  2. No change.... I am begining to think I may need to wipe the drive and reinstall Windows.
  3. ok - I assume you mean type "afd.sys" into the search field and click on search? The log is attached. Search.txt
  4. It opens a "Mozilla Crash Reporter" window with the option to restart firefox or quit and won't go beyond that. FSS log is attached. FSS.txt
  5. No, at least IE and Firefox wont connect - I can see my network connection is fine but nothing wants to load.
  6. Still the same Firefox is back to reporting it crashed when I try to open it (as opposed to not opening at all)

  8. No improvement unfortunately, IE still says it is not connected to a network, Firefox does not load at all and malwarebytes is now giving an error "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application."

Hello, I encountered some sort of malware/virus, I restarted my computer in safe mode and ran several scans with Malwarebytes and Windows Defender - it appears that I have cleaned off several - including the Trojan:WIN32/Patched.AP... I have done several scans now and everything looks ok but I can no longer connect to the Internet with IE or Firefox and when I attempt to open Malwarebytes it tells me DNSAPI.dll is missing. I am on Windows 8.1, I did have uTorrent installed - I have deleted all files from the uTorrent directory on my local C: and uninstalled in programs and features, I hope this is satisfactory.
