  1. The important part is that today's scan, as scheduled, was completed and I was able to delete its report and log successfully, There is a glitch with the 'most recent scan' stats because it shows last month's stats instead of this month's stats, I quit the program through the system tray, as instructed, and just rebooted but it still shows last month's stats. This glitch is a minor issue, since it is administrative not functional, but please forward it to the developers nonetheless.
  2. I opened it through the desktop shortcut icon, closed it and waited a few mins but it still shows the stats for Apr 1. There is obviously a glitch that is preventing the section from displaying the most recent monthly scan stats.
  3. The log and report were deleted on Apr1, after the scan, meaning that the report section now shows as being empty but the 'most recent scan' is showing as Apr 1 not May 1 so I am stumped.
  4. When I opened the program this morning, it showed that an automatic scan was completed today (May 1) and I was able to delete the log and report successfully-That is not the issue. Can the section in question be deleted? If yes, what am I missing? If not, why wouldn't it show 'today's' scan instead of kast month's scan?
  5. As mentioned at the top of this thread, 'a scan is run on the first of each month.' This section shows the most recent scan and likely cannot be deleted, which is fine, but it should show May 1 not Apr 1. It is a minor issue but there is obviously a glitch.,
  6. Portos: The issue is not deleting a log report-I am aware how to do that. On the opening page, it shows 'Detection History,' 'Scanner,' and 'Real Time Protection.' When 'Scanner' is clicked, it brings up the 'Scanner,' 'Scan Schedule,' and 'Reports' tabs. When 'Scanner' is clicked, it shows the 'Last Scan' details on the right side. The details are displayed for Apr 1. Even if this section cannot be cleared, why wouldn't it show for May 1 since a scan was completed today?
  7. I will attempt to figure it out myself and update this thread if I still require assistance.
  8. I meant that I have the paid version. Please answer my question based on that then.
  9. Malwarebytes Free Version: 4.1.0.56 When I click on the 'Scanner' section, it brings up the 'last scan' details with the option to 'view report.' When 'view report' is clicked, it shows the scan results and it can be closed but there is no option to delete it. I have a monthly scan set for the first day of each month and obviously the last scan was today (May 1). I was able to delete today's scan details but not the details from Apr 1. Am I missing something, is there a glitch, or can the previous month's details not be deleted?
  10. That wraps it up-Thanks again for the clarifications.
  11. Lastly, when you stated that 'yes, it opens the GUI,' were you agreeing that the Start Menu and the Desktop Shortcut Icon are other ways to access the Malwarebytes Free GUI?
  12. I did not even know the feature existed since, like you, I just open the program and scan that way. As a result, I turned the option off. It is convenient to know that the right-click option is there to scan specific folders or files only. Does the shortcut scan .dll files?
  13. 1. Am I correct that right-clicking a folder or specific file only scans that specific file or folder? If so, I got confused because I thought that the shortcut was to access a 'system scan' so I could not understand why every folder and file would allow access to it. 2. Does the shortcut scan .dll files? 3. I am using Win 7 so I can access the application through the Start Menu or the Desktop Shortcut Icon (without having to access Windows Explorer). Is the right-click option in Windows Explorer still the ‘quickest’ way to scan since the Start Menu and Desktop Shortcut Icon still require the software to be opened first and Win Explorer allows specific folders and files to be scanned?
  14. One last question: In order to avoid opening unnecessary files within the folder (e.g .dll extensions), why wouldn't the right-click option only be available with the mbam.exe file, since that is the application.
  15. Is this a new feature or was it is available in previous versions?
  16. Portos: Thank you for the prompt response. Please answer each question separately. 1a, Is this option basically a shortcut to Malwarebytes Free that allows a user to scan without opening the software directly? b. If so, what folder/file specifically is the shortcut attached to? c. Does the shortcut also apply to checking for updates or only for scanning purposes?
  17. Version 4.0.4.49 Hello. I just installed the latest version of Malwarebytes Free. Under Settings, there is an option to 'Add Malwarebytes Options To Windows Explorer' and it is turned on by default. What does this option refer to?
  18. @Exile360 To be clear, no, the pop-ups are not displayed frequently. This one (RE: Sharing with family and friends) was the first one in a long time. I just wondered if there was a setting that can be turned off or if the infrequent pop-ups are the 'trade-off' for free software.
  19. Malwarebytes Free Version 3.8.3.2965 Can pop-ups (advertising, etc) be turned off? If so, what are the steps?
  20. Issue resolved. Thank you for your expertise.
  21. For my purposes in order to receive email notifications only, there should be checkmarks beside 'a notification when new content is posted',' 'automatically follow new content I post', and 'automatically follow new content I reply to' and Options 1 and 2 have checkmarks under the Email column. Is that correct?
  22. Exile360: Yes, I understand the difference between the terminology of the two columns and the various options listed under each. However, why are there the two options (with checkmark options) plus all of the options under the two columns?' None of the options are clearly titled 'receive email notifications when someone replies to my thread.'
  23. Disregard the above message-The following is what I want to know and I have worded it clearer: 1a. I only want to receive email notifications when someone replies to my post-Does a checkmark get placed beside 'Automatically follow new content I post,' 'Automatically follow content I reply,' or both? b Does a checkmark get placed in the Email column for 'New content for things I follow ,'Someone comments on something I follow,' or both? c. What is the difference between 'Automatically follow new content I post,' 'Automatically follow content I reply to,' 'New content for things I follow,' and 'Someone comments on something I follow? Surely, an option simply stating 'receive email notifications' with a checkmark option would be a lot clearer than all of this confusing options.
  24. I am confused so it must just be me-Please answer each question separately: 1a. Does 'New content for things I follow,' ‘Someone comments on something I follow,' or both mean that I will receive email notifications? b. Why is 'New content for things I follow' listed twice, once in the checkmark section and again under Emails/Notifications and why is ‘Someone comments on something I follow' also listed twice, once in the checkmark section and under Emails/Notification? Surely, an option stating 'receive email notifications' with a checkmark option would be a lot clearer.
