  2. Not sure if this has been discussed but her it goes.... Ok I installed v1.50 Pro on a computer running v1.45 Pro that had not been updated. The install went fine, it asked me to reboot so I did. After the reboot, I put my mouse over the MBAM icon in the trey and is said it was v1.50. I then double clicked on the icon so that I can check the scheduler, and got a message that a new version had been downloaded and needed to install. I thought it was just one of those double install errors from the past, so I just let it install again. Well what happened after the reboot is that it actually installed v1.46, so I had to again re-install version 1.50. Maybe we should do a version check during the install and popup a message like you already have the latest version installed, would you like to reinstall or install this older version....
  3. Thats fine, let us know how it goes.... PS: Please use the "ADDREPLY" button instead of other ones when you start replying.

  8. Here is the error he is getting for those intrested in seeing it.... Please follow the instructions I gave you in Post #2 above.....
  9. Your welcome, let us know should you have any errors....
  10. Lots of folks run the free version, and do manual updates and scans and that is enough for them, so I suppose in your case that would work, if you are comfortable with that..... As for AVG and how long they will take, I am not sure, you may try asking on their forums.... Some users here are using AVG and Malwarebytes together without issues and report it works OK, so it is isolated to some computers only. If you AVG is fully updated try checking the options and see if you can find a place to enter exclusions. Also with Malwarebytes v1.50 you can try adding the AVG install folders to the ignor list and see if that helps. Open Malwarebytes and click on the Ignore List Tab Click on Add (lower left hand corner) Browse to the location where AVG is installed, and add the whole folder. Restart and see if that helps.
  11. Hi, and Welcome to Malwarebytes! Please read the following so that you can begin the cleaning process: As we don't deal with malware removal in the General Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Forum, you need to start a topic in the Malware Removal forum so a qualified helper can help you fix any malware related problems/infections you may have. Please read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a NEW topic here. After posting your new post, make sure under options, you select Track this topic and choose Immediate Email Notification, so that you're alerted when someone has replied to your post. One of the expert helpers there will give you one-on-one assistance when one becomes available. Please refrain from making any further changes to your computer (Install/Uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc...) unless advised by a malware removal helper. Doing so can result in system changes which may hinder the attempts by a helper to clean your machine. NOTE: Please DO NOT post back to (bump) your topic within the first 48 hours. Replying to your own posts changes the post count and helpers are looking for topics with zero replies. If you reply to your own post helpers may think that you're already being helped and thus overlook your post. If there is no reply from any experts after 48 hours, you can reply to the topic, asking for help again. Or You may send a Private Message to a Moderator asking for assistance. Alternatively, as a paying customer, you can contact the help desk at support@malwarebytes.org or here. Please be patient, someone will assist you as soon as it is possible. PS: Please use the "ADDREPLY" button instead of other ones when you start replying.
  12. Great glad that worked for you..... Anti-Virus programs are always changing and Malwarebytes can not predict what changes they make or what they detect in their signatures so that would be hard to do. For example, for a while Malwarebytes was working fine with AVG anti-virus but then AVG came out with a new version and BLAM all of a sudden folks were having issues. AVG was the one at fault in this case, and they are suppose to be working on a fix for it.
  13. Yes there is a way to deactivate the MBAM real time protection but that would defeat the purpose of having Malwarebytes runing the Pro version as you would no longer be protected if you deactivated it. I know a lot of folks switched from AVG to something else due to this conflict. AVG is suppose to be working on a fix.
  14. You should be able to update right over the beta version. I have updated at least 5 computers this way and had no issues.
  15. Yes that version of AVG has issues with Malwarebytes and causes lockups. AVG has removed the ablility to add exceptions to the MBAM files. If you are intrested there are other FREE altermatives for anti-virus software. Avira Avast Microsoft Security Essentials Those are a few that I would recommend. You could try removing AVG and try one of those together with Malwarebytes Pro. Below are the files you would have to exclude. Please exclude the following files from your antivirus: Note: If using a software firewall besides the built in Windows Firewall you'll need to exclude them from it as well For Windows XP: C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\zlib.dll C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.dll C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamext.dll C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys For Windows Vista or Windows 7: C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\zlib.dll C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.dll C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamext.dll C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys For 64 bit versions of Windows Vista or Windows 7: C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\zlib.dll C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.dll C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamext.dll C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys C:\Windows\SysWoW64\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys Note: If using a software firewall besides the built in Windows Firewall you'll need to exclude MBAM.EXE from it as well Note: Once that's done, please make sure that if either of those programs has any sort of web filter, that you add the following as a trusted site: data-cdn.mbamupdates.com The FAQ contains examples of setting file exclusions for some known AV products Please post back and let us know how it went.
  16. @ AdvancedSetup, I would not say I am very good with it, but I am fair with it. I mix some tunes for my daughters ballet classes and recitals....
  17. There are some compatibility issues with some versions of AVG and Malwarebytes. What version of AVG are you using?

  20. Glad you solved your problem, be adviced that a new version of Malwarebytes has been released, you should upgrade to the latest version of 1.50 you can download it from HERE
  21. Since I posted earlier on this, my xp system at home is at a steady 84MB, I am not concerned with it as it has plenty of ram and I do not notice any slowdowns. On my work PC, it is a Win 7 Ultimate running McAfee Corp Edition 8.7i and the mbamservice is at a steady 29MB with no issues either.
  22. The update process does not download any infections. The update will download new definition files (which if you were running an old version and then run a scan after updating it may find new infections since the update will detect new things). The update will also download new versions of the software if they are available, together with a new definition file.
  23. This question would have been better asked HERE under Comments and Suggestions, you would probably get a better response.... I am not on the staff, but I could tell you that their hands are full with fighting Malware and staying head to head with that. I do not think that there are plans at this time for Malwarebytes to produce a firewall or an anti-virus program at this time.
