  1. I cannot find and download the fixlist.txt file from your post. There is no link. pos
  2. I have no idea of what a "persistentRoute" is. No I did not make any changes. I printed out your post and will follow your instructions. I see that 66.94.196.1 IP address location is about 1/2 miles from me. Is someone hacking into my computer? Also, I had to reboot my computer this evening, and low and behold when Windows opened, my entire "downloads" folder was in my "recycle bin". In my bottom tray the "explorer" icon was also missing, with a "recycle bin" icon in its place. Also my Malware Antimalware was not in the tray, and was closed. cheers pos
  3. I just developed another symptom. I ran Kapersky antivirus, nothing found. I just closed Firefox and attempted to open it again and a box repeatedly opens asking if I will allow it to make changes to XXXXX. I can't remember the rest. I rebooted awhile ago this afternoon and I could not open any programs I tried except one or two associated with windows. Right now I had to open IE 11 in order to get to this site. Pos
  4. I am having similar, random problems. First, printing messes up (for months now), then I have all sorts of "restore" points I did not know I had, but cannot used them (box pops up can't find them), then my Malware Antimalware acts up. I have downloaded AVG, Kaspersky, Defender and Antimalware and nothing found. This has been going on for months. I am hoping Nasdaq can help my situation. cheers pos
  5. Thanks for your help Nasdaq, much appreciated. Attached are the two files requested. pos Addition.txt FRST.txt
  6. I have had a printing problem for months, now my antivirus programs won't open. To get you up to speed: Yesterday I performed my latest image restore; this time from 2017 because my printer did not work properly again, just a portion of page printed, and sometimes none. After the restore the printer worked for the afternoon and then failed again. This morning I booted up and the printer works fine, but now my Antimalware premium program won't open. When I right click in the taskbar, all 4 protections are on. However, when I attempt to open the program, either from the task bar or double clicking on desktop, a box opens stating Malwarebytes has stopped working. Either check online for a solution and close the program or just close the program. I just recently uninstalled CCleaner. Do I have a virus/malware etc, or does my program need to be re loaded, or something else? Help needed. Pos
  7. Yes, great idea and will do as soon as possible. Fortunately I have plenty of room on my external HD, will keep the backups. If I have any more problems, I shall present it for more help, but all seems ok now. Thanks again. positron
  8. Thanks for your help Staff. I completely shut off, removed power from the computer (including holding the power button) twice now. I restarted and windows 7 opened up just fine, desktop came up fine. Interestingly, I measured the battery voltage after I removed it from the board. It measured 3.10 volts, which seems like enough. However, the meter will present a different load than the actual computer load. The brand new battery measured 3.25 volts. Seems close but the load will be different, thus the voltage. (I am an electronics engineer, but too old for computer classes to be offered in college.) I hope this string has been helpful to all visitors. I also wish to express my appreciation to "Advanced Setup Staff" for his time, his patience, and his expertise in logically "walking" through and honing in on the source of the problem. That is quite an accomplishment since he could not physically be here, know all the programs I have, and possible issues. Thanks again. positron
  9. I found some new information that might help. I was able to "restart" my computer several times with no problems. However, when I power down the computer, shut it completely off, then windows 7 ultimate will not open up. The computer starts, I eventually see "microsoft incorporated", the colored "flag" appears and then the mouse disappears and the screen remains black. Win 7 never opens to the desktop screen. I have just replaced the 3 volt battery and will see what happens by powering off completely and see what happens. I hope this helps the "staff" helping me and the public. Here goes.
  10. Glary utilities, using "disk repair", found errors. I don't know if that means sectors damaged, or just found problems with win 7. I did Not do anything with the findings. I did not attempt to repair until I hear your recommendations. cheers pos
  11. Ok, ran FRST64 with fixlist.txt and it rebooted to open win 7 ultimate. So I went ahead and shut it down to power off. Powered on and it came to microsoft and colored "flag" started, then screen went black again, no cursor, and failed to open windows, just like before. When I created the different images, the computer was working fine, until the past couple of months when I started having problems printing. Since I started using backup images, computer fails to open win 7 on 2nd attempt. Any ideas what it could be, or what to do next? Again, I appreciate your time and expertise, and understand you are following a process to trim the problem down to its source. I really appreciate that. pos
  12. I opened the fixlog.txt and it says Fixing is terminated due to reaching maximum fixing time of 45 minutes. <==== ATTENTIONit terminated at the 45 minute point. Is this typical of win 7 that so much corruption has occurred? Cheers and thanks. pos
  13. Just finished running the program and fixlog.txt is now uploaded. It did not restart, so should that be my next step or should I wait until you check out the fixlog.txt before rebooting? Cheers and thanks again. pos Fixlog.txt
  14. Here I go, run FRST64 and click fix. Hopefully all will work. Hopefully report back sooner than later. Thanks for time so far Root Admin. So much appreciated.
  15. I think I may have solved this problem. I opened fixlist in the notepad and then saved it as fixlist.txt on the desktop. Is that ok? cheers
  16. Can't save it to desktop. I click on your icon, and I have to use "others" because "desktop" is not listed. Notepad (default) is all that is listed. After clicking "other", it says "notepad, microsoft visual studio 2005 etc, internet explorer, windows media center, microsoft office picture manager, windows photo viewer, microsoft ivsual studio version selector windows media player, and windows wordpad appllication. So I click "browse" and click "desktop". I click "open" and it jumps to "computer". What should I do?
  17. As you can see, it says Fixlist.txt is unavailable, so I cannot download it. What should I do?
  18. Here are the two files. FRST.txt Addition.txt Addition.txt FRST.txt
  19. I have been working on that for weeks, if not months. Something was so corrupted that I used the image backup. The printer worked ok until I 2nd booted win 7, but win 7 would not boot up, so obviously the printer would not work. cheers and thanks for your input. pos
  20. I had to do an image restore due to intermittent printing in Win 7 Ultimate. I used a 2017 back up image. The computer reboots ok. However, after powering off and on, the 2nd time, it won't boot into win 7. I use the repair disc but it eventually says it cannot repair the problem. So I restored again and it boots the 1st time but not the second time. I upload the update to latest Malware Antimalware Premium. My question is, could there be an infection that Anti hasn't seen, or is there a special little program to rid of some infection?? Just asking and thank you for your time and efforts.. positron
  21. Thanks so much for taking the time and efforts involved Maurice. I ran the program, and restarted quicker than I thought. I attached the fixlot.txt file. Again, thank you so much for your time and efforts. I will keep in touch. steve Fixlog.txt
  22. I believe I uninstalled it less than a year ago. I forgot to uncheck the box when downloading another program and chrom was installed. I used "programs and features" in control panel to delete it. No Chrone icon on the desktop. Search.txt
  23. Thank you so much for your time and expertise Maurice. It is much appreciated. I checked "Block new requests asking to allow notifications" and added the malwarebytes add on. So that is done. I have a question or two though. I checked "programs and features" in control panel and "chrome" never comes up. I know I had it at one time but uninstalled it. I also checked in "start" and searched "chrome" and did not find it. I take it that Chrome was not fully uninstalled, some files are left? So what I have on my desktop right now is Firefox and Internet Exployer 11.0.9600.19399. Chrome files must be hidden somewhere? Thanks again for your help Maurice. steve
  24. Thanks Maurice, much appreciated. Attached is the zip file for your inspection. By the way, my HP Deskjet 1050 J410 will print a first line and then just stop, the power light blinking. Any connection? cheers positron mbst-grab-results.zip
