malwarebytes - I'm sure they will get this figured out very soon - otherwise I predict lots of freaked out and upset users!!
  8. My Firefox just updated and now MB keeps shutting it down, over and over. I posted elsewhere but wanted to be certain you folks saw it is a problem, and I'm guessing others will have the same problem when their Firefox updates tonight and tomorrow. Here's my log info. I can send the other more comprehensive logs you folks like (although they are not something I'd want to post in a public forum), but this may have been unnecessary because this is a known issue? Thx! ------------------- -Log Details- Protection Event Date: 1/29/18 Protection Event Time: 9:34 PM Log File: 26ac50dc-0566-11e8-bc65-704d7b285f80.json Administrator: Yes -Software Information- Version: 3.3.1.2183 Components Version: 1.0.262 Update Package Version: 1.0.3817 License: Premium -System Information- OS: Windows 10 (Build 16299.192) CPU: x64 File System: NTFS User: System -Exploit Details- File: 0 (No malicious items detected) Exploit: 1 Malware.Exploit.Agent.Generic, , Blocked, [0], [392684],0.0.0 -Exploit Data- Affected Application: Mozilla Firefox (and add-ons) Protection Layer: Protection Against OS Security Bypass Protection Technique: Exploit ROP gadget attack blocked File Name: URL: (end)
  9. EXACT same thing on Firefox 58.0.1 Donna, and it's freaking me out a little bit. I've never had or seen anything like this before. At first I thought I'd gotten a fake firefox update, but I didn't. I've been scanning the heck out of my PC and it seems to be virus free, but Firefox is getting shutdown by MB constantly, even on basic sites like google.com. Thanks in advance for any help. ---------------------------------- -Log Details- Protection Event Date: 1/29/18 Protection Event Time: 8:58 PM Log File: 00c8663a-0561-11e8-9e6e-704d7b285f80.json Administrator: Yes -Software Information- Version: 3.3.1.2183 Components Version: 1.0.262 Update Package Version: 1.0.3817 License: Premium -System Information- OS: Windows 10 (Build 16299.192) CPU: x64 File System: NTFS User: System -Exploit Details- File: 0 (No malicious items detected) Exploit: 1 Malware.Exploit.Agent.Generic, , Blocked, [0], [392684],0.0.0 -Exploit Data- Affected Application: Mozilla Firefox (and add-ons) Protection Layer: Protection Against OS Security Bypass Protection Technique: Exploit ROP gadget attack blocked File Name: URL:
  10. I'm having this same problem, suddenly tonight. If I turn off the check-boxes you suggest, will I be vulnerable to some legit attack or exploit??
  11. Just did that, I was curious in the meantime. I'll wait for them then. Take care
  12. Thx Porthos. What is the Business equivalent of MBAM for WSE 2012 R2?? I only want it for my server. Thx!
  13. I have a little small server in my home. Can I run MBAM 3.x on WSE 2012 R2?? Thanks!!
  14. This morning I saw the message that there was a new version of MBAM available, I shut down all other software running, clicked the box and it updated perfectly. -- Cain
  15. Sure, I was waiting until the program told me there was an update, but I'll try 3.05.
  16. My MBAW has a problem where it shows a red triangle on the System Tray, right clicking it shows one of my protections is OFF but they are all actually turned on.. Screenshot attached. I'm running Windows 10 Pro fully patched that was upgraded from Windows 7 Pro.
  17. Thx Ried. I kept opening and closing the program, stopping and restarting it and rebooted a couple of times and it fixed it. I love me some MalwareBytes, but this 3.x is still a little buggy. I'm confident you folks will get it fixed soon, I'll just be patient and sit tight. I'm not going to try and uninstall it again, I'll just wait for the patch to 3.x. Take care and thanks!! -- Cain
  18. Thx Reid. Another bug is I have a red exclamation point (red triangle) on the taskbar icon. Mouseover (right click) and it says "Exploit Protection:Off" but it is on, it is not off... I can't get that red mark to go away or the icon right click to stop showing exploit protection OFF.
  19. After much fiddling I was able to roll back to a System Restore point with MBAW 2.x. It would not work so I cleaned and uninstalled as much as could and reloaded MBAW 2.x. For now I put everything back the way it was, including re-installing MBAW 3.x. I'll assume you folks will get it fixed soon. The only problem I;m having now is that "Turn On" message everytime I boot. For now I just press that button and it seems to be OK.
  20. Well Version 3.x is buggy as Hell. I thought I could simply reinstall Version 2.x over Version 3.x and it would downgrade. DO NOT TRY THIS!!! It made my machine unbootable, I'm writing this from another PC as I wrestle with how to boot back into my regular PC's desktop. I'm disappointed. I own a bunch of MBAW licenses for my PCs, family's PCs and most importantly WIFE's PC. (Thank Goodness I screwed up my PC and not hers!!) ;-) Stupidly I already updated every PC to Version 3.x without checking here first. How do I safely roll back to v2.x?? I'm not seeing it on the downloads page here any longer. -- Cain
  21. Try this: From the MBAM 2.2 console, add any file to the exclusion list. Then retry the upgrade. If the upgrade was successful, remove that file from the MB3 exclusions.
  22. This one worked on my wife's computer: From the MBAM 2.2 console, add any file to the exclusion list. Then retry the upgrade. If the upgrade was successful, remove that file from the MB3 exclusions. Thanks! That was easy!
  23. I'm suspicious of that too. Looks like a Korean Company?? I'm taking a serious look at SplashTop, any of you folks used it?
  24. I WAS using the Free Teamviewer for friends, wife's widowed Mom, and family, but it started bitching at me, and now has stopped working. Has anyone tried this?? Looks fairly new and is FREE: http://ultraviewer.net/en/
