  1. I have managed to get rid of the PUP by following instructions on this: malwaretips.com/blogs/remove-potentially-unwanted-program/ which suggests using both Malwarebytes and a program called HitmanPro. I got a trial licence for the HitmanPro, ran it and the PUP has not reappeared after a reboot and 10 or 11 hours on-line. One interesting side effect of running Hitman is that my Malwarebytes Web Protection was disabled and I could not re-enable it with the slide switches. Malware bytes kept telling me to enable Web Protection (I have a Malware Bytes Premium licence, so it should work). However, when I rebooted the PC, Malwarebytes came up normally with Web Protection enabled.
  2. Do I lose all my prestored Chrome passwords when I do this? So far I have seen absolutely no change in things. What is this PUP doing that is a problem? Is it possible this is a misclassification?
  3. Ron, A malwarebytes scan just finished and I see no change in the results as far as the PUP. I was not seeing any issues with the machine other than this report from malwarebytes. A good thing to get rid of infected Java's though. Can you tell me what the indication in the log file is of infection, so I can take care of detection myself in the future? Thanks. David MalwarebytesScan_091518.txt
  4. Followed your instructions. The Fixlog.txt file is attached. I deleted 3 versions of Java plus JavaFXM or something like that. Don't I need to reinstall Java now? Will programs that were using Java automatically recognize it is now available? David Fixlog.txt
  5. Ron, Thanks for your reply. I have Malwarebytes 3.5.1. I performed all 3 steps and attach the log files from all of them. Hopefully when the daily Malwarebytes scan will not find the PUP.Optional.365Stream next time it runs. 6. Malwarebytes Premium keeps detecting "PUP.Optional.365Stream". I let it quarantine and delete each instance, but they come back very quickly (hours). They return before the machine is rebooted. How do I locate the re-installer and remove it?
