  1. Thanks for that. May I ask: is there a reason why I am getting spyware frequently.. even by opening an internet browser? and why are these cookies identified as 'infections'? Cheers
  2. BTW I tried to install Cookie safe and I got the following: Firefox could not install the file at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/do...src=addondetail because: Unexpected installation error Review the Error Console log for more details. -203
  3. Hi, Thanks for your reply. In the past I haven't been worried about it until a few months ago when I was infected with a trojan. Since then, with my daily antivirus scan or Advance Systemcare Scan, it always says there is an infection, but the infection is a tracking cookie. My other concern is that I can get the 'supposed' infection even by opening a internet browser. I thought this was strange. But if you feel there is nothing to worry about, I'll trust your judgement. I do thank you immensely for your response.
  4. Hi, I currently have this dilemma when I access the net. No matter what internet browser I am using, I constantly get spyware (cookies) on my system. At present I have the following running on my PC: Bitdefender Total Security 2009 Advanced Systemcare Pro malwarebytes Pro Spybot S&D A few months ago, I suspected I got a trojan of some kind and it was removed by Bitdefender or one of the others. At that time, I also experienced the following: PC was running slower My Bookmarks from IE and Firefox were deleted and so were all saved bookmarks My home pages on both IE and FF had changed (IE reverted to www.ninemsn.com.au and FF reverted to a blank html.) I was getting spyware on ASC and BD on each daily scan Cursor was moving 'freely' and without mouse intervention on the screen However when I run Malwatebytes, no malware appears on the log. The infected cookies are ad.yieldmanager.com and atdmt.com. Despite having the options of having cookies deleted upon closing browser, and controlling what cookies are allowed via Bitdefender and choosing no 3rd party cookies as my browser options, these persistent beasts continue to return, even by opening a browser. I have tried for the last three months with Bitdefender to find a solution but they have been of little assistance. Below are a copy of my Hijackthis log and Malwarebytes log. ogfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2 Scan saved at 02:32, on 5/08/2009 Platform: Windows XP SP3 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v8.00 (8.00.6001.18702) Boot mode: Normal Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\BitDefender\BitDefender Update Service\livesrv.exe C:\Program Files\BitDefender\BitDefender 2009\vsserv.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin\AppleMobileDeviceService.exe C:\Program Files\Bonjour\mDNSResponder.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\CTsvcCDA.exe C:\Program Files\Nero\Nero 7\InCD\InCDsrv.exe C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\jqs.exe C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\nvsvc32.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\CyberLink\Shared Files\RichVideo.exe C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Search Enhancement Pack\SeaPort\SeaPort.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Windows Live\WLIDSVC.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\SearchIndexer.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Windows Live\WLIDSvcM.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe C:\Program Files\BitDefender\BitDefender 2009\bdagent.exe C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe C:\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia PC Suite 7\PCSuite.exe C:\Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync\wcescomm.exe C:\Program Files\Spybot -
