  1. Hello again all, I am looking into other AV software and I am looking at Symantec End point. I am guessing that is what they are calling their AV software. I have read that there is no conflict with MWB, but that remains to be seen. I have gotten AVG to run (all green) and not in passive mode, but when you do an update, it goes right into passive mode. Since Kaspersky is on the govt. "do not use" list, I will be ruling them out. I have looked at some of the test web sites and AVG isn't on them, or down the bottom. Avast and Symantec were one and two. Since no one AV software is the best, I guess that you need to make a choice and see if that works. When one is tested and that stops 99% this week, the next week a different one will do better or the same. For now, I will deal with whatever I currently have and then remove AVG and hope the get a pro rated refund.
  2. FireFox... Just as an FYI, I added what was on the list to AVG as to "exclusions." I closed the program, rebooted and then opened AVG again and guess what... It was still in passive mode, and won't go into active mode UNLESS I uninstall MWB. I an running WIN7 Enterprise, 32gb of ram, all updates are current. Since AVG now has an extreme dislike of me because I called them out on their boondoggle, I doubt they will even talk to me once they figure out it is me in the live chat. I don't even know if they have a forums section on their web site. Couldn't find it. Unless you or anyone else have any other suggestions, I guess that I will be looking for a different AV program. One that won't screw the pooch with MWB!
  3. Hello again. I added MWB to the exception area of AVG and that seems to be working, although I can't find all the files to add as it is quite poor to do a search. I also added AVG to MWB exception area as well. While this may do in my protection, I can always delete one or the other. AVG STILL insists that MWB is an AV software and as such will conflict, causing AVG to revert to passive mode, and real time protection in MWB to be turned off or something else. IMHO, AVG could care less. They stated to me to use one or the other. AVG tech support is no more, unless you pay them.
  4. Just for clarification, I have a license for MWB and AVG, and have had it for several months. I just updated my laptop and the same thing happened, only I exited MWB, did the AVG update, rebooted twice, and no conflict, yet. However the AVG scan is choppy and slow, and I am using a SSD.
  5. I have MWB and AVG Internet protection on my machines and there was another update to AVG. After the update, it needed to reboot. It did it twice and then was in "passive" mode. When I went to switch it on, AVG wouldn't start as I needed to uninstall MWB as my av program. I exited MWB and then got AVG to be active, and then restarted MWB, all seems to be working for now. AVG support (ugh) is clueless as to what happened. Just a fyi incase you encounter this.
  6. I got home and when I went to update MWB PRO, the error message reared it's ugly head. I tried the fix button and did a reboot. Nothing was fixed. However, Windows 7 64B SP1 Enterprise needed to do it's weekly updates. Did it again and still nothing. Installed the newer version and did a shutdown and restart. So far, it's working. Still wondering why it doesn't auto update when the computer gets to the desk top like in 1.7x. Still like the program. Works finding nasty things that I don't want on my computer. Recommended to several friends. They couldn't believe what junk is running around their computer. Keep up the good work!
