  4. Why yes there is, kind of.... this is what I do and use...... I have created two new shortcuts on my desktop. One is called Restart Windows and the other Shutdown windows. Here is the code that you need to put as the target in the shortcut to restart windows: C:\WINDOWS\system32\shutdown.exe -r -t 01 Here is the code that you need to put as the target in the shortcut to shutdown windows: C:\WINDOWS\system32\shutdown.exe -s -t 01 You can change the 01 in the code to give you more time before it shuts down. 01 means one second. Once you create the shortcuts you can change the icon if you like to match the restart arrow and the shutdown button by pointing the change icon to the file located at %SystemRoot%\system32\SHELL32.dll from there you can choose the one you like. Hope that makes sense for you.
  5. I see this in a lot of laptops. I take them apart and most of the times the jack is fine, its what we technicians call a cold solder contact. We just re-solder them back in place and problem is usually solved. Does not hurt to buy a new one to have it handy just in case.
  6. No the UAC is not blocking your real time protection. If you see the Malwarebytes logo in your system trey it is running as designed.
  7. Its like Haider has said, make sure you get your Scheduler configured correctly for automatic updates and scans. When the scheduled update runs it will run just fine without being prompted by UAC. When you run a manual scan, it will prompt you by UAC, this is by design and it is working correctly. IP Test Site You can test your IP Protection/Web Blocker by going to a site that resides on Malwarebytes' own servers and is perfectly safe. The test address is iptest.malwarebytes.org.
  8. I am glad it worked for you, if you have any other issues or questions don't hesitate to ask. PS: Please use the "ADDREPLY" button instead of other ones when you start replying.
  9. Hello and MBAM_ERROR_NO_ITEMS_SELECTED (0,0) Generally this particular error can be corrected by doing the following: Open Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and click on the Settings tab Click on the Scanner Settings tab in that window Click the box next to each of the following so that they are checked: Scan memory objects. Scan registry objects. Scan filesystem objects. Scan additional items against heuristics. Enable advanced heuristics engine. (Heuristics.Shuriken) [*]Try scanning again and you should no longer receive that error.
  10. You should contact Cleverbridge, their contact info can be found HERE. If you need anything else just post. Thanks
  11. Daddy, how was I born? A little boy goes to his father and asks 'Daddy, how was I born?' The father answers, 'Well, son, I guess one day you will need to find out anyway! Your Mom and I first got together in a chat room on Yahoo. Then I set up a date via e-mail with your Mom and we met at a cyber-cafe.. We sneaked into a secluded room, and googled each other. There your mother agreed to a download from my hard drive. As soon as I was ready to upload, we discovered that neither one of us had used a firewall, and since it was too late to hit the delete button, nine months later a little Pop-Up appeared that said: Scroll down scroll down 'You got Male!

  13. Hi, and Welcome to Malwarebytes! This is probably caused by the infection, let the experts have a look at it to make sure they get all the infections removed. Please read the following so that you can begin the cleaning process: As we don't deal with malware removal in the General Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Forum, you need to start a topic in the Malware Removal forum so a qualified helper can help you fix any malware related problems/infections you may have. Please read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a NEW topic here. After posting your new post, make sure under options, you select Track this topic and choose Immediate Email Notification, so that you're alerted when someone has replied to your post. One of the expert helpers there will give you one-on-one assistance when one becomes available. Please refrain from making any further changes to your computer (Install/Uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc...) unless advised by a malware removal helper. Doing so can result in system changes which may hinder the attempts by a helper to clean your machine. NOTE: Please DO NOT post back to (bump) your topic within the first 48 hours. Replying to your own posts changes the post count and helpers are looking for topics with zero replies. If you reply to your own post helpers may think that you're already being helped and thus overlook your post. If there is no reply from any experts after 48 hours, you can reply to the topic, asking for help again. Or You may send a Private Message to a Moderator asking for assistance. Alternatively, as a paying customer, you can contact the help desk at support@malwarebytes.org or here. Please be patient, someone will assist you as soon as it is possible. PS: Please use the "ADDREPLY" button instead of other ones when you start replying.
  14. I am not sure if there is a place to exclude Malwarebytes files in McAfee Security Center (which is the version you have). Look around and see if you can find a place to add exclusions and if you do find a place exclude the files listed below: Please exclude the following files from your antivirus: Note: If using a software firewall besides the built in Windows Firewall you'll need to exclude them from it as well For Windows XP: C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\zlib.dll C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.dll C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamext.dll C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys Note: If using a software firewall besides the built in Windows Firewall you'll need to exclude MBAM.EXE from it as well Note: Once that's done, please make sure that if either of those programs has any sort of web filter, that you add the following as a trusted site: data-cdn.mbamupdates.com The FAQ contains examples of setting file exclusions for some known AV products Please post back and let us know how it went.
  15. You can start by submitting samples on a regular basis to the reseach center located HERE. Once you have established yourself there, you my be promoted automatically, or you can request a promotion by one of the admins. (NOTE: I could be wrong about the above statement (as I do not work for Malwarebytes), but I am sure they will correct me if I am wrong.))
  16. Hi, and Welcome to Malwarebytes! If you are showing over 400 infections, then we will have to get the experts to help you clean up your computer, after that if you have any further issues running MBAM then come back here. 17. Since you renamed your file to firefox.exe and was able to run it, did you update it first and run a quick scan? Did it find any infections? When you rename the file like this, it usually indicates an infection. After you run a quick scan and remove items found, rename the file back to mbam.exe and see if it runs like normal, if it does not then you will have to seek help from the experts for your infection by following the instructions below: _________________________________________________________ Please read the following so that you can begin the cleaning process: As we don't deal with malware removal in the General Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Forum, you need to start a topic in the Malware Removal forum so a qualified helper can help you fix any malware related problems/infections you may have. 20. Hello and Add to Ignore List instructions: Quote from the FAQ section of [iNFO] IP Protection: The only way you can add an IP to the ignore list now is to trigger a block by MBAM (eg visiting the site). The following figure shows an example of such a block: If you can trigger that one, then you can add the IP(s) to the ignore list: Please post back if you have further questions. Thank You PS Please use the "ADDREPLY" button at bottom of forum window instead of other ones when you start replying.
