  1. When I tried to set up and log into my Malwarebytes account, it talked about one former product I had (anti-exploit) as being expired, but I was told by someone that since I did the upgrade to premium, it contained all the products I originally had. Now it is giving the same issues, even redownloaded, on all of the computers I have Malwarebytes on, sometimes working, sometimes not. My subscription isn't due to expire for a number of months, so I don't understand what's wrong with this. Would appreciated any assistance. Our issue sounds similar, Carverdank--hope yours is resolved too!

  3. My Malwarebytes was working fine, but the program won't run or open following Windows Updates. I'm not certain if it's Malware from a message I received or from the updates. When I did troubleshooting, it came back saying there was an mbam incompatibility issue. Please help--thanks!!
  4. Hi Ron, I did take your advice and updated the browser. When I've turned the computer on, twice I've received the following message when I've tried accessing the internet: "Failure of Web Server bridge: No backend server available for connection: timed out after 10 seconds or idempotent set to OFF or method not idempotent." I closed out and re-opened the internet, able to use it okay, but there are slow pauses and slow functionality in e-mail and so forth. Is that normal for IE 11? Thank you so much for all your help--I really appreciate the time the Malwarebytes staff takes to assist people.
  5. Ok. Thanks, Ron. I may have to use a different browser because IE (though running much better now) still loses internet connection randomly and I have to restart it (not the computer, just IE). It does, however, resolve quickly. I just have one further question for you. Are Malware Anti-Exploit Premium and Malware Premium 3.0 two separate kinds of security that a person should have or does one do it all? Just curious if one or both are needed/helpful to purchase. Thank you again for everything.
  6. The running of the computer is definitely improved. When I put it on "sleep" and then turn it on again, the internet still hesitates at times and I have to close it out, but it seems to merely be an issue with a blue bar (from Microsoft) that comes up telling me to update to a new version of internet which I don't wish to do (it would conflict with professional software I have). If I had to guess, that seems to be the only issue remaining. Otherwise, Windows starts faster, runs much better, and the problems resolve quickly and easily without hard shutdowns and I'm able to access that task menu again. I'm very grateful for your help and insight. My only remaining question would be whether you have any advice on the Microsoft blue bar update and when the computer is turned off and turned on again, there is a Microsoft support window that opens when I access internet that slows things and can cause freezes.
  7. As per your instructions, I uninstalled that software (it had told me Java was the latest version when I checked it, but it always slowed my computer when starting up, so I did the uninstall to the 3 items you mentioned). The fixlog is attached. I did read and save the msconfig article, but as I'm less tech savvy I don't fully understand how to change to one of the suggested programs for a startup. Fixlog.txt
  8. I restarted as you instructed, and the files are attached. FRST.txt Addition.txt
  9. Thank you for taking a look, Ron. That must be the issue (McAfee); I see it running better post-fix but still had a temporary issue connecting to the internet after the re-start. I've attached the fixlog as requested. ~M Fixlog.txt
  10. Dear Ron, Thank you for your help and reply. I've attached the logs (had trouble finding out whether my system is 32 or 64 though I followed steps to find out, but I ran the latter version). ~M FRST.txt Addition.txt
  11. Dear Malwarebytes forum, I've received great assistance from you in the past, and am currently experiencing a new issue. My computer is suddenly extremely slow to start up; the control, alt, delete won't work to get to the Task menu and I receive an error message after a long time of seeing a black screen; I can click on icons for programs and get either no response or wait a very long time to get a response; my internet connectivity will suddenly disconnect or the screen will freeze and I'll have to do a hard shutdown. I haven't had these issues before and am seeking your help and expertise. A family member had the same issues on their computer (they'd used the same network as I have) and I wondered if we were both infected (they are receiving assistance to resolve the issue as well and saw a threat detected). Thank you for any help you can offer. ~M
  12. It was advertising a Windows 10 upgrade; I looked up options from Microsoft and saw that people had been experiencing this when starting up their computers. It was an installed update it seems, so I uninstalled it. But I'm having problems with Google search now--(it may be that problems occur when my computer updates; I just wanted to ask because I wanted to make sure it wasn't from any virus).
  13. I am getting a pop up from Windows 10 that the affected PC is also getting (didn't see it before); is that okay or cause for concern? Also--should I delete the e-mail that I received w/ the virus link? Thank you very much for answering my questions.
  14. Thank you so much for the quick reply. I have run the scan and attached the two files. Should I not open the gmail account at this time that received the e-mail? Thanks again. FRST.txt Addition.txt
  15. Dear Forum, I've received wonderful help from this forum in the past and appreciate all that you do. Recently, I was checking my gmail and I received an e-mail from a contact I know, but it turned out that it was a virus e-mail (looked like an ad with a link which I didn't click) and this person's account had been infected, sending out tons of e-mails to all their contacts that looked like they were from them, but weren't. I just want to check my computer to make sure it's okay and that the same thing doesn't happen to me. (This person had run anti-malware and anti-virus checks on their computer and it didn't pick up the threat.) Thank you for your help.
  16. Dear Staff, I posted the FixLog as well as the previous requested logs. Thanks to the help of Trusted Advisor TwinHeadedEagle, my computer doesn't seem to be exhibiting any further issues. No major issues were found in those initial logs. As I am in deadline, I decided not to run ZOEK at this time (for the simple reason that the directions mention having to temporarily disable antivirus software and in deadline, I have too much going on to do that right now). That said, if I change my mind or have any further problems, I will post in the forum. I thank you for your help and truly appreciate the number of times my computer has been helped by the forum. Thanks again for the service you provide. Best wishes.
  17. I know all programs used here are legitimate and have no concern whatsoever. I've always been thrilled and grateful with the help I've gotten here. You've been great. What I meant to ask about was the original issue I had that caused me to ask for help. Since my computer issues seemed to start shortly after someone I know personally, sent me a jpeg file via e-mail and I downloaded it, could it be a possibility that the person sent any malware, or, any spyware? This former friend keeps mentioning things in e-mails I've sent (not e-mails I've sent to them) that they couldn't otherwise know. I realize it sounds quite strange, but as this former friend is tech savvy, I guess I'm asking if they could somehow be remotely seeing my computer activity. Or it is just coincidence. Sorry for the odd/silly question. Again, thank you for everything.
  18. From the jpeg I'd downloaded (few minutes following with a malware alert) to a few other coincidences, I can't be certain if a particular person I know is cyber-stalking. Hate to think that, but would the Zoek scan be able to find something like that if it were a possibility? Again, I truly appreciate your time and help. If I decided to do the Zoek scan at a later time, could I contact you with the diagnostic info it produces via this forum, etc...
  19. First step done. Fixlog.txt Was there any malware found? What does the Zoek scan do? Again, I'm grateful for all your help. Thank you for answering my questions and taking the time to do this.
  20. I figured out how to properly attach the correct, current reports. Here they are; please ignore previous two posts. Addition.txtFRST.txt
  21. The date, however, in the report attachments differs from the reports I obtained today by over a year. How do I attach the new reports?
  22. I followed the instructions to get the reports, yet wasn't sure of how to attach them. The my media option in this message toolbar presented what I have here. . FRST.txtAddition.txt
  23. I had a red screen pop up, redirecting my browser, locking my internet, saying that (spy_adwarepop.exe virus) had infected my computer and potentially my banking info, passwords, etc... were at risk. The screen "urgently" told me to call Microsoft at this number for help (1-855-791-2391). I tried to copy what I could from the address bar, but as my computer was locked, I couldn't get more than this (http://consumerreportwanted.com/lock.php?os=Windows%207&isp=Comcast%20Cable&brows...). Though I have security on my computer and the scans detected nothing else thus far, the other day I had this malware alert pop-up a few minutes or less after downloading a jpeg from someone. I don't know if this was from some ad or from that jpeg. From security "Quarantine", this is what it said. Vender: Malware.Trace , Date: 5/11/2015, Type: File, Location: ...for Android - Samsung.Ink . Could this come from someone technically savvy as something malicious? Or are these coincidences? Worried about the computer. Thank you for any and all help; request urgent. I've used this forum before and found it extremely helpful. I'm still grateful for all it did for me.
  24. I wanted to thank you for all your help. Happy to donate soon as well. I really appreciate your taking the time to address the issues and answer my many questions .
  25. Thank you so much for answering those questions. You've been very helpful. I have a few additional questions. Will I receive a notification when we're finished? And what should I do as a next step? Is there anything I can do to better protect my computer in the future? Finally, should I change the passwords of accounts I've been using while my computer was affected? Again, thank you for taking the time to work with me.
