  1. Is there a way for both to work together without conflicts, for instance, by disabling the anti-exploit component of HMPA? Is that enough to eliminate conflicts between the two?

the reason I would want to do this is because the anti-exploit component of HMPA is not compatible with Sandboxie. So if I want anti-exploit protection for a program running in Sandboxie, I need something like MBAE, which has a template to make it compatible. On the other hand, HMPA does certain things that MBAE does not. So I am wondering if there is a way to combine them both without conflicts?

  2. cyberghost, I wish I could follow your advice, but the quarantine window is stubbornly refusing to show the entire path of the file in question. So I don't even know what file it is.

I posted separately about that problem.

  3. the quarantine window does not display the name of the file, and the second half of the location is cut off, so I can't see that either. Hovering with the mouse doesn't reveal the hidden part of the path. And right-click doesn't work .

So how can I tell what has been quarantined, so I will know whether to restore it or not?

  4. no, no, it was not quarantined. I meant that it was NOT flagged as a false positive. Sorry I wasn't clear.

I was suggesting that a relatively uncommon program like this should perhaps  have been quarantined, but in fact it wasn't.

  5. I ran this OCR program, which converts image files into text docs of various sorts.

    No false positive.

I am not sure if that is good or bad.

When I had Bitdefender 2016 installed, with ransomware protection enabled, ABBYY was flagged.
