  1. I had the same issue awhile ago, and it turns out that I was infected with conficker. Tell me, can you access microsoft.com? If not, open a command prompt and type in: net stop dnscache then check to see if you can update correctly. If you are able to update, then I recommend doing a full virus scan of the system.
  2. Symantec's conficker removal tool is coming up as a (Trojan.Agent) under a quick scan. I have included the log file and the removal tool, and they can be downloaded from http://rapidshare.de/files/48309526/mbam-l...12-59_.zip.html
