  1. Sorry if I got a bit cross yesterday, that is not my usual demeanor. I guess I was feeling a bit irritable. I know you are trying to help and I am gratefull. That is useful information you supplied and I do appreciate you input. I usually do scan my entire system with MBAM but I occasionally scan individual file when I download them because antivirus programs generally do not catch malware and I like to scan them before I run or store them. That was when I noticed the banner ads. It really is a minor point, but I just irratated me at the time. I am glad you mentioned Virus Total and I will give it a whirl. Do you know if VT is just antivirus or does it also recognize any types of malware because there are several types of malware that MBAM does not catch.
  2. I don't use MBAM to scan for virus. I scan for files containing malware. Look, I posted here because I was concerned about my $35 Premium MBAM having ad banners as though it were a shareware program. Now I am getting suggestions to scan my programs with third party freeware or even use a anti-virus program. I really like using MBAM, which is why I chose to support it with my purchase of MBAM Premium. Now I as questioning whether I should have stayed with the freeware. I know i will for my other 3 machines
  3. How about a zip file larger than 32mb? .zip, .rar .7z and other archives can be much larger and contain many files. I certainly don't want to extract and scan each individually.
  4. Thanks for the tip. I was initially skeptical especially since no download option just in INSTALL button, but then I noticed VirusTotal is owned my Google so now I feel more comfortable. This is still not the total solution since it is limited to files under 32mb.
  5. If you want to hawk your product to current customers just send us a monthly email. I scan every new file I download or import and there is the banner staring me in the face. I already made my decision to purchase or not the last 50 times I saw it.
  6. I was just suprised that with the last update that the banner was still in the product. This is the only paid product I have that openly solicits to it customer inside a paid product and it is 20% of the scan page. I can understand and support it on their free product, but ad removal was part of the reason I purchased the premium product. Well this is the last I will say on this matter, I just wanted to express my disappointment. Thanks for your response.
  7. One year ago in this forum members complained about the ad banner on the bottom of the scan page of the Malwarebytes Premium program. See then link: https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?/topic/143942-big-banner-are-the-bottom/ The forum administrator said "We will most likely add an option to disable the ad on the Dashboard in a future release." Where is the option to disable the ad? Am I missing something. I am getting really tired of seeing solicitations every time I run a scan.
