  1. Hi there! We have recently begun offering 2-year licenses for MBAM directly from our website store (and via in-app cart purchase, where available) as well. So these licenses are definitely legit.
  2. Hello-- To clarify, this issue will still be present in MBAM 2.2.0.1024. You can run the same hotfix as before which will fix the issue. Simply follow the instructions in this post. The MBAM System Requirements were clarified with this release to specify that in order to run MBAM you'll need a processor with SSE2 support. At some point in the future the hotfix may no longer work and you may not be able to run MBAM if you've still got one of those older processors. But for now you can continue to use MBAM by running that earlier hotfix.
  3. Hi calintexas-- You do not need to take any special steps and may simply install MBAM 2.2.0.1024 over 2.1.8.1057. This latest release addressed a number of issues with limited user accounts, so hopefully you'll no longer run into any problems.
  4. Hi Jwb4-- What daledoc1 explained is correct: clicking a "Renew" button from within MBAM or on any of the tray notification pop ups you should launch a web browser to our website or online shopping cart (depending on where you purchased originally). It seems like something might be blocking the web page from launching. The best thing to do would be to contact our Help Desk HERE. They can help get you squared away. Thanks,

  6. Hi Hardhead-- You are correct that we do now have a new Malwarebytes for Mac version. But currently our mobile product only supports Android devices. We have received other requests for an iOS version though, so it's something that we're taking a look at.
  7. Hi rusher-- I've made a note of this issue. I see that some instances where a colon is required have been addressed and fixed for our next release, but unfortunately it doesn't look like all were. We'll get them fixed as soon as we can. And not to worry about your topics in this Support forum. Just keep the "comments and suggestions" section in mind for next time.
  8. Hi rusher-- Thank you for your suggestions! As Support stated we now only offer the ability to add a web exclusion by right-clicking on the tray icon after a detection since we had too much feedback that allowing exclusions straight from the notification was confusing for most users. A simple right-click on the tray icon now shows the address with a "click to add to exclusions" entry, so we still feel this is a quick option (rather than manually entering the IP or Domain every time). Your first suggestion to be able to right-click on a file or folder and Exclude from detection is a good one, and we've got that on the list for consideration in a future release. I'm not sure about the other one though--ability to exclude threats by name. This seems like it could have some potential security implications, which is why we prefer you add the specific file(s) or folders to exclusions. There may be special cases where you may want a specific "threat" excluded, but this is not something the majority of our users do.
  9. Hi Edv-- It sounds like you're running into a issue that can happen with our new licensing system in certain rare circumstances. Apologies for any confusion here! We'll have a fix for this problem once our next Malwarebytes Anti-Malware program update is released (coming soon!). For now you can certainly feel free to use the Premium features with no issue whatsoever--I encourage you to.
  10. Hi Tabvla-- There is no new update beyond what I had already stated in this post: >>Please follow the steps that my colleague tetonbob outlined in his post here. That should resolve the issue until our next MBAM update is released with the permanent fix. The interim fix to run mbam2-rules so far has been working great for any users experiencing this issue. We're hoping to release the next MBAM patch release just as quickly as possible (and there is an end-date in sight!), but I cannot give you an exact release date. It's dependent on many issues such as QA testing, feedback from early testers, etc. As usual we'll post an announcement in the main Malwarebytes news forum here once the release is available, so would be best to watch that forum.
  11. Hi marsha1979-- Just wanted to give you (and any others who may be experiencing this issue) another update. We've tested the latest drivers released by Rivet Networks (makers of the Killer networking products) and are happy to confirm that they've implemented a fix so that you can now use both Malwarebytes Web Protection and Killer Network Manager's Bandwidth Control alongside each other with no issues. You can download the latest Killer drivers from this site. We appreciated your patience as we worked toward a solution here!
  12. Hi vaanja! Thank you for your interest in translating. Please see the PM that I sent you with further details and information on translating Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.
  13. Hello, wsleone-- A couple options here... If you believe a domain is being blocked by Malwarebytes' Web Protection in error, you may report it as a false positive in this forum. In the meantime, we do support wildcards for Domain exclusions. To exclude all sub-domains simply use the format: *.domainname.com So with your example "www. *. streamcloud.eu" you would enter exactly the same information without the "www" and it should add the exclusion to the list. Let us know if you have further questions. Thanks,
  14. Thank you, Albert_Flasher. We appreciate your feedback. I've made sure it's been forwarded to the appropriate folks in charge.
  15. Hello, mbw62-- Thank you for your feedback on the license key being visible. You are correct that this is new as of MBAM 2.1.8. The change was made after repeated requests from users to have easier access to their license information. While there is always the possibility of abuse depending on who has access to your system and can see your licenses, the benefits far outweigh the risks. Customers who have trouble with their product can now very easily find their license key to provide to our Support team when they need assistance. This allows us to immediately begin helping users as opposed to having several back and forth communications as we attempt to track down the transactions and license key in question. So overall most feedback has been very positive on this change.
  16. It's best to think of the "volume licenses" as one single, one-year license that is good on up to the number of PCs specified / purchased. So in this example, if you purchased a 10-PC license now it would be an annual subscription for use on up to 10 PCs starting on purchase date. So you are correct that you would only get 5 months on the subscription for the PCs you installed on later. Again, what you're purchasing is an annual subscription so if you don't intend to use the full quantity purchased for the entire year, then you might want to consider purchasing a license for up to fewer PCs to start.
  17. Hi Albert_Flasher-- When you say "bulk purchases" are you referring to purchasing multiple copies of MBAM from our online store? If so, then for any keys purchased directly from our Malwarebytes ecommerce store the annual subscription starts as of the date of purchase NOT the date of activation. It has actually been this way for direct purchases since we moved to an annual subscription model. Let us know if you have any further questions or feedback. Thanks,
  18. Hi Mike— I’ve alerted our Sales team to your concerns. As Porthos pointed out, we did attempt to provide all resellers with advance notice via email about 30 days ago, so not sure what happened in your case. Definitely can understand how this could be quite a shock if it appeared to happen out of the blue though! And I’m not sure why you’re seeing what you’re seeing with the various Renew and Purchase buttons. I’ve just tested the Renew button on the MBAM My Account screen and it goes to a page with the 1 year/3-PC, $24.95 price. So we’d need to take a look at the specific URL that you’re seeing in order to dig in deeper. Same for the Buy Now button on website. Could depend on where and how you’re clicking through, but I see the pricing that matches up with the KB article model. But bottom line here, the intention is that all renewals for subscription purchases should be grandfathered in at the 1 year/3-PC $24.95 price. I’ll follow up with a PM here shortly as well… Thanks,
  19. Hi Tabvla and DavidMbncus-- I know it can be extremely frustrating waiting on a fix after you've reported a problem what seems like ages ago. Our QA and dev teams have been actively researching this issue and working not only on a permanent fix to be included in our next patch release, but also trying to figure out an interim work-around that we could provide to folks experiencing this immediately--precisely because we understand this is an important issue that needs to be addressed ASAP. And I'm happy to report we have a solution for you now that should fix the problem of database updates not being handled correctly in LUAs, and the related issue of Malicious Website Protection not starting correctly. Please follow the steps that my colleague tetonbob outlined in his post here. That should resolve the issue until our next MBAM update is released with the permanent fix. As for your other questions, DavidMbncus, I'll do my best to answer where I can. We still are planning to add Command Line support back into the product again in a future release, but I can tell you that it will not be in our next planned patch release. It will more than likely be part of the larger release we're also working on that involves an extensive re-architecture of MBAM. So I'm afraid the wait on that one is going to be a bit longer. As far as a way to test your real-time Malware Protection is actually working, you could try Spycar. Our real-time protection should alert on its tests. (note that spycar is not a Malwarebytes-sponsored site or product, so I'm only pointing it out as a potential resource -- you should use it at your own risk.) And lastly, as to the question about it not being my job to help further on this issue, I hope you see from this response that's not the case at all. It's very much my job. All our teams--QA, Dev and Product Management--work together daily solving problems (like this one) and getting fixes (and new features!) released just as quickly as possible. However I'm sure you understand that even though we all want this process to happen quickly, it takes time so we can devote proper test time to ensure we don't make matters worse by rushing out code that hasn't been fully tested. So "quick" never really seems quick enough.
  20. And actually I have another update on this... We've actually been working with Rivet Networks on this issue and they informed earlier this week that they should be releasing a new driver that fixes this problem in the next week or two (assuming all their testing goes as planned). Our internal testing of a preview build shows that with this new driver installed you'll then be able to have both Malwarebytes Malicious Website Protection and the Killer Network Manager Bandwidth Control setting enabled.
  21. That is correct. We aim to have an updated mbam_rules.zip posted every week, typically on Thursdays. The file was updated yesterday, as expected, so if you were to re-download today the databases would be more up-to-date.
  22. Hi Crusher21-- We've actually been actively working on this particular conflict and now have more information about exactly why it's happening. Here's the technical reason for this: Killer Network interface card installs a Windows Filter Platform device driver that is used to bypass the Windows TCP/IP stack. However, because this driver bypasses the standard Windows TCP/IP stack, Malwarebytes Web Protection is unable to process the associated network traffic, and as a result, webpages do not load. We are working with contacts at Qualcomm to attempt to resolve this conflict, but in the meantime if you wish to use both MBAM and Killer Network Manager you must employ one of the work-arounds identified: either disable MBAM Website Protection or disabled the Killer Network Manager bandwidth control setting. Hopefully we'll be able to resolve this issue in a future update, but in this case there is a lot dependent on Qualcomm so any fix is not fully under our control.
  23. Hello-- You should not have to be online to perform a scan, which means you are not required to update when you don't have a connection. While we strongly recommend an update before a scan, and thus built it into the default scan flow, if you are offline/not connected you should still be able to perform a scan with whatever the latest databases are that are available on your system. The first phase of the scan "Checking for updates" will simply fail gracefully and the scan will move on to the next phase automatically. If you are not seeing this behavior, then there is something else going on. We have been investigating numerous issues around database updates, and there are known problems with attempting to update while running in a limited user account. We hope to have these problems addressed in our next patch release.
  24. Hi Serenity-- Thank you for your feedback! We're looking at all the Settings and there are definitely better ways to show the various options that are only available in the Free version. You should see some improvement in this area in a future update.
  25. Thanks for pointing that one out, Aura! That should be an easy fix.
