  1. Here are the results of ComboFix *************************************** ComboFix 10-01-16.04 - Gary 01/17/2010 20:07:35.1.2 - x86 Microsoft
  2. Chris, with all due respect we have performed the uninstall and run the cleanup utility numerous times. I fail to see where performing that process one more time will resolve anything. But we will due so again, though I hold out no hope that it will put an end to our pain. Lynn
  3. Chris Grabbed a copy of MBam from his wife's identical Dell laptop and we still get the same error as before and no SpywareBot is installed. We are mystified with this one. Malwarebytes has been working flawlessly for close to two years on this Dell D620 laptop. Lynn
  4. Thanks Chris. We try your suggestions and get back to you this weekend.
  5. Done as requested. At the end of the installation, the same error message was displayed. Also, like before, there was an icon on the desktop which, when clicked, showed the same error message. Malwarebytes "never" actually launches. I also had them uninstall Malwarebytes and reboot the laptop. After it booted I had them reboot again, this time to safe mode for the installation. Same error at the end of the install. Malwarebytes will not run. So, again no resolution.
  6. Not even on suggestion in two weeks time... Thanks for the support.
  7. Per instructions received here http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.p...error+code+0,48 I have performed the check list of steps with the exception of running a Malwarebytes scan, due to the fact that this is my original issue. If you refer to my original post you will see that I cannot get Malware bytes to run, regardless of whether or not NIS is disabeled or installed. The problem manifested itself during an update of a Malwarebytes install that had been installed and functioning for more than a year. I continually receive the 703 (o,48) error even after completely uninstalling it. running mbam-clean, disabeling NIS, and then completely uninstalling NIS (don't get me started on that fiasco), manually cleaning the registry for any Malwarebytes remnants after the mbam-clean. I have performed probably close to a hundred Malwarebytes installs for my clients and have just recently become a Malwarebytes reseller (yes-we are a network integrator). This is the first time i have not been able to overcome an installation issue. So... less the Malwarebytes scan results wich I cannot provide since it won't run, I have performed the following per your instructions: Ran Defogger to disable the CD-Rom Emulation software Run DSS with the reports posted below and attached the log Run the GMER Rootkit scanner and attached the log file The DSS and GMER logs are zipped and attached to this posting. I await your response. Thanks in advance for any assistance you may provide.
