  1. Hello @alvarnell: Yes Al. I apologize for my language in the OP which was quite imprecise. I was exactly at the above build and I was logged in as an admin at the time of the OP. ls -@lO /Library/Application\ Support/Malwarebytes/MBAM/Engine.bundle/Contents/PlugIns/ total 0 drwxr-xr-x 3 root admin - 96 Sep 27 18:36 FrontendAgent.app drwxr-xr-x 3 root admin - 96 Sep 27 18:36 FrontendApplication.app drwxr-xr-x 3 root admin - 96 Sep 27 18:36 RTProtectionDaemon.app drwxr-xr-x 3 root admin - 96 Sep 27 18:36 SettingsDaemon.app As I have posted above to @adas, all is very well now. This still leaves other Malwarebytes for Mac users who may be faced with similar circumstances. @GuruGuy: I hope your system is good now. If not, please take over this thread with my sincere blessings. Cheers!
  2. Hello @adas: I followed your instructions in post #3 and all is well. Thank you!
  3. Hello @treed and company: As I have noted in a different sub-forum thread, https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/252402-catalina-is-out/?do=findComment&comment=1338944 following the procedure in https://support.malwarebytes.com/docs/DOC-3477 I successfully get to the end of step 6. Then, I attempt to drill down using @GuruGuy's /Library/Application Support/Malwarebytes/MBAM/Engine.bundle/Contents/PlugIns/RTProtectionDaemon.app suggestion. However, as in the attached screen shot, Engine.bundle is grayed out which stops further progress. This has me wondering if I have made previous system changes not easily traced to the above issue.
  4. Hello @dralokmodi Excellent. Thank you for the feedback.
  5. Hello @Peyote: Sophisticated attacks on under protected computer systems can occur. However, was your system infected, through an under protected browser, when you opened the website? Please DO NOT upload suspicious software to the Malwarebytes forum. Instead, upload suspicious software to Virus Total and let over 70 different AV/AM engines perform their analysis. HTH
  6. Hello @dralokmodi: The Malwarebytes for Windows Beta3 (MB4.Beta3) should have installed perfectly on top of Malwarebytes for Windows (MB3). However, if you first uninstalled MB3 using conventional Windows uninstall procedures without first deactivating the Malwarebytes Premium License, then any new install will appear as if you are exceeding the seating limits of your license. If you need help looking up your license details, please read: https://support.malwarebytes.com/docs/DOC-1264 and deactivate your license using My Account Then try activating your license through the MB4.Beta3 installation you attempted. If you are still unsuccessful at activating your license please contact the Malwarebytes support team at https://support.malwarebytes.com/community/consumer/pages/contact-us to get help. Thank you.
  7. Hello All: I too am using macOS Catalina 10.15 (19A583) with Malwarebytes for Mac 3.9.32.2826 and so far all seems okay. HTH Edit: After further review, "You're not fully protected." is displayed in the UI. Full Disk Access is not being allowed. Selecting the "Learn How" UI box leads to an obsolete procedure. Current support documents will require updates.
  8. Hello @CaroCaro and It has been stated elsewhere that Malwarebytes staff adds the additional information to track the source of the download. Although the package filename appears okay, please upload the .pkg file to VirusTotal.com (VT). An analysis of the .pkg file can NOT be had but it is a rapid method for rendering hashes. Please reply with either 1) the detection URL from VT or 2) post the SHA-256 calculation from the same VT report. Thank you.
  9. Hello @dralokmodi and You may 1) continue and allow the premium trial to expire to the limited free version or 2) activate with a purchased license. Although MB4.Beta3 was published about a week ago, if another beta follows, it will likely reset the 14-day premium trial. No guarantees though. Obviously, a purchased premium license would maintain the full protections of any Malwarebytes for Windows or other Malwarebytes products for devices that require activation for the best protections. Thank you for helping beta test MB4.
  10. Though failed for a few hours, the forum's server seems to have been restarted or such. All appears well at this time. I wonder if anything valuable was lost?
  11. @AdvancedSetup Hello All: Near the bottom of this forum's portal page, all white space makes it appear as if no members are logged in. When selecting member Notifications and/or (Private) Messages the attempt never ends. (Endless clockwise spinning circle.) While signed in to this forum and when seeking unread content using https://forums.malwarebytes.com/discover/unread/ the following error notification appears using four (4) different browsers:

  13. Hello @LiquidTension: I am certain those files were created with the Beta3 fresh install (shortly after the time of the mbst-clean late 2019-09-30). Alas, those files have now been deleted. If you feel strongly that some intrinsic value lies within, I will gladly run another mbst-clean against the Beta3 fresh install followed by another Beta3 fresh install. Say the word...
  14. Hello @nikhils and @LiquidTension: Instead of installing Beta3 on top of Beta2, I interpreted the announcement to mean the Beta2 was first to be uninstalled/cleaned before a subsequent fresh install of Beta3. I did deactivate the license before the clean/fresh install. My only issue was with the outcome of the mbst-clean removal of Beta2 using a known good download of mb-support-1.5.1.681.exe. With no error notification messages, the mbst-clean seemed to execute without incident. However, a system restart, a cursory examination showed that the C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\ directory remained. Although all the files in that directory where now absent, all sub-directories seemed to remain. A manual deletion of the C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\ directory was successfully accomplished. I still have the mbst executable I used and its sig/hashes compare perfectly with the current published download today. Though I have good system backups, checking for repeatability would be a pita. But I will be on the lookout with the publication of Beta4 etc. 2019-09-30 21:51:37.818 Failed to delete Folder C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\, reason:(The directory is not empty.(error=145)), The fresh install of Beta3 was uneventful. A previously reported annoyance, that does not permit the paste of the license Key/ID, seems to be scheduled for resolution in a later publication. Manually repopulating settings and the Allow List was trivial. Scans function as well as before. Thank you to all for this beta and congratulations to all. ManualThreatScan.txt mbst-grab-results.zip
  15. Hello @WolfT: Please attach the archive to your next reply here instead of dropbox. Thank you.
  16. Hello @grahamperrin: Please read the Malwarebytes Browser Guard 2.0.7 Release Notes document. Thank you.
  17. Hello @usa01_: You have been answered in your other thread. Why do you require such an old and unsupported version? Thank you.
  18. Hello @grahamperrin: Your observations fit at least five of the sub-forums. You may consider those as placeholders for future betas for which other members have subscribed to be notified. HTH
  19. Thanks to all for the rapid response. Full Credit goes to user eLPuSHeR at TenForums for the discovery. Thank you.

  21. Hello @HRGirl and welcome back: I am sorry to read that you're having difficulty with Malwarebytes for Mac. Please open the Malwarebytes for Mac Graphical User Interface (GUI). Please select Settings in the left pane of the UI and then select the My Account tab at the top of the Settings window that opens. The value to the right of Edition: should be either Free, Trial, or Premium. Please reply with that value. Reference: Malwarebytes for Mac Settings -> My Account setting Thank you.
  22. Hello @MarcoBytes and According to the Malwarebytes AdwCleaner usage requirements document, the release version of Malwarebytes AdwCleaner is not compatible with Windows XP nor Windows Vista. HTH
  23. Hello @Ztruker: 1. The False Positive (FP) reporting process has been expanded and mechanized for MB4.Beta. Please use the appropriate fp-tracker utility for this and future reports. 2. Post editing was removed for the lower member ranks until you have reached an upper ranking. This was done to impede spam attacks. Please resend your FP report using the utility. Thank you for taking the time to test the MB4 Beta and your report.
  24. Hello @tepitts: Malwarebytes official stance on such products are summed up rather nicely in the Malwarebytes Labs Blog: Registry Cleaners: Digital Snake Oil Hence, similar products would be rightly regarded as a PUP and would be flagged and quarantined by the Malwarebytes for Windows product. Thank you for your understanding.
  25. Hello @AlbertM and Sharing your MB4.Beta2 experiences is highly appreciated. Would you please document your observations with screenshots and logs? The Malwarebytes' staff/devs need hard data to resolve this issue. Thank you.
