  8. Hello @NewTricks: I'm glad that the Brave browser may be an acceptable abet, a temporary workaround. No doubt you have noticed others would still prefer stay with another popular browser solution. HTH
  9. Hello @NewTricks: Perhaps Spectrum could be asked if they would allow the Chrome-based Brave browser. IMHO, the Brave browser is a somewhat safer alternative to Chrome. When Brave's usefulness has passed, it could be uninstalled. HTH

  13. Hello @nubi1337: Thank you for getting back to the forum. You may have what's termed malware with a “persistence mechanism”. For the sake of good continuity, It will be best to reopen your previous topic. PING: @JSntgRvr Thank you.

  15. Hello @MacRepairShop and : Thank you for the valuable attachments. 1.) I am supposing you saw the several hijack removals at: https://duckduckgo.com/?t=ffab&q=Safari+hijacker+HomeSweekLies.com&ia=web 2.) As far as Mojave root directory malware goes, I'm not certain if chkrootkit 0.58b is helpful/effective on the MacMini7,1. 3.) Also, rkhunter 1.4.6 still runs under macOS 14.5 Sonoma and might be interesting to try. Perhaps these two are a “Hail Mary”. 4.) Have you found any other AV apps that still run under macOS 10.14.6 Mojave? 5.) It appears as if that 2014 Mac Mini's macOS could possibly be upgraded to as far as Monterey 12.7.5 opening app compatibilities somewhat. (The current Malwarebytes 5 For Mac Trial/Premium would then be compatible.) Please reply to this topic when you're able. HTH cc: @alvarnell
  16. Hello @Bren0101: Your topic will be moved for you. Meanwhile, please do not try any solutions of your own. Please check back later. Thank you.
  17. Hello @Bren0101: Yes, although I will need to have your topic moved to the Windows Malware Removal Help & Support subforum. Thank you.
  18. Hello @Bren0101: I believe you will agree, that was a reasonable scan time. Thank you.
  19. Hello @Bren0101: Malwarebytes staff recommends the Rootkits option setting remain at its default of disabled. It is recommended you return all the -Scan Options- to their installed default. RTP will continue to protect your system and watch for Rootkits when malware is launched. Leave the Rootkit setting at disabled unless requested by Malwarebytes Staff. Try the recommended settings and reply to this topic with the new scan time. Thank you
  20. Hello @Bren0101 and : Please run a MB5 threat scan and If no detections were found, click on the Save results drop-down, then the Export to TXT button. Save the file as a Text file to your desktop or other location you can find and attach that log on your next reply. Thank You.
