  1. Wow.. Slimperience is a better option and may be a first choice to go for..
  2. "Brave" seems an other option what with other privacy/protection features, but playing media has isdues esp. in youtube Audio is down than normal.. Nevertheless another option to go for.. hoping to also try out 'Slimexperience' and other browsers too.
  3. Tried but no option to set DNS in Android.. Installed Sophos security which covers/protects only Chrome and here too even with Web filtering 'on', the rogue alerts keeps popping up.. So no good, but to opt with 'Adblock plus Browser' or 'Lightning Web Browser'..
  4. Whether DNS setting in Android also needs tweaking, for chrome to also fall in line? though, other browsers working fine doesn't call for DNS tweak, will anyhow check this too..
  5. "Chrome' is the culprit, as everything is fine with 'Adblock plus Browser'for Android and with 'Lightning Web Browser' for Android.. 'NortonConnect Safe' content filter is fine and prevents rogue alerts/social engineering malicious intents for a particular website both for PC's and Android device access..So, chrome is 'no-no' for Android.. Though the issue was not tested by connecting any other Android device to the network, sure the result will be no different. In fact, while on this tested 'Fire.Onion' TOR browser for Android but the 'captcha' verification is so annoying.. unless 'annonymity' is 'key' better to stay away from 'Fire.Onion'.. The only question that now remains is what is wrong withb Chrome in Android? Tks..
  6. On further check, startled to realise that DNS setting in router (to 'NortonConnectSafe') has no effect on Android device while it works only with PC's.. No wonder, VPN also does'nt work in Android.. Clueless as to what the overriding factor is for DNS/VPN override in Android device?.. So, why is it so and how to 'filter content' in Android? Tks..
  7. Hi, Recently had problems with Android phone which called for factory reset and Android update to 4.4.4.. Now, for security have Bitdefender AV free (cloud based protection), Bullguard AV and also MWB.. but nothing can stop sites from popping rogue alerts / social engineering which is really a concern.. This occurs even though my router DNS is set to 'NortonConnectSafe' for content filtering. Though I ignore the alerts and close popup, it's a concern that other users of the phone could fall prey/respond to these alerts/social engineering tactics and invite trouble.. All scans by AV, MWB are clean .. so, clueless as to how to block the rogue popup's in chrome.. Tried even VPN - 'No root firewall', 'Web protection' by Mobisoft but with no result.. Any suggestions, please. Tku..
  8. Hi, There seems many a rival to Whatsapp like Duo, etc.. particularly performance with video calling even in low bandwidth? any suggesstions? tku..
  9. With VPN there is every possbility of being re-directed to rogue sites with DNS under VPN a grave risk and big no-no for personal use.. Also, one is better off from accessing personal content with free/public wi-fi..As a golden rule, personal access to be only with reliable home network and not with public..More better under wired access ..
  10. yeah..but to what level of trust, when your traffic is routed thru' it? certainly I only use it temporary to access restricted content and never wager on it for personal use..
  11. you can check this too.. (must be similar for v.3).. https://support.malwarebytes.com/customer/portal/articles/1835326-how-do-i-stop-malwarebytes-anti-malware-from-blocking-a-website-or-network-program-that-i-trust-?b_id=6438
  12. A word of caution on VPN use..
  13. VPN will override all protection, your DNS, AV's and unsafe for personal use.. unless you want access to restricted sites/zones, a temporary browser extension should do the job..
  14. Try re-installing older version and un-installing using good uninstall tool, which can remove all traces and try fresh install of latest version .. though, I hav'nt used there r tools which can monitor all registry changes on install and help in uninstall all traces.. Any OS updation hiccups could also pose problems.. OS also needs to be checked.. SFC scan may be necessary to rule out any OS issues
  15. You can't have your cake and eat it too.. Ir's a mine field out there and nothing foolproof. Even popular sites are vulnerable and risky.. So, learn to live with the risks and get the best out of the web.. Good luck..
