  1. justinlandis said there could have been documentation? Also I am so sorry for a late reply! I totally forgot about this.
  2. Hello! Sorry for the late reply. Thank you for clearing that up! If there is any documentation that would be great. Thank you!
  3. Okay thank you. I think for now I will wait for more opinions and if i am still not sure i will hard reset it. Thank you!
  4. I don't think I have an infection anymore? I did suspect it however I did scan couple of times and I didn't get anything, and there seems to be no apps that have been affected... Doesn't that mean there must not be an infection? Also i did delete all the cache etc from the browser. And I haven't used the browser after that very much but it seems like there isn't any pop ups coming up anymore. But it's true I still don't know what that "success" was, or how to be sure if there is a malware on my device. Do you have any more ideas?
  5. Yes I think so! Thank you so much for all the help
  6. I have scanned with that particular app again and nothing came up?
  7. I just downloaded that app you mentioned in post #5 and there was nothing that came up.
  8. Yes I was wondering why there were so many or what they meant?
  9. I downloaded virustotal on to my phone, and opened it and it did give me some results but I am not sure what they mean. Many have question marks on them and one app (which is called Loop:HEX has a red icon next to it. The reason why I am suspecting an infection is because I know that control.kochava.com can be a hijacker on browsers so I was worried when I opened it and it said "success" so I thought maybe there is something still on my phone? I will attach the screen shots of the results. ** some of the apps are blurred because they are local apps that contain locations.
  10. I was on an app where an ad popped up and I accidentally clicked on it. Then it led me to a website on my Samsung browser which had the URL control.kochava.com and it said success.... I think I now have a malware on my android? Please help! How do I get rid of it? I did run a scan with the malwarebytes app, however it didn't bring up anything, but I still think there could be something on there. My device is on android 6.0.1.
  11. I feel like I have figured out the difference between normal scans and custom scans, hence why this is taking longer than usual! I have found the answer. Thank you
  12. Hello, I have never done a custom scan before so last night I thought I would give it a go. Its been around 5 hours (I paused it for couple of hours) and it is still on scan file system but it is not really "stuck" but it keeps going? Here is a screen shot attached. It's been 5 hours and it doesn't usually take this long. My computer is windows 10 64 bits. Does anyone know if this is crashing, malware, virus, trojon..... etc? What should I do?
  13. Oh another thing, i know the difference between virus and malware, so when you say you think it should not be malicious, can it be a virus that is spreading in my computer?
  14. Thank you for your help! I will do so. Why does sometimes those random files just appear out of no where or are created? I do not understand why that happens ad is quite annoying... Thank you for your help again Kevin.
  15. Oh to add to this, it was created 23rd of december which was 6 days ago, i am not sure if i have connected the external hard drive to my computer on this day...
  16. Hi Kevin, I have donwloaded Mc shield and have connected the external hard drive. The program made sure that there was no malware which was deteced on it. However, when i opened it i found these two files called, "file.inf" and "file.txt"? Are they malware or virus? I was just wondering, while i was scanning with the online scanner, my mouse accidently clicked chrome and opened a window. I immediately deleted it.. do you think it could have interfered and we should do another scan just in case?
  17. No.. I have not connected the external hard drive to see if the icon came up again, should I try that to see if everything is ok? Besides that I do not have any remaining concerns or issues.
  18. hello kevin I have attached the logs on to this post I wanted to tell you that i have deleted the programs and other files related to the programs which were detected before the scan, but i am still not sure why those PUPs popped up? Maybe they were still on my computer. Hopefully it was deleted by the time i have ran these scans etc. Thanks for your help again. AdwCleanerC1.txt Fixlog.txt JRT.txt log.txt
  19. Hello Kevin, Thanks for offering help again. I have attached the logs to this post. I have realised today for this computer i have not removed AVG properly, so i have done that, then re scanned my computer and found some PUPs, and i have already deleted those files/programs, and through the malwarebytes. I will look into the anti-virus program you offered. Do you know if it carries any PUPs during the download which could infect my computer? 20. Hello everyone, the other day i opened my hard drive and found autorun.inf and another file, which i cannot remember what it was but i deleted them both because i knew autorun.inf was a virus - so i found multiple viruses on my own computer hard drive, found them by commnad prompt and deleted them in safe mode. But i remember that the other file's icon being blue, and it had name of seagate or something similar - something with a s maybe? My external drive is a seagate external hard drive, so i guess i thought it belonged to that (this is what i think right now - it could a misinception because i cannot remember well). I think it has a high chance of being a virus so i decided to ask here. I think it could be on my computer and then get copied on to the external hard drive or it could be the company's file like that is suppose to be with the hard drive - or that's what i thought at the time anyways but i wasn't thinking properly at the time and just deleted without even thinking. The external hard drive is 2TB from Seagate and is Backup Plus Desktop drive with USB 3.0. The operating system is windows 10, and i have run the scan with Avast and Malwarebytes and have not found any viruses. Well those did not find the autorun.inf anyways. The computer is 64 bit. Please help! Maybe we can see if there is virus by doing different scans and using logs etc.
