  1. The Latest Declaration from IObit
  2. Thanks. I figured it had been posted. I wasn't using the right search term...
  3. Sorry is this is posted already. First on my 64bit Vista and now on my 64bit Windows 7 this registry entry does not go away with a reboot. Each startup I get a UAC warning about MBAM wanting to complete the fix. I've also seen it in a few other HJT logs when doing malware removal so I know it's not just me. O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (reboot)] "C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe" /runcleanupscript Thanks. Here is the log if needed. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.41 Database version: 3149 Windows 6.1.7600 11/11/2009 2:23:24 PM mbam-log-2009-11-11 (14-23-24).txt Scan type: Quick Scan Objects scanned: 103720 Time elapsed: 1 minute(s), 48 second(s) Memory Processes Infected: 0 Memory Modules Infected: 0 Registry Keys Infected: 0 Registry Values Infected: 0 Registry Data Items Infected: 1 Folders Infected: 0 Files Infected: 0 Memory Processes Infected: (No malicious items detected) Memory Modules Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Keys Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Values Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Data Items Infected: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\NoActiveDesktopChanges (Hijack.DisplayProperties) -> Bad: (1) Good: (0) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully. 4. That's not the main site. Malwarebytes.org is. http://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/malwarebytes.org
  5. Comments have no effect on the rating. Comments and ratings are separate. The rating will go red when some more of the regulars change or add their rating. WOT works on a "trust" system. The fewer ratings you have given the less your rating effects the overall. There are a bunch of new raters so it isn't moving the color to yellow or red. Be careful though and don't sign up new accounts (not saying anyone would) to rate with. That will set the page into "Controversial" mode because of the conflicting ratings and shut down the ability for anyone to rate.
  6. Just for the record I stopped posting at IObit a few months back for a few different reasons. Didn't see this coming but I can't say I'm surprised either.
  7. Right click the flash drive in 'My Computer' and choose 'Scan with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware'.
  8. The setup file is rated Yellow yet the website/software is rated Green . I'm not going to start bashing McAfee but that isn't surprising at all...
  9. Hmm. I'm not saying it's good software but it has a McAfee Secure rating and are good with the BBB. https://www.mcafeesecure.com/RatingVerify?r...urityshield.com
  10. And they shouldn't. This is between the management of the two software companies and those who received the messages and possibly the owners of whatever forums the messages were sent at for abusing the message system. While it was a bad move and I am also highly disappointed (I like the team at a-squared) it has been dealt with. Trying to rub it in just turns it into something childish and nobody but Marcin really should have a right to demand an apology or even a reply.
  11. There is a handful of reasons that MBAM will not run. Sometimes as a helper you have to start at the beginning and rule out everything 100% before moving on to other possibly unknown or more complex fixes. It's not uncommon for someone to say they have tried everything and it not be the complete truth. Everyone expects a one-click-fix and that isn't always possible. But, with all due respect, I too sometimes see a rushed reply. It's not about who knows what or more than the next guy/girl. It's about reading the whole topic (sometimes pages long) and then coming to the best conclusion.
  12. The rescue ISO's are linux based. They will work as long as the PC is capable of booting. Just because the MBAM portable isn't available there is no reason not to give advice on using something else.
  13. This is for the BitDefender ISO but you can use any of them. Avira, Dr Web, Kaspersky or the paid versions from other vendors. How to create a Rescue USB Or just burn one to a CD.
  14. Strange... http://samspade.org/whois/www.spycar.org Hopefully it's not permanent.
  15. I posted in their forums. Slight language barrier.
  16. I know. I've seen a few conversations on this and they all end up with it's a false positive. BUT! Security vendors seem unwilling to actually come to a definitive conclusion. I personally think it is safe but am not as experienced you guys. I update daily and these have been in the same place for weeks or months now. Suddenly they are being detected.
  17. Hi nosirrah. Different user but I just had MBAM hit on this also. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.37 Database version: 2273 Windows 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 Hope this helps. /Won't let me upload the attachment. http://www.filedropper.com/mxone
  18. Strange. I have used The Avenger many times and never had any scanner hit on anything but what had already been quarantined by Avenger.
  19. Microsoft KB including how to disable Ctfmon. Needs to be done on each user account. Frequently asked questions about Ctfmon.exe
  20. Whoever wrote that simply has a grudge and is trying to do all they can to defame the good name of MBAM and everyone involved with it. They need to grow up.
  21. I ended up using Revo to uninstall it and then reinstalled. Works now.
