Cannot download Malwarebytes
1PW replied to mariorenzi's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
Hello mariorenzi: The three links below will all lead to official download sites: http://www.malwarebytes.org/ http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html?part=dl-10804572&subj=dl&tag=button http://www.majorgeeks.com/Malwarebytes_Anti-Malware_d5756.html HTH -
Hello ksiemb: Perhaps a simple answer too is that I haven't started a Facebook account and anything posted here doesn't automatically repeat there. You certainly have my permission to quote the OP on Facebook.

In the top story of the April 7th issue of Windows Secrets newletter, Fred Langa writes that one of his MSE protected W7 systems had to ultimately be bailed out from a LizaMoon infection by MBAM: LizaMoon infection: a blow-by-blow account "I have to say I'm disappointed that Microsoft Security Essentials didn't detect or prevent this infection. It should have, and I hope Microsoft patches MSE pronto." wrote Mr. Langa. Although he's expressed disappointment with MSE, I wonder if Mr. Langa will consider MBAM PRO for all his systems now?

Hello neonsurfer: Till a Vista/Outlook expert can help you here: In a reply, would you please let us know the exact and full pathname of the folder in question? If you are running an antivirus application, what is it and what is its version? Thank you.

Is anyone else having this problem with the forums?
1PW replied to malvern's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows
At approximately 10 minutes passed this last hour, responses from the server were taking greater than one minute. Since then, the response time has improved to the point where the problem seems to have passed. -
Congratulations on your own reaffirmation!

1PW replied to malvern's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows
When the trouble was present, I was working in our group's area. The last report entry I made took probably a minute to acknowledge. At that point I paused for a break. An hour later, the trouble had passed. Perhaps nearby hardware/network maintenance was being undertaken. -

I'm using Firefox 3.6.16 I noticed a dramatic slowdown with the Malwarebytes' server about an hour ago that has now passed. HTH -

Hello malvern: Yes. Although your browser need not be shutdown, the forum's server/network is showing signs of overload. I hope it's not a DDOS attack or the like. -
infected with undetected keylogger
1PW replied to dem's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
Hello dem: Yes. From a practical standpoint it would be helpful to the specialist that follows if you choose to restart in the more appropriate sub-forum I specified above in #5. All information is very helpful. Thank you. -
infected with undetected keylogger
1PW replied to dem's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
Hello dem: It's possible that what you see is not malware. However, it would be best if you receive the attention of a highly trained specialist in the Malware Removal - HijackThis Logs sub-forum. Please start another thread there and make reference to: http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=79395 Best wishes. -

Hello dem: Have you ever downloaded an application from Software Informer and is its executable AKC.exe? -
infected with undetected keylogger
1PW replied to dem's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
Hello dem: What is it exactly that tells you the exe file is a keylogger? What is the version number of your MBAM and its database? Which type of scan did you try with MBAM? Flash, Quick or Full? If you wish, you may send that exe file to Virus Total for examination: After Virus Total has examined the exe file, please reply here with the Virus Total URL for that report. Please do specify the full pathname to the exe file in your system. Also, please specify the name and version number of your antivirus application. Thank you. http://www.virustotal.com/ -
Thinking about buying Malwaybytes

Perhaps you should seriously consider running ClamAV on your Linux system... -
You had become a true super double-threat towards the bad guys. A place at the table will be yours. Be happy!

mwbyte vo llnwd.net (What is this site?)
1PW replied to Blues's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
Hello Blues: Although the site address you provide seems to be malformed, it does seem to be part of Limelight Networks which is indeed a major content provider for MBAM's database updates, etc. HTH -
Using BestBuy's web site as an authority, it appears as if MBAM has not penetrated that market just yet.
-
Hello MAM: This is definitely NOT a stupid question. Although Fry's Electronics will ship MBAM internationally, the terms & conditions of the rebate states: "This offer is only valid in the United States." HTH
-
Hello SpiderLover: Fry's will ship for $2.99: Rebated MBAM HTH
-
Hello Viracocha711: If a subsequent full scan with an updated MBAM shows no infections AND a full scan with your legitimate, updated, companion antivirus software shows no infections, then your system is likely to be clean. As your previous infection was adequately removed, and you may have no records as to the exact identity of that malware, (although MBAM has great logs) it is difficult to say if that's why your ports are being attacked/scanned. Your original post would seem to indicate your computer's OS is either Vista or Windows 7. Remember to keep your system's defenses updated/current as this will go a long way towards protecting you. HTH

Hello Viracocha711: Yours makes about the tenth complaint in various forums. You are seeing incoming port attacks from an IP address that is seemingly originating in China. http://isc.incidents.org/ipinfo.html?ip=221.192.199.043 Thankfully, your MBAM Pro's IP Protection Module is thwarting these attacks, just as it should. This would not be related to your upgrade to IE9.
