  1. I have a computer only purchased a few months ago to replace an old computer that had been acting up...running beyond slow, would not start up correctly on a consistent basis, etc. So I purchased a new one and transferred all my files to it. Now this new computer is doing the same thing. The monitors are not detected or it will not complete start up. Programs I've removed are being re-installed. I've tried system restore but it will not show me any restore points. I used malewrebytes on the old system and it would seem to help for a few days and then back to the same issue. I think whatever was on my old computer I somehow transferred right onto to new one. Is there any advice anyone can give me on how to proceed? I'm running Windows 10 Home version/ I'm now also having trouble posting this message. Hopefully it gets through I'd appreciate any help. Kathy
  2. It is behaving much better! It changed drastically after I ran the fixlist.txt. What did that change? Also, is there anyway you might know of to stop those e-mails that I know are viruses? Thanks so much for all your help so far!
  3. My Accounting Program: Peachtree seems to have been moved or disabled somehow. I went to program files and it's listed. Clicked on "repair" and it said it couldn't find the msi files? I have some backups, but would be missing two if the fixes deleted the program files. Will I be able to get that back or will only be able to reinstall the program? Thanks again for helping.
  4. Both files are attached. And already there is a MAJOR difference in the functionality of my computer! Fixlog.txt FSS.txt
  5. Attached are the two files per your request. The computer is so non-responsive I had to walk away for five minutes before it would let me click "attach" Addition.txt FRST.txt
  6. Ok...I clicked on "more info" in the error and it did let me choose "run anyway", so I am running it now.
  7. Thanks for responding so quickly..... I am getting an error that says "Windows Smart Screen prevented an unrecognized app from starting" I tried to run as an administrator but same message. The file name is FRST64.exe. Is that the correct one? Also, Windows Defender tried to update it's definitions and keeps saying it cannot update. Now what?
  8. Hello, I think I have malware on my computer.... Awhile back I received an e-mail that said "invoice attached"....I clicked on it without thinking because I had recently ordered something from etsy, so I thought it was the receipt. Nothing actually opened and I assumed it was a virus. I ran Microsoft Anti-Virus and Windows Defender...it found a Trojan and I thought the problem was fixed. But since then I receive at least one of these same "Invoice Attached" emails per day, all from different e-mail addresses and all with attachments. I use Outlook 2007 and I always right click on them and choose block this sender and then delete the email. But because the sender is always different they keep coming. In addition to this, my PC has slowed down to a near crawl. I have checked my installed programs and nothing looks unusual. I do not use this computer to randomly go on the internet. Its mostly reputable business sites and the e-mail in Outlook was just for my work e-mail until that one bad apple got in. Now it's loaded with junk I would like to find out if my computer has malware or spyware or why it has slowed so drastically and I would also love to know if there is a way to stop these "invoice attached" e-mails from coming in. Any help would greatly be appreciated because as of right now everything opens so slow on my computer I may as well not have one. Thank you in advance! Kathy Cobb
  9. It seems to be ok. I do not know what gfxUI is and always says it has stopped working on start up. The updates went fine. I would like to stop any unnecessary start up programs. There is so much running in the background of this computer it slows it down pretty dramatically. Should I attempt to run windows disk cleanup or defrag?
  10. Microsoft security essentials found 4 Trojans which I let it remove. I do not know if there is anyway to get a log. I am now letting the computer do its windows updates. What should I be doing next?
  11. All the programs were gone. And I am running a full Microsoft security essentials scan now.
  12. It seems ok, but I haven't really been using it just doing the repairs. When it was not working properly, I could not uninstall two of the programs you said should be uninstalled. Should I go back and try to uninstall now? Also, when the computer was not working I could not update or run Microsoft security essentials. Should I try to run that now? And there are windows updates now. Should I try to do those? Thanks again so much for the help so far
  13. I completed the Malware Bytes scan. I have attached the scan log here. I will be back to work on this again tomorrow morning. So far you have helped so much!! MB scan log.txt
  14. I have completed the AdwCleaner and have attached the log for that as well. The computer seems to be running better. I will wait for your next reply as to how to proceed. I would really like to know how to get rid of some of the stuff that she has running at start up. It seems to be A LOT of programs. I would also like to know more about all the process that are running and how to clean up the computer to run faster/better if you have any suggestions. Thank you so much for your help so far.
