  5. Hello,Today I discovered that my chrome's homepage was changed to "www.viceice.com" and all extensions and plugins were gone. I found out that it was a browser hijacker. Seems to be a newer malware cos there arent many guides online about this, just two or three and they didnt work. I tried the guide on malwaretips.com's website related to viceice.com and another website; used the following software/tools :AdwcleanerMalwarebytesHitmanproJunkware removal toolSpyhunterand Emisoft emergency kit. Malwarebytes, spyhunter, adwcleaner and Hitman did remove a few files, but the problem still persists. Th
  6. Im really not sure how! Can an application on my pc change the location of other devices connected to the same network? I just found this, does this mean my ISP is screwing with me? This is ridiculous isnt it? My next step is formatting my pc and buying a new router....pff! But thanks for all the help David.
  7. okay, in that case, theres no problem with the ip address then. Thanks a lot for clearing that. But how do i deal with the geolocation ?
  8. yess and thats what making me pull my hair out!! The 172.16.x.x ip is static, and thats what i enter into my router settings page. Unless i enter exactly that i lose my connectivity. I called up my ISP and told them that this 175.101 is the ip address i see and not 172.16, and they refused to even take a complaint. They said "thats impossible, your ip is 172.16.x.x and thats what it shows here for us too." But thats not even the big problem, when i tried google maps or even bing maps , the location always shows some place in saudi. I not even sure where the problem is..
  9. Sure, Ur right, The LAN scheme is , and the IP on desktop shows 175.101.67.xxx ....it shows the same thing on the mobiles as well. But I know that my actual IP (static) is 172.16.2xx.xx (sorry if the x's arent helpful, Im not sure if posting the entire ip address online is safe)
  10. Dave, Its Excell Media, cable broadband (not sure what kind, its just called broadband here in india), Netgear WGR614v10 router, 1 desktop and 3 mobiles connected. Not sure if this was the answer u were expecting :/
  11. Hi, Im in a bit of a panic now cos my ip address shows something else (on sites like whatsmyip) and my location has changed to saudi arabia on all my devices connected to my router. All location preferences like youtube are showing arabic stuff. I tried restarting the router yet nothing, i even called up my ISP and asked them if they changed my IP or if there's a problem or anything, they said everything's fine. I even reset the router twice and manually flashed a firmware. Still same. I just recovered from a malware attack, ran a bunch of malware removal software, and when one of those softw
