  1. Thank you both for the information. I deactivated MBAM on the computer, rebooted, and changed the name on it. Then I opened MBAM (it had correctly reverted to the free version) and re-activated it. After a few hours, I went to MY Account on-line and selected Manage Devices. The PC was still showing the same name. Maybe, in time, the name will show correctly. If not, no biggie. Thanks again!
  2. I have a 3-user license for MBAM Premium and all are in use on my 3 PC's. I would like to change the name on one of the PC's but have some concerns about how my MBAM account will deal with this. Should it be no problem or will it appear as a 4th use of a 3-user license?
  3. Not sure if this should be cause for alarm but thought I'd ask.
  4. C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\mbamservice\Quarantine
  5. Thank you for pointing that out. Seems to have corrected that issue.
  6. May I ask how turning the context menu on is done? I recently upgraded to 3.4.4 and seeing the same thing.
  7. Check Settings > Protection Tab (scroll down a bit)
  8. Hopefully, that will continue to work for you. I have the latest version installed and continue to have the "Protection Layer Starting" issue. Re-installing the product solves the issue temporarily but, in my case, it returns after a few days. It's been like this for several months. Many others having this same issue.
  9. Doing some other installation work that required a reboot. It seems that all protection layers are working now. Will keep an eye on things and see if this changes. Malwarebytes Version: 3.2.2.2029 Component Package Version: 1.0.212 Update Version: 1.0.3005
  10. I'm guessing there's nothing else that can be done with this problem except wait for the developers to determine why this problem has reoccurred. Am I correct in that assumption? I do, however, appreciate the help that is being offered to myself and others.
  11. This issue with Protection Layers being off has been around for awhile now. There are many reports of different protection layers being off and users getting a "starting" message when trying to turn them on. I, along with many other users, are experiencing this. Most likely, you will be asked to supply logs and install the most current version. For me, this was a temporary fix as 24 hours later the issue returned. Hopefully, you will have a better result. Someone will most likely be along soon to provide instructions.
  12. After all the steps yesterday, I woke this morning to again find Web Protection off. From the looks of the forum posts, this issue has reared its head again. Things were fine when I retired last night. MB runs a nightly scan at 2:00 am (which included a new update version). Perhaps this had something to do with the issue returning.
  13. I ran the mb-clean utility. After uninstall-reinstall It appears the Malwarebytes Version Number and the Component Package Number are the same as I posted earlier. The Update Package is 1.0.2995. I now have the most current version installed. For the moment the issue has resolved but it wasn't until several hours later that the problem reappeared. I will keep an eye on things and post back if the problem reoccurs. Thank you. mb-clean-results.txt
  14. Actually, that's what I did two days ago after seeing the issue (I mentioned that in my first post. ). That version worked for a day and then the problem returned. I will, however, try the process again to see what happens. I will post back after giving the download and installation a bit of time. Thank you!
  15. I know this has been an ongoing issue and it appears I've been bitten again. A few months ago my Protection Layer issue seemed to remedy itself on my MB Premium 3.2.2 has been running fine since. However, two days ago, I noticed the orange triangle on the system tray icon had returned and discovered Web Protection was off. Tried turning it on and got the "Starting" message with no results. I updated to the most current version, rebooted, and the problem was gone. However, this morning, I find the same issue. Malwarebytes Version: 3.2.2.2029 Component Package: 1.0.212 Update Package: 1.0.2992 mb-check-results.zip
  16. Yes... that was it! I'll get the logs posted and explain my issue shortly. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.
  17. I am trying to run the FRST.exe file in order to get help with the "Protection Layer Off" issue that has been around awhile. I have downloaded the FRST.exe file but when trying to run it, I get a message, " Windows Defender Smart Screen Has Protected your PC". WD will not let FRST.exe run. There is no option to bypass this and "Run Anyway" (See attachment). Additionally, I have Windows Defender turned off in Services & Startup so I'm confused as to why WD is interfering. A web search says I should go to Control Panel - System & Maintenance and change Smart Screen settings. However, there is no such option in Control Panel - System & Security (see attachment). How can I find the settings to turn Smart Screen off so I can run FRST.exe?
  18. I ran the MB clean-up tool and installed the latest version (MB Version 3.2.2.2029 : Package Version 1.0.2985). This seems to have corrected the Protection Layer issue for me. If your versions are different, you might want to give the clean-up tool a go.
  19. Found the same issue on my Windows 10 machine a few days ago. Web Protection is off and attempting to enable it results is the same "starting" issue that's been sticking its head up occasionally for quite some time now. I'd been without that pesky problem for quite awhile and thought it had been permanently resolved.
