  1. In the one week's time my son has had his computer running again he "downloaded" 5 Trojan files. I had to run the Malwarebytes again before trying the recovery tool. Here are the scan files. Thank you. FRST.txt Addition.txt
  2. Yes, it has booted up normal the last two times. Thank you for your help. We'll try to get Microsoft to help with making a recovery drive. Thank you.
  3. Not sure why, but my son decided to unplug the computer from the powerstrip. When he plugged it back in the computer booted just fine. The Malwarebytes has removed the adware problem that started all this mess. I am still unable to get it to make a recovery disk. Would it be best to contact Microsoft for help on creating a recovery disk or would it work to do the Farbar and Rufus steps mentioned above?
  4. I tried to make a recovery disk and it wouldn't "find" the USB drive. I tried it with and without the box checked "Back up systems to the recovery drive", tried two different new USB thumb drives, 16 GB and 32 GB, and tried each before and after the point where it says insert a USB drive. I waited more than 5 minutes and the drive never popped up and tried all options multiple times. It is reading the thumb drives, they show up in "my computer". I also started the process on my old computer (windows 7 updated to 10) and the USB shows up fine. They are both SanDisk drives. Is it something
  5. Option 6 did not work. I tried turning it off and on 8 times. As soon as it's "on" the light is blinking and the monitor stays black. I have checked the monitor and it works fine. Would it work to make a recovery disk/USB from the duplicate computer I have? (Same computer box, Windows 10, etc)
  6. I have several USB flash drives. Do you want me to try Option 6? I have to get to work, so may not get back to you until after 7:00 pm Central time.
  7. Computer, with factory installed Windows 10, had adware popups, so I installed Malwarebytes. While it was scanning I left the computer unattended about 1 hour. When I came back to it the power button was flashing, screen was dark; appeared to be asleep. I could not get it to wake with the mouse or keyboard. I held down the power button until it powered off. After 1 minute I turned it back on and it whirrs, but nothing comes up on the monitor and the power button continues to blink. I have tried restarting it and hitting F8 to try a SafeMode start, but it's not booting to anything - still a
