  1. I've been test running JRT over the past few days. Although it emptied out the Content.IE5 folders after one scan, it pulled the same disappearing act when I tried testing it again a day later! I couldn't find any sign of it in Task Manager's process list and am baffled by this behavior. Is there something I should be looking for if I run Process Monitor the next time this happens?
  2. I ran JRT 8.0.8 recently and was shocked when it vanished from the screen in the middle of a scan! I was able to get it to finish a scan by opening the program again, but then my next weird issue happened: it didn't empty out the Content.IE5 folders like it used to! I tried downloading another copy and running it, but it still makes no reference to them. Which is odd, because I ran 8.0.8 not long after it came out and it emptied those temporary files without issue. I'm having this issue on a Windows 7 desktop. I ran a bunch of other scans (ESET, Malwarebytes, etc.) and haven't found any indication of this being due to an infection so far. So what's going on and how do I fix it? Although JRT hasn't repeated its disappearing act, I'm still curious as to what happened.
  3. Okay, I figured it out. I had forgotten turned on the "Delete browsing history on exit" option recently. When I turned it off and tried recreating the situation, I stopped getting the IE notifications. But I'd still love a good tutorial on Process Monitor and Autoruns for beginners if anyone knows where I can find any online.
  4. I'm having a similar issue, only I get that kind of notification about a minute after I've closed Internet Explorer. It just started happening today and I'd really like to know what's going on. I downloaded Process Monitor and Autoruns, but don't know what to look for since terms like "command line" and "parent process" are alien to me. Could somebody please help me out?
  5. When I opened Malwarebytes Mobile today, I noticed something odd. I had a "your device has issues" notice in red text on my main screen despite it usually being the green message about me not having issues. When I hit "Fix Now," I was told I had new apps which needed to be scanned. But like the title says, I hadn't installed any apps! Even though MBAM gave the all clear after the scan, I'm still curious as to what just happened and would like to figure out what the new apps are. I don't see anything that looks like it hasn't been there before. I had my Droid on at a public library earlier today, but did not use their Wi-Fi and had my Wi-Fi turned off. Could something still have slipped on my phone anyway?
  6. I tried downloading and installing the new version again and am no longer having the update issue. Thanks again for the help!
  7. The new versions keeps detecting and downloading an update each time I run it. This happens even if I run one scan immediately after another finishes. On top of that, it will delete the same number of random "Content.IE5" folders during the first scan. Said folders never have the same name twice. Here's an example from my last scan log: File System: 4 Successfully deleted: C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\CBR8E9ZO (Folder) Successfully deleted: C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\I66A6E9U (Folder) Successfully deleted: C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\PV48FE3K (Folder) Successfully deleted: C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\WII2I1EG (Folder) I ran a bunch of other scans (Malwarebytes, ESET, etc.) and found no other issues, so this doesn't seem to be the result of any infection. I would appreciate any feedback on the matter.
  8. Thank you. I ran the test program and everything is working. Please let me know if I should do anything else.
  9. I am running version What should I check to determine that MBAE is running correctly?
  10. I just turned on my computer (HP desktop running Windows 7 Home Premium 64) and was greeted with the following error message: "mbae.exe - Entry Point not Found The procedure entry point _MbaeLoadProtectedApplications@16 could not be located in the dynamic link library mbae-api.dll." Naturally, MBAE did not start up and was not present in the task manager. But after a soft restart, it works fine. Was this a random glitch or is there something else going on here?
