  1. Thanks for the replies, but I'm not sure that I'm going to renew it anyway. For a couple of months last year I did not use the computer. When I did start using it again, I found that Malwarebytes had been uninstalled. I did not do this, my partner did not do this, so that leaves two options: it either uninstalled itself, or Windows did it. I'm sure everyone will say that that's not possible. Whatever: I'm telling you that it happened. In addition to this, for the last month or so I've had no real-time protection. I keep getting messages that tell me to switch it on but, whenever I try to, it doesn't work. I've tried the 'fixes' listed. Not one of them works. I was really hoping that the 'run as Admin' fix would work. It did not. I'll admit I did not redownload it - but I shouldn't have to download it each time I use my PC, should I? So for around a quarter of the last year I've been paying for something I haven't really been getting. It's not expensive, but still... Perhaps I should have said this upfront, but I like the product when it's working and didn't really want to get into all this. I need to cancel the forthcoming payment - I have just tried to log in to Support through the UI and again am having no success.
  2. Hi My current subscription expires in two days. I do not wish to automatically renew it as I'm going to be buying a new computer soon (current one is five years old and too frustrating to use). How do I do this? i couldn't see anything after clicking on My Account. I tried to log in to Support but can't get in - the username and password for this forum don't work, and nor does the password for my account. It asks for a username, but I've never had one for that and my real name and email addresses don't work either. The yearly charge is not much, but I don't want to pay it twice. Thanks.
  3. Hi exile360 Apologies for the slow reply (very busy) - just wanted you to know that your fix worked, and the other problem hasn't reared its head again either, so everything's looking good. Also want to add that MBAM is one of the best things I've ever bought. Thanks to all of you for your time and help.
  4. Hi exile360 I'm a bit of a slacker and had finally intended to do the re-installation tonight. But your answer has allowed me to delay this yet again. I've done what you said, and will check tomorrow to see if it worked. Thanks!
  5. Thanks for the replies, guys. Funnily enough, the log for the unscheduled scan that ran (I say 'that ran' because I didn't ask for it, at least not deliberately) just after I had this issue shows that Rootkits was/were Enabled. I shook my head at this, thinking 'They're going to blacklist me as a false-alarm specialist' but the following two or three scheduled scans have shown Disabled. davidmg: I was hoping your suggestion would be the answer, but I'm definitely running Threat Scans. Which means I'm going to have to go the route suggested by Firefox and daledoc1, as daunting as it is. I will do it and let you know what happens. Thanks again for your time and your help.
  6. Hi Though I checked the 'Scan for rootkits' box a few weeks back the Scan Logs always say 'Rootkits: Disabled'. This may or may not be a problem, I don't know. Earlier, though, when I logged on I got a message saying that MBAM couldn't update or load the Rootkit driver. The first message gave me a code of 20023 (I think) and after the restart I had two messages giving me a code of 20025 (definitely). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  7. Hi Firefox Thank you for that. I wouldn't have blamed you (or minded) if you'd deleted the thread. Malware removal was going to be my next port of call, so I'll be checking it out tomorrow. Thanks for your time and your patience.
  8. Hi The restart worked. I do apologise. The earlier 'restart' was actually a power-off. So my introduction to the forum has made me look like a cretin. Sigh . . .
  9. Hi I'm new here. I apologise in advance if this is in the wrong place, has been covered, etc (though what works for one may not work for another, so it would be foolish to try a fix given to someone else, even if i could understand it :-)) A couple of days ago I bought MBAM Premium (download) and today I find that the real-time protection isn't enabled. As per the heading, the Fix Now button does nothing. I get (Not Responding), the button fades, returns, no change. £20 isn't a lot of money, but it's still money. How can I fix this? My PC has some kind of DNS-changing trojan (picked up before the download of Premium). Real-time must have been working because the missus said that she kept getting messages saying it had blocked malicious websites. But it's not working now. I have restarted my PC and it's been since this that I've had the error. I will obviously restart again, but just wanted to put this out there. I'll restart and see if it changes anything. Please don't reply until I have done so - I do not want to waste anybody's time. I'll restart and reply to myself. I hope that it's okay to do this. Thanks!
