  1. Sorry for the long while without a reply. Quick answer here, my SSD was failing. After bluescreening multiple times a day for a while, I eventually got a new BSOD message saying INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE. Popped a new SSD in and all the crashes stopped. I can still access files on it as a secondary drive, I just can no longer boot from it. Even with old SSD connected, no crashes occur. :) Its weird that it passed every test I threw at it though.
  2. Hey all. I've been going crazy the past couple months. Was having a system that started bluescreening all of a sudden. (Didn't install any new programs, no new hardware was installed, BIOS not updated, etc.) Started happening more frequently, and since I've been wanting to upgrade for a while, thought now would be a good time and hopefully stop the BSODs. I put in a new set of RAM, new motherboard, new CPU, new GPU. The only things I did not swap are the SSD/HDD, and power supply. Still bluescreening. Thought maybe my SATA cable was going bad, swapped that out too, still bluescreening. I also: - Ran chkdsk, no errors found. - Ran sfc /scannow, no errors found. - Ran MemTest86, no errors found. - Stress tested CPU, no cashes - Stress tested GPU, no crashes. - Ran SMART test, no bad sectors found. - Did a reinstall (not a fresh install, I kept my files) of Windows, bluescreens still appear. - Disabled my overclock and just let my system run on stock settings, bluescreens still appear. - Tried uninstalling Avast and Malwarebytes, bluescreens still appear. - Ran driver verifier, system would not get past login until I turned it off via safemode. Bluescreens happen at random intervals. Sometimes I will get 2 within 5 minutes of each other, sometimes I will go 12 hours without getting one. Sometimes its while I am gaming, other times I'm only browsing the web. Errors I have seen so far: - CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT - KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED - WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR - IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL - UNEXPECTED_KERNAL_MODE_TRAP (this one only appeared when I was running driver verifier) Current setup: Motherboard: ASUS ROG Maximus XI Hero Z390 CPU: Intel i7-9700K GPU: MSI Armor NVIDIA GTX 1070 RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 4 x 8GB (32 GB total) SSD: Samsung 850 Pro HDD: Seagate Barracuda PSU: Corsair HX1000i I do not have a spare PSU or SSD to see if they are failing, and I am just about at a loss. It seems half of the results on Google say my PSU is failing, some say my SSD is failing, some say its drivers, but without expensive tools or spare parts, I do not know what else to try. Any suggestions? Malwarebytes support log attached. mbst-grab-results.zip
  3. Oh I couldn't RMA it, they wouldn't take it for reasons I can't remember. Had to just buy one. I didn't have a USB hard drive hooked up, but good to know for the future.
  4. I ended up just buying a new mobo and that solved the issue, so my board was probably just fried. Thanks everyone for your help, regardless.
  5. All cable seating is fine, I have no friends in the area, already tried removing everything other than the PSU and mobo, including taking them out of the case, still no progress.
  6. Resetting CMOS didn't help, both removing and replacing the battery, and jumping the pins. The overclock I have is only .5 Ghz as well, and it worked fine for over a year. Just stressed it a couple weeks before it died, and the performance did not degrade since day 1. Dust is also not an issue, I clean my PC regularly. About to just buy a new motherboard, Gigabyte is not getting back to me.
  7. (Please move this if its not in the correct location.) Hello all. So I have a system that I'm just now getting around to diagnosing. Been without a desktop for a couple months now. My system stopped working suddenly, as the title states, when I hit the power button, the LEDs turn on and fans start, then within 2 seconds it immediately shuts off. No beep codes, no display. The power button on the motherboard itself stays lit the entire time though. I don't have a repair shop near me or any spare parts lying around to test with, and I don't want to just buy random parts until I find the problem. Is this the sign of a dead motherboard, or CPU, or what? My parts include: CPU: Intel i7-4770K Motherboard: Gigabyte Z87X-UD3H Power Supply: Corsair HX1000i RAM: G Skill Sniper Series 4 x 4 GB Case: Rosewill Challenger U3
  8. Your MB2 license carries over. Whenever Malwarebytes upgrades, your license is not affected.
  9. Yes yardbird, that was me. And thanks 1PW. I'd lock this thread if I could, but I'm not seeing an option to. Or at least its not obvious enough. *nudges forum Admin(s)*
  10. Hello, first off, I didn't see a bug report section, so if there's one I didn't see, please move this thread, or at least notify me of the directory so I know in the future. There is a bug with the self-protection module feature. There was a MBAM icon set on my desktop (it was a while ago, I don't remember if I accidentally did it, or if it just happened over a restart) and I was not able to delete it. It said I required Administrator permissions, even though I am already an Administrator. I tried deleting the icon though the Explorer directory too, as well as trying to from an elevated command prompt. Safe mode too through all the above attempts, still no success. After a bit of research, I found that several others have had the same issue, and they fixed it by disabling the self-protection module. I did so, and problem fixed itself. Is this intentional?
  11. CULPRIT FOUND! Followed all your instructions, installing one extension at a time, except one. When I went to install the final one, I saw several dozen reviews on it from the past few days saying it has turned into Malware. Used to be fine, but I guess it got compromised or something just recently. Restarted one last time, surfing webpages just fine, no warning from Malwarebytes. Imported all bookmarks, re-synced Chrome, restarted computer again, relaunched Chrome, still no warnings. I can't thank you enough. The only thing that happens now is that I can no longer start OneDrive...whenever I start it I get the message saying OneDrive has stopped responding, even after a full un-install-re-install. Probably just damage from the virus. But I can get Microsoft to help me with that. I'll update this thread in a week or so just to verify that the virus doesn't return. One last question though, why did you recommend I install Adblock Plus for the diagnosis? Extension in question: (This will NOT directly download extension to your computer.): https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/hide-my-adblocker/gihcngphjjankfngmgdkihhngndcdflc/reviews Thanks for being an awesome forum. Clearly I've made the right decision in purchasing Malwarebytes.
  12. ^ *and only just recently started happening, I meant to add. None of my Chrome settings have changed through my own input in like 8 months.
  13. That's not even the Proxy extension I have. I know its not my extensions causing the issue anyways though. I've had all of these plugins for years, on several computers, and the issue only occurs on this one.
  14. Fixlog.txt Nothing found on the Chrome Cleanup Tool, Malwarebytes warning still occurring. I gotta say though I'm surprised someone who doesn't even know me personally is trying to hard to help me out. Thanks for that.
