  1. I've been using AWD Cleaner & MB Prem for a long, long time. This is the first time I have a mystery I cannot decypher so I can tell how to deal with it. My AWD Cleaner has picked PUP registry chng. named PUP.Optional.DnsBlock which my MB Prem never has (I have run 4 complete tests....same results...so I then decided to ask for your expert opinion). The aggravation of course is have to run AWD's Repair & Restart ever time since that's the only way I can keep it clean. It's my fault and I'm trying to determine how I'm getting the PUP so I can avoid it from the get-go. Thanks for all everyone there does & for your expert advice. MostRecenAdwCleanerLog.txt
  2. Hmmm...where to begin... 1) Updated to the Win 10 Fall update (1709) 3 days ago 2) only prob I noticed at the time was 'Context Menu" 3) the usual tricks didn't fix that 4) found this thread and after checking my MB again.. I realized the 'auto update' was not working either 5) I followed advice from "firefox" & both my issues are now corrected 6) attached are log files....if staff wants to review them 5 Fies.zip
  3. Appreciate the info Telos. Added good information to my knowledge base.
  4. Porthos....not sure about others but I haven't received any new junk mail since it's installation. Many super thanks for all your information. It is a great help.
  5. Hi. I use MBAM 3.0 & have been a customer for several years of several products. Two months ago I ran across a (fairly new I think) free program named "RansomFree"...from CyberReasom.com . I have been test driving it and have had no issues. All you people are so knowledgeable I'd like to ask for your input on this. Maybe it's not worth the trouble to be using it. And as always many thanks for all your guidance.
  6. Have been enjoying MBAM 3.05 for + - a month. 1) Upgrade notification (lower right corner) appeared today but the 'Download and Install' bar was dead. 2) Opened the program and it opened directly to the 'Scan' screen. 3) I checked other screens and found the upgrade offer on the 'Dashboard' - that upgrade bar was also dead. 4) Finally went to website, downloaded, and installed it manually from the exe file. 5) Program functions flawlessly.....only had trouble with this upgrade - Zips of SysInfo & Log file folder attached. Many thanks MBAMSERVICE logs.zip My System Info.txt
  7. My Current System Info: Win 10 Pro 64 Bit Including Win 10 Windows Defender MBAM Pro (for past 2 years) MBAE Pro (for past 2 years) * Currently testing MBAR Beta AMD Phenom II x6 1090T 3.20 GHZ 8.00 GIG Mem North Bridge: AMD 785G Onboard Graphics ATI Radeon HD4200 Display Adapter 3 Hard Drives ------------------------------------------ 1) Had activation probs. when first installed but no issues whatsoever after the Win 10 Anniversary Update. 2) Have done 8 restarts - MBAR loads & activates as it should. 3) No attacks so far - trusting it to block any attacks thrown at me.
  8. I have seen so many sites about Ransomware I find it difficult to get some solid answers since the info is scattered over so many places. I would like to you, the experts here, about a concern that I have. It's my understanding that many of the RW can encrypt every drive on your computer, including network drives. Doe's that also hold true for a drive that is passworded, such as a passworded system backup created by Acronis? My apologies to all if my post is inappropriate.
  9. Am pleased to see a new MBAR Beta hit the front lines. Looking forward to test driving it. Many thanks to the entire Malwarebytes staff for all that you do
  10. Alrighty 1PW..... 1) I did a clean re-install at your suggestion following your instructions 2) ARW activated itself properly (protection enabled - no error) 3) However; it didn't auto-load into the System tray (I had to activate the app) --------------------------------------------- Question about something I noticed.... 1) When I uninstalled thru CP....these 3 were removed.(as they should have been) C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\ C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware\ C:\ProgramData\MBAMService\ But another directory C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes (I made a Zip but it's too large to post here) was still there (and it has references to ARW & MBAM Service inside it). Is that proper for it to stay there unmolested after a CP uninstall? And again....thanks mucho for all your staff.
  11. Greetings 1PW...I stayed on this earlier post of mine so you'd know what happened before now. Pretty much the same situation has occurred here again as I described at the first of this topic......kinda sorta hehe 1) aug 10 - power outage a) ARW would not load in Tray; had to bring it to Desktop b) The Fix Now & Start Protection were dead c) Felt a little wierd so I rebooted 2nd time d) Same as a (above) e) That time the Fix Now worked correctly 2) aug 12 - shut down to chg DVD Drive a) Exactly the same as a thru e (2 days ago) I created the 2 attached Zips on the 1st startup today while it was dead. I feel like I am a bother. Keep feeling like it's something on my end. Big thanks in advance. logs.zip Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware.zip
  12. Hello friend. Maybe I got a little ahead of my self. When my MBARW stalled I first tried the "clean install" instructions found in the link I posted earlier (should be this one - That didn't help me so I then started this post to get help. But after re-thinking I decided to retry the same clean install a second time, and maybe i goofed on the first try because the second fixed the prob. on my system. Attached is a simple copy of the instructions I followed. word for word.Hope you get it....I don't feel like I'm helping much. Clean Re-install Of MBARW.doc
  13. Hello and thanks 1PW. 1) Update: Took another stab at it and got it activated. 2) Here's the Zips but may not help (they are from after I fixed it.) 3) If it re-occurs; I'll make the Zips while it is dead & submit. logs.zip Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware.zip
