  1. This is a valid update by Microsoft, you can read about it RIGHT HERE. This security update resolves seven privately reported vulnerabilities and three publicly disclosed vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer. If Malwarebytes ip protection reports blocks to IP 80.87.199.17, when you are using IE it is possible that you may have some rootkit or infection on your system. What is your version of Malwarebytes and what definition do you have? (latest version is 1.46 with database 4811) Did you run a quick scan for infections? What were your results?

It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so very important After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Pro version Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates. Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Pro version. 3. No need to install over the free one, so long as you already have the latest version. Just enter your ID and Key and you should be good to go. As for adding it to the mix, it should be ok, just add the expections into your antivirus and firewall for the MBAM files.
  4. jolyn_5 --- That traceroute log shows a DNS issue, and it's possible that your DNS settings have been hijacked. Try this - It is general solution that works most times - You may want to copy/paste this to notepad as you will disconnect from the Internet for a while - 1. Very important: First disconnect your computer from the Internet. Just Log Off- while you reset the router - 2. Router Reset: Next you must reset the router to its default configuration. This can be done by inserting something tiny like a paper clip end or pencil tip into a small hole labeled "reset" located on the back of the router. Press and hold down the small button inside until the lights on the front of the router blink off and then on again (usually about 10 seconds). NOTE: To help prevent the router from getting hijacked again, make sure you change the default password to the router and also secure your wireless connection. 3. Reset the IP/DNS settings of your Internet connection: Download this Microsoft Item 4. Flush the DNS cache: Click the Start logo in the bottom left corner of the screen Click on Run or press Windows Logo+R In the command window copy/paste the following: ipconfig /flushdns netsh winsock reset Then hit enter and a black box will flash . Exit the command window. 5 Update: Try to update to the latest version NOTE: This is what we are looking for - Name: edge.data-cdn.mbamupdates.com Address: 68.232.45.133 Thank You -
  5. Hi Israel, and Welcome to Malwarebytes! You have posted in the wrong section but no worries, I will direct you to the right place...... Please read the following so that you can begin the cleaning process: As we don't deal with malware removal in the General Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Forum, you need to start a topic in the Malware Removal forum so a qualified helper can help you fix any malware related problems/infections you may have. Please read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a NEW topic here. After posting your new post, make sure under options, you select Track this topic and choose Immediate Email Notification, so that you're alerted when someone has replied to your post. One of the expert helpers there will give you one-on-one assistance when one becomes available. Please refrain from making any further changes to your computer (Install/Uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc...) unless advised by a malware removal helper. Doing so can result in system changes which may hinder the attempts by a helper to clean your machine. NOTE: Please DO NOT post back to (bump) your topic within the first 48 hours. Replying to your own posts changes the post count and helpers are looking for topics with zero replies. If you reply to your own post helpers may think that you're already being helped and thus overlook your post. If there is no reply from any experts after 48 hours, you can reply to the topic, asking for help again. Or You may send a Private Message to a Moderator asking for assistance. Alternatively, as a paying customer, you can contact the help desk at support@malwarebytes.org or here. Please be patient, someone will assist you as soon as it is possible. PS: Please use the "ADDREPLY" button instead of other ones when you start replying.
  6. Steveg722 I am sorry I did not realize that you were not an Honorary member yet (it takes 50 forum posts before you can become one). Anyway it is basically going to take you to THIS PAGE which is Wilders Security Forums where it gives you a list of uninstallers.....
  7. I don't think I would run both scans at the same time with these two products. I know there are folks her that run the two programs actively at the same time with no issues. I would prefer to run one and then the other. This is easy to do if you have the pro version of both that way you could setup the scheduler at different times for each product. These are my thoughts anyway....
  8. Hi, and Welcome to Malwarebytes! Wow 4000 items, thats a lot.... it is possible you may still have something lurking in your system, lets have the experts take a look at it. 9. I like using a tool called File Unlocker, you may give it a try as well..... download it from Cnet.... hxxp://download.cnet.com/Unlocker/3000-2248_4-10493998.html
  10. Malwarebytes and other security vendors will not share any malware files with any unauthorized personnel for security reasons. At the same time I do not believe they will direct you to any place that can get you infected. I am not on the staff here, and this is solely my thoughts on this.....
  11. Have a look RIGHT HERE and it will direct you to a place where you can get some uninstallers for this product.
  12. Please provide following details, so that someone may be able to assist you: 1. OS version including 32/64-bit 2. Installed Security Product(s) including Firewall 3. MBAM version (current 1.46) 4. Definition version (current 4801) 5. Do you use a router to connect to Internet
  13. Lets try and see if you may be having issues due to your router.... Here are some steps to diagnose update issues: Step 1 Click on this link and let me know what it says. It should be just a 4-digit number in the upper-left corner. Step 2 Please download and run the traceroute utility at this link. It will run a traceroute to our update servers to see if it can find the connection issue, and then it will write it to a log, and open that log in Notepad when it is done. Please either save the log as a Text File and then attach it to a reply, or copy and paste it into a reply, and I will forward it on to our server guy. Note that it may take several minutes to run, and it may look like it is not doing anything for a few minutes. Normally it takes longer when there are errors that it has to log, but it's rare for it to go more than 10 minutes. Step 3 Please download TCPView from Microsoft at this link. This utility will monitor everything that is accessing the Internet or your local network. All you have to do is run TCPView, and then run Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and start the update. Watch TCPView to see if mbam.exe shows up in the list. It will be pretty obvious, because it highlights it in green. I need to know what "Remote Address" Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is trying to connect to. Once it shows up in the list, you can right-click on the line for mbam.exe, and select 'Copy' in order to paste it into a reply. It will tell me what I need to know. Below is an example of what the line you are looking for will look like inside the following code box: mbam.exe:3656 TCP vista-x64:52135 cdn-208-111-168-7.ord.llnw.net:http ESTABLISHED
  14. I have not tried this, but if you check the properties of the shortcut you just created, there is a section under the Shortcut tab where you can add a shortcut key: for using your keyboard.
  15. Now that you can access the internet, download and install the latest version of Malwarebytes update it and run a Quick Scan and make sure you system is clean.... Something changes your IE settings and you need to find out what did it.
  16. Just to answer your question.... When you ran the mbam-clean too, it removed all items and setting for Malwarebytes including items in your Quarantined folder or items.....
  17. Add to Ignore List instructions: Quote from the FAQ section of [iNFO] IP Protection: The only way you can add an IP to the ignore list now is to trigger a block by MBAM (eg visiting the site). The following figure shows an example of such a block: If you can trigger that one, then you can add the IP(s) to the ignore list: Please post back if you have further questions. Thank You PS Please use the "ADDREPLY" button at bottom of forum window instead of other ones when you start replying.
  18. ShermansWar, Sorry to hear that you are having the same problem, and sorry if your post went un-noticed, it would have been better if you started your own topic, but no worries now...... That traceroute log shows a DNS issue, and it's possible that your DNS settings have been hijacked. Thank You -

  21. Hi, and Welcome to Malwarebytes! I am sorry to hear you are having issues with your computer. Don't give up on Malwarebytes just yet. I would suggest that you have the experts take a look at your computer so that they can find out what is happening. You may or may not be infected, but they will find the root cause of your problem, and by the way completly free, no need to spend any more money. I know there are some known issues with some of the McAfee versions, but you mention you entered exceptions. What version of McAfee do you use? Give them a try by following the instructions below.
