For several days, every single time Malwarebytes completes a scan, I receive this warning: Vendor: PUP.Optional.Spigot.A Location: C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\cc6syk4c.default\prefs.js And every single time I quarantine it and delete it, but the warnings never end. If this really is malware, why can’t Malwarebytes get rid of it? Could this be a false positive? I see no indication anywhere in my system of any infection by Spigot.A, and neither Spigot.A nor Dealio are listed in my installed programs. I’ve run full scans with Norton, Ad-Aware, Advanced SystemCare Pro and System Mechanic, and they find nothing. I suspect this is not a malicious file but something that Firefox needs and recreates every time it is deleted. So, if it is a false positive, how can I stop these endless Malwarebytes warnings, and if it really is a malware infection, how can I get rid of it once and for all? Thanks
