  1. Thanks JS, Porthos, and Advanced Setup, for all your help and time. It is much greatly appreciated. I made screen shots of JS and other pages. Fortunately, I make 3 external backups, two thumbs and one hard drive. Rarely connected only as needed. I love the sound of the Macrium backup, with partitions and all. Sounds like it beats the System Image soundly. Thanks again for all your time, efforts, and Ethics. I have had Malwarebytes Premium for years and years and you always keep your word. That is becoming more difficult to find these days. And your patience with me is Exemplary. pos
  2. I can run some programs in "run as administrator". I guess it is just in some situations I cannot. Here are the Addition.txt and FRST.txt JS. Thanks steve FRST.txt Addition.txt
  3. Hi JS, I checked and acceleration is at full setting. I then checked Firefox and acceleration not checked, so I checked it. I got rid of Ccleaner several weeks ago, but started this string because I found two entries in MSConfig, Start, Ccleaner unknown manufacturer. We got rid of the two, but so many and differing computer problems that I had a local company format my C drive due to so much corruption and could not get rid of Ccleaner 6.1.10455. That is when I started all over again with the local company formatting my C drive and external backups. Evidently, the local company did not have a very good installation of win 7 ultimate. Is it ok to attempt to upgrade my video driver? I have no idea if it has ever been updated. pos
  4. I saw no yellow and no devices with asterisks in device manager.
  5. I can run Firefox, play games like solitaire, operated Windows Defender. I don't have any other programs installed. However, opening solitaire a pop up says Hardware acceleration is eitherdisabled or not supported by my video card. Everything ran good before Ccleaner 6.11.10455 suddenly showed up and my computer locked up. pos
  6. After performing Powershell.exe and $PSVersionTable, I have written what I saw. 12. Hi JS, All is updated but I still get the message: " >Net 4.0 or above is required but not detected on this machine. I attempted to install the 4.0 program but this error message came up. 0x800c0006 Ideas? pos Update 11:25: I just had a popup stating 2 more win updates. ~315mb total. Am updating now.
  13. Hi Advanced, I was able to download and install the above 7 Hot Fix KB files. One issue I had was that the 488mb file would not install. So I installed the other 6 files and then tried the 488mb file and it installed. Thought I would mention that for future. Anyway, I downloaded the malwarebytes Support.exe file and it said I needed to open a web installer, this link provided. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17851 Need your expertise what to do. This just in. More than an hour ago, I tried update to win and nothing. Just a minute ago, a box opened saying there were 25 downloads, 676mb. So I am now downloading it and installing. I will see if it solves the support .exe problem. Thanks pos
  14. I am downloading the second file, which has taken about 2 hours to get half way through, so it is going to take hours for them. I say this as I may not be able to get back here until sat evening. But I will try to get back sooner if I can. Thanks again for your time and efforts. pos Edit: Or maybe sunday.

  16. Hi JS, Attached is the Fixlog.txt. Amost forgot, Firefox upgraded even though I thought it shut off And I had firewalled block on both inbound and outbound. I did find a way to stop it from upgrading by under "policies". So it should not upgrade again. My apology on that misfortune. Thanks. pos Fixlog.txt
  17. I just finished upgrading/updating Malwarebytes and ran a scan. Below are the results. I just checked msconfig and noticed that under "General" the check mark went from "Normal Startup" when I first installed Windows 7, to now "Selective Startup". Is this normal? Thanks. pos Malwarebytes Scan Report 2024-09-19 135607.txt
  18. Hi Pathos, i have some info attachments to give you. pos FRST.txt Addition.txt Malware 9-18.txt
  19. First Pathos, thanks for your patience with me. Somehow, I don't know how, I found a link that said if I cannot install the windows update I could download this link and install malwarebytes. I also found a place to give my malwarebytes email address and password and got the 6 digit number, entered it, and Malwarebytes now says I am protected. I never did download the windows 7 update, but then I could not find an actual link to download the update from. pos
  20. I found a version that I could download and install but my key does not work. I think it is because I did not deactivate before having the format performed. I shall give them a call. pos
  21. My computer went down, sorry I am late responding but I had to have a company format my computer, so I got a win 7 installation thumbdrive, installed win 7 ultimate from scratch, got on the internet but having problems installing Malwarebytes, says Windows 2019-09 security Update lacking. I don't know which file(s) they mean, help as I need to get malwarebytes reinstalled. pos
  22. Except for having to start in safe mode and then restarting to get into normal mode (some sort of files corruption from what I understand) everything seems working just fine. Evidently, the corrupt files are outside the realm of System Image Backup, and I don't have the installation disk. But I can get along as is. I know I need to wait for the all clear, so will wait until you give the go ahead, and problem solved. Thanks for your help JS. pos
  23. I had to try a different method as the page did not have an "activate windows" link. I tried "Start" and typed "activate Windows" and it actually opened up. I entered the key and it worked. Is there anything more we need to do, or is it ok to start checking Audio Forums again? pos ps. (I designed exceedingly high quality vacuum tube stereo sound components, although retired now. In fact the first perfectly accurate stereo Preamplifier in the world, musical output sounds exactly like the musical input.)
  24. Here is what happened. I opened FRSTEnglish and a message popped up saying "eror product key not found". Then it wanted to restart windows, so I clicked ok and it rebooted Then a message says "want to enter key" FRST opens up, I click ok and it finishes with txt message The Firefox update starts windows finally opens and a message pops up asking if I want to update Firefox. I clicked "dismiss" Windows is open, but it says it is not genuine. Attached is the fixlog.txt Fixlog.txt
